    We last drove the Honda Accord Touring in 2018, back when the Hybrid was technically a separate model. With the 11th Generation Honda Accord, hybrid models and traditional ICE-only are all part of the same vehicle, with the hybrid power plant available on higher trims. This Accord Touring Hybrid comes with a 2.0L Atkinson cycle 4 cylinder engine and two electric drive motors, producing a combined 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque, with an e-CVT and FWD. The Touring is the fully loaded trim here in Canada and the United States.
    We hit the road right away in our test vehicle, talking about the specs and pricing, and the equipment you get on this vehicle. Some notable features include Honda Sensing active safety tech which includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane tracing, and more. The 2024 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid has a HUD, 10.2" digital gauge cluster, 12.3" infotainment system running Android Automotive, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a sunroof, 10-speaker Bose audio, backup camera, and keyless entry.
    We discuss some of the improvements Honda has made with this generation Accord, including Body Stabilized front seats, better interior cabin noise control, added interior comfort, and more. We discuss the fuel economy we achieved with this vehicle and how our new 100km Test Loop will work moving forward.

    You should talk about the wheel theft problem with Hondas and Toyotas.
    Here in the states it’s a huge problem and shows no signs of stopping.
    Wheel locks don’t worK( even the aftermarket ones).

    I’ve owned several Accords over the past few decades and this is the first one I truly can’t handle. Accords have always been kind of bland but this one takes the award. That eye sore of a display sticking out like a smashed black thumb nail is just bad to me. This is why I am happily waiting on my new Camry in a few weeks to be delivered. Don't know the specifics of your fuel efficiency test loop, but I am glad I see much better numbers than you have. In 7.5 months and 4000 miles, I am averaging 46.3 mpg in a mix of city and highway with the Touring model. Yes, the numbers aren't that good if you only drive on the freeway at 75 mph +. I am expecting the mileage to drop by 15% to 20% in the dead of winter in WI. But I am fine with that. Certainly better than 22-24 mpg in a compact SUV!

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  11 месяцев назад +2

      Our test loop, like the one I ran in Québec, isn't meant to see how efficient a car is compared to advertised numbers or owners' personal scores, but rather to compare directly to the other cars I drive on the test loop. The 100 kms I test is 79 km highway (Ontario 401) 17 km regional road with an 80 kph speed limit, and the rest in-town. I managed to get 5L/100km or 47 US MPG by the end of my week as I drove a lot in town utilizing the hybrid system. So while your mileage will vary (literally), the test loop will allow me to see how efficient this car is next to everything else I take on the same route.

      @stevehoppenjan 11 месяцев назад

      @@PRNTestDrive My intent was not to challenge your methodology. Just to give another real world example. Your method seems sound to me. Some people's commutes and trips may resemble your loop and others may be completely different. Best wishes.

    • @jeffjo8732
      @jeffjo8732 11 месяцев назад

      @@PRNTestDrive That is a very good methodology. But what I find is that this car has such good torque, that many people will tank their mpg by jack-rabbiting without realizing it. For example, my wife likes my 2018 Accord Hybrid because "when I press the pedal it goes." And she will get about 5 to 10 mpg less than I do over the same routes. The other difference is that I am better at maintaining constant speed.

    I love my ‘21 Accord Touring 2.0T so much! I can’t fathom giving up the power it offers just for the sake of better fuel economy. Fortunately, most of my driving is on the highway, so I average over 30 miles per gallon. I just wish that Honda would have nixed the 1.5T engine, offered the hybrid engine in their core models and kept the 2.0T option for those of us who prefer more gusto. It's the same 2.0T with the DCT is a great engine though. The hardest thing to give up would be the styling. The 10G was much better looking - it was similar to the Acura. The Accord Touring is the only model that looks good..but almost has an Audi feel more than a Honda/Acura.
      I do like the digital dash, wireless carplay, bigger screen, ventalated seats and HUD that aren't on my TLX.

    These pop-up displays are antiquated. It's baffling why manufacturers continue to utilize them; they appear unsightly. Mercedes was the first to introduce this way back in 2014/15. The Toyota Camry featured a sleek dash-integrated display until 2020, but the 2021 model introduced the most unattractive stick-on display imaginable, giving it a cheap look. Mazda has made pop-up displays part of their brand identity. Honda persists with round dials and pop-up displays (God knows why) Only Audi and BMW seem to have mastered the art of beautiful dash design.

When I found out the car did not come with a spare I asked the salesman if one could be purchased. the salesman said I would never in a million years need a spare tire, the exact same explanation the 2009 CTS salesman gave me. The salesman told me it was not possible to purchase a spare through Honda. Apparently Honda DOES read these comments and as of January 2024 have made available through the Honda parts department a Spare Tire KIt at a cost of $500.
      With my CTS I had a flat. Due to the place the piece of metal hit the tire the can pf shaving cream Cadillac gave with the car was useless. I was at the side of Sunrise Highway in Bohemia NY for 8 hours waiting for help. When a tow truck arrived they hooked up the car and towed it to a tire store. In the process of towing the tar they did $3,000 in damage to the transmission. Don't tell me that I am a troll when an otherwise reputable car company takes out what i realize is a VERY CRITICAL feature. The reviewers are mostly silent about the spare, I guess they don't want the flow of cars to review to stop in case they say anything negative.

      I was surprised, I'm not sure what's going on with this generation. SXM might get added as a over the air update down the road, but typically car buyers expect the new model to improve and add features, not take them away.

      Fair enough! This seems to be a controversial generation for a lot of people.

    The civic makes this irrelevant. Civic is almost as roomy and power is similar. Pass.

      I was under the impression Honda made the Civic hybrid for our market, I guess it hasn't launched yet. The Accord is spacious, more so than a Civic, although a new civic is physically larger than my 1990 Accord ever was.

    The design is becoming a joke 🤢🤮

      All the brands seem to be melting their designs into one boring look. The Accord just takes what every other car is/has done and does it the same way. The previous generation looked sharp, this one looks soft.
