You asked so I am telling you kindly, I bought the Mavic 2 Pro and it has the Hasselblad. It is awesome and I have several other DJI drones now but this one is incredible, lands on a tack mark every time, Reliable, and manual focus displays videos and pictures beyond belief. I also received the Fly more combo as it is a great deal with the multi charger that charges one battery after another is completed. I have been practicing and learning its abilities for 2 weeks now and it is amazing. Make sure to mention touching the screen flying you can point to where the gimbal will move the camera to!! It basically goes anywhere like a passenger in a plane. That is an amazing gimbal movelment not have to turn the turn or crab it to view items not in front!!!!!

Just want to say I appreciate your non fanboy approach. I have watched several videos today and I could just gag watching some of them. You take that fair and balanced stance and I appreciate that. I'm sure you know I have the Evo, but I would never buy another dji and at the prices they are asking, people have to be crazy (they are) to pay that kind of cash. So again, thanks for your honesty. That is why I look forward to your videos.

Wow. I say watch the video again. Actually listen to what he says and not what you THINK he is saying. He is actually quite the popular youtuber and is known for honest and fair reviews. He admits the zoom is not too much of an upgrade. Look at the hype from the last month. Look at the cancellation of the event last month to come out with a 1" sensor that can't do 4K at 60 fps. These are jokes. Also, hate to tell you, but you sound like a very serious fanboy.

As a "value" hobbyist, I'm more than content with my MP1. Yes, this MP2 has some great improvements, but it's not like most of us are pushing the capabilities of our old Mavics. An extra mile and a few min of flight time isn't worth paying double.
I've no idea why all these other randos got copies to review and they didn't give you one. You're one of the only youtube drone guys that does a great job of being objective.

So far I’m very happy with my DJI spark and my Yuneec q500+, thinking of getting the DJI Mavic 2 zoom.
I was really excited to see the launch today. I have been sorta anxious about DJI’s offering today because I bought the Anafi a month ago. But after I saw the price of these drones today, I’m extremely happy I kept the Anafi. The Anafi, after having time to learn and to adjust the manual camera settings, is a excellent drone and very capable for its size. It’s really not a thought anymore to unpack it in seconds and throw it up in the air to get a quick shot. ]]]]
I am definitely looking forward, down the road though, to pick up the Mavic pro 2 when maybe the prices come down.

I love the Anafi as well. Fun and easy drone to use and get nice shots. And it has a zoom that works well, including the Dolly Zoom feature that also works well.
My thoughts exactly too. I have the Parrot Anafi and more than happy with it.
I've had the zoom for almost a month now and I love it. Super stable, solid signal and video feed at long distances. Love the zoom feature!
I just had a look at DJI FAQ, not only can you switch cameras via DJI service, but you can in the future use the old Mavic controller with the Mavic 2. Nothing beats having a spare!

I'm still very happy with my spark.... I will admit the 3 axis gimbal would be nice

In the next model in a few years one of the things they should add is to be able to put different DJI cameras on the drone and have a few different types of cameras to buy separately and change out on your drone at home.

Well, it will be considered the higher level Mavic 2 for the next two years... until the Mavic 3 comes out.
I just got the Mavic Air because of the advice you gave and also your last video on the Mavic Air and so far I very very happy with it
Mavic Air will probably end up being the most sold drone by DJI due to the features and price (it will certainly sell far more than the Mavic 2 models).

I’d like to see a really in-depth assessment of the Hasselblad camera. How well does the 10 bit D-log work? How easy is it to use the variable aperture during flight? How well does the dynamic range handle low level light? Is the camera noisy in low light! Filters for the camera? Etc. etc. etc.
I think this will be an awesome time for those of us on a budget to pick up a Mavic Pro or pro platinum for hopefully a much reduced price.

Great initial overview of the new Mavics, Captain! I am going to wait for your comprehensive reviews before I pull the trigger, because I am not sure which of the two will better suit my needs! I regret to have bought DJI drones too early. I own a P4 and an Inspire 1. For the past 2 years, I have resisted all the DJI drones launched. The next drone i'm gonna buy is the one with 8K capability. For a amateur like me, I don't wanna "collect" too many drones.

I ordered the Mavic 2 Pro yesterday, right after event started. Got shipping confirmation by 3pm via Fedex. Fedex estimates delivery in 4 days.
Much quicker than me up in Canada. I ordered during the event as well. DJI always uses DHL to ship to Canada, so that may be part of the reason I have heard nothing.
Just bought the 2 pro, and will have my maiden flight now:-)
Man the pictures from the pro, are just incredible. It fits for the lovely nature, in Northern Norway.
Thats why I like watching you. It seems you are not sponsored by dji to give them gold stars for each model released. I just want an honest review, the good and the bad. No sugar coating. I still have the p3p and it does everything a typical responsible consumer needs. I will eventually obtain a mavic 2 pro but not at the current price. No thanks.

Hi Steve. I will keep my new 'old' Mavic 2016 model. my is just 3 months old and it fits all my needs. DJI is moving the price to high for mt pocket. Keep doing the grat work.
I have ordered Zoom version. I frequently fly over mountains and with good light. From the footage from both varieties of Mavic 2, it is hard to see the difference. I am not postprocessing my videos and unlikely do the color grading I would rather never use the capabilities of the Pro version. I own Mavic Air which has similar camera and I am quite happy with quality of the videos already. The Air's main problem is radio interference which limits the range drastically and unpredictably. Zoom in camera can add some capabilities when filming animals or climbers for example, which I frequently do. For the difference in price between Zoom and Pro I may afford the Fly More kit.

I agree with some of the other comments about your non-bias reviews of the drones and they're well appreciated. I have a Spark and the first drone from DJI and impressed by the quality of the product. I'm just curious when people acquire the new product and start comparing to what's on the market. I love the comment on "glitch gate", as most new drones have some bugs to work out. We'll see and I will stay tuned.

Absolutely I would purchase one of these drones but since I am a retired vet with a small income I will hang tight and save until I have enough to buy one, but by that time God only knows what will be available and at what astronomical price.

The new Mavic’s are great, but ad you told, these are upgrades from the original one. I will stay with my Mavic pro for now.
I have the Platinum now. I just ordered the ZOOM. Only because I'm not into the videography thing. I'm a F.R.A.... Fugitive Recovery Agent. The optical Zoom is the main reason for this purchase.

I only use the DJI GO 4 App with the old Mavic Pro. You can purchase and use Litchi if you wish.

Yes, they are overpriced. $1250 for the Pro and $1000 for the zoom would be a fair price.
Herr Leeker i love it when people just buy things they don’t need to impress people they don’t like. Yeah i’ll say it like it is! That damn drone it just too expensive. It’s not that i can’t afford it. In my opinion it shouldn’t cost that much. It is the same Mavic pro just added features. If it has 4k with 60 or 120fps then that would be a different story. You can call me cheap all you want! I know i spend my money wisely.

The event was incredible. The Mavic 2 feels very solid. There was a space to fly them in back of the venue. Very fast a much quieter.
Got to meet a ton of other colleagues - got a video coming out on that. Plus several of the folks from DJI.

I fly a mini at the moment, but just ordered the mavic zoom and I can't wait
I sold my P4A and bought a Mavic Air then sold my Mavic Pro and got a Mavic 2 zoom. Sale for $1070 on the M2z and $500 for the MA so not so bad. I have not taken the M2 for a ride yet but will soon. I just hope it's better in low light than the old MP.

Thanks Steve for the great video, I knew your video would be more based on honesty. I like my DJI products but found use and fun in my others drones from different manufacturers. The couple videos that have came out earlier sound more like they are being paid by DJI then give their honest thoughts. That why I enjoy watching your videos because you give a honest opinion and I learn so much from your videos. Thank you for all your time and information and keep it coming. I think I'll be living my Mavic 2 wants through you for awhile. Being still kinda new in drones and just starting to learn editing for my own videos that the advances in the camera wouldn't be even getting used. I think I'll learn some more before spending money just to say I have the newest one in my arsonal.

I have been waiting for this drone for years, I bought a Phantom 3 Pro a few years back and I love it, over the years I have had issues but refused to buy the mavic pro until they brought out a new version, as a few weeks after buying the phantom they brought out the Mavic (Kinda Hurt!) - now I saw the new announcement and immediately bought the Mavic 2 Pro - hoping that I have made the right decision :) - Great video thanks!
Tbh now the Mavic 2 is coming out I,ll hopefully be able to get a decent priced Mavic 1.

I presently have have the Mavic Pro Platinum with the flymore package and plan to stand pat for a while. I consider myself an advanced beginner pilot even tho this is my fifth drone and will likely consider moving to a Mavic 2 Pro whenever I feel my piloting is worthy. This may also provide a window of time for the real-time use glitches to get resolved. I am less interested in the zoom as I want a better sensor. I am also concerned that running the zoom on top of piloting the UAV will have a challenging learning curve.

This is the hardest decision I've ever made but I think the zoom is the way to go especially not being a genius with the coloring effects in editing great review
hi captain, bought the zoom + fly more combo, didnt get my hands on yet, and thinking of returning it for the autel evo, more than anything because of the price. problem is with the evo id have to add at least another battery, props. If its possible id love to hear your opinion!
The Autel EVO has a great camera. For video image I would say it is better than the Mavic 2 Zoom, especially since it also does 60 FPS. However, that is where the greatness ends. The EVO does not take photos as good as the Zoom does, the EVO does not have all the sensors the ZOOM does, The EVO does not have the obstacle avoidance the Zoom does, The EVO does not have the quickshots and hyperlapse and optical zoom that the Mavic 2 Zoom does. So when you consider the entire package, the Zoom comes out on top for most people.

You're the best vlogger on drones' review..very clear and detailed..I think I'll get the Pro model because of my unconditioned love for Hasselblad. I don't have dubts on aircraft, it's perfect, but I prefer an Hassy camera because the quality is superb.

I really value your opinion. You are very wise and good in prediction of drone market. I personally think they killed Phantom 4 pro series so Phantom 5 launch is imminent.

I got the Mavic Air in Feb. I like the price, size, camera and flight modes.
The pro 2 hyperlapse functions with waypoints are awesome. And zoom function looks great. But the price. Too much for my blood. The MA is right for me. Glad I didn’t wait 9 months for it.

Amazing compact information, Captain. Just a view comments:
Optical zoom is a big plus for 4k, in 1080p it's no difference to Anafi. Digital is just a problem when going beyond a lossless range.
Anafi has hyperlapse too and with Flightplan also fully autonomous, admittedly I didn't test it yet. My guess is, DJI is processing the footage, otherwise it does not offer more than Parrot.
Also you make me wonder how much depht of field you can do with a drone and a wide angle lens, imho the variable aperture benefits keeping the shutter speed constant.
Edit, answering the question: got me an Anafi, suits my needs, keeping my Spark for photography missions (panoramas). I'm a hobbyist only and have neither need nor budget for Mavic, the little more comes at double the price, which is no robbery but the simple all known price/efficiency curve. For me Anafi is on the tangent (point of optimal ratio), Mavic is above it.

Great information about the Mavic 2! For the price it should be a fly more combo, maybe for the holidays? Then I would get one. Happy with the M1P for now.
Great channel and reviews, Will I sell my current Mavic Pro?... I would want both features of the 1" sensor and zoom but I wouldn't buy both models therefore I will buy neither = STRIKE 1..additional power hungry avoidance cameras and a couple on mins more flight time? has necessitated a new battery I assume which means additional batteries and multi chargers will have to be bought (again) = STRIKE 2....The failure to include the 180 feature of the Anafi camera which is actually worthy of the label "see the bigger picture" = STRIKE 3 . In addition the new models won't fit in current Mavic cases so this is just not enough. I expect the original idea was to have the cameras interchangeable (not by sending it away to have a swap) but had issues with this so have taken the lazy option of saying there are two models. I personally will wait for the next incarnation of the Mavic or a Phantom 5 with an even better camera and 360 rotation. DJI are running a risk with this drip feeding sales strategy in a market heading for choppy waters due to regulations and restrictions that will slow sales compared to the last few years. Stronger competition from other manufacturers is also needed.
All good but I think they should've changed the body just a little as well. Maybe gave more of an "Air" look. All incredible drones but I can wait for the price to drop though.
take it out anytime,wind,rain..whenever i want. love it! few problems... the android connection in controller..pain in the butt! lifetime battery is to short...after all,it is amazing!
I certainly love my mavic pro, I think I will wait on these ones, but man, wanna play with one now, but it can wait a couple years.

Thank you. I really like my Phantom 4 Pro. The Phantom handles so differently than a Mavic. To me it is more of a workhorse. But to answer you question, if I had to choose between the 2, I would go for the Mavic 2 Pro.
I have been waiting years for the 1" sensor because I am a photographer and not a videographer. I was hoping Evo would be first but looks like DJI takes the prize. Still.. I like your unbiased reviews and will be looking forward to your final opinion on the quality of the end result of the DJI sensor and "Hasselblad" lens.
Do you think someone at AUTEL will take a look at the Mavic II's, ZOOM & 1 inch Pro and think..............Why didn't we do that.
I have possibly a new idea to add to these "puppies", if you like mention to dji and THEY might like it too!:
Basically an obstacle or distance weak signal Pause and back-up-thru-that-path with warning/info/analysis.
I believe the Phantom 4 Pro was supposed to do that (follow its path home). I don't believe it did.

The pro for sure. The quality is honestly amazing. But having the zoom is extremely useful. Do I wish they just made the pro camera zoom as well so I didn’t need to spend an extra 1250 dollars, yes. Lol. I wud say if you can afford it get both. Also swapping cameras isn’t that hard just a ribbon cable and a few screws so u can do that if you want, it’s plug and play.
Phamton 4 pro ,mavic 2 pro and mavic 2 zoom are the best drones for semi to professional or just hobbies people. There have everything you can ask for. But if ur a professional and want 💯 pecent images and video and you have bussines doing it then the inspire drones and other bigger quads are more better for you.

I have the Parrot ANAFI and I really like the zoom feature on it. It certainly comes in very handy. The increased sensor size in the Pro will only be noticeable in early mornings or late evenings, or overcast days. Post a video from either drone to RUclips will almost look identical.

There is no zoom on the Pro. The zoom you were thinking of on the old Mavic Pro is not the same kind of digital zoom as on the Mavic 2 Zoom.

Great review. It's nice to see someone compare the new DJIs to the parrot anafi that's a fraction of the price. All the other reviews so far are biased towards DJI and just comparing them with each other they won't say anything bad about them. I admit they are a brilliant piece of kit I even had the Mavic Pro myself. I traded it in and bought the Parrot Anafi which is very good and left me with spare cash in my pocket. Some of the new features on the new Mavics are fantastic like the 5 mile range. How can you fly it 5 miles the new drone laws in the UK you have to keep it in line of sight. I would love to see you do a unbiased review comparing the Mavic Pro zoom with the Parrot Anafi on a value for money basis someday.
