I'm American, but when I hear this song I feel like I was born Australian. It's strange the way this song affects me so deeply. Wish I could sing it in a pub with some Aussies someday! What a great great song.

Simple beach boy from Melbourne here, mate. Always happy to have a cold one, and belt out this tune.

Come to Oberon NSW and sing it in the same pub as the original video. Nothing much changes there (as it says in the video).

3months ago, I was working in a Bakery in Weipa, Far North Queensland, Australia, and this song played on the job. One of my goals was to play this very song but on a JBL, in New Zealand, and here I am. I manifested it, and this song will always be a reminder 🔥
Rotorua, New Zealand, on a JBLPartybox310. Stoned as. 2024 🥳

I went to funeral today. This song was played, the most true, honest, and real song that could be played today. RIP Garry Carpenter. The celebrant said; one of the greatest accolades an Australian man can ever achieve is to be called a "Good Bloke", Carpo, you were that and so much more. One of those unsung bastions of strength, courage, resolve.... that makes a world a better place.

One of the most "infectious" songs I've ever heard in my 76 years! So bitter and so sweet...

Such a gorgeous song. Always gives me goosebumps. Pure vision of nostalgic Australiana and a potentially a vision of a bygone era. Beaut’ of a song in this great country that I’m blessed to now call home.
