ROB, you forgot to mention, after releasing the pressure, you must initiate the Multihundred-Watt radioisotope thermoelectric generator, by pressing on the front trunnion, lower rivets at the same time, until there are 2 audible clicks, seating the PU238 rods into the SIGe thermoelectric couples. This locks the rods in place, and activates the bypass for the gas operating system, so that in the event that the operator fails to properly maintain their weapon system, the PU238 does not go into a runaway and scram.

America didn't need nuclear reactors in its rifles. We gave the M-16/M-4 series a "Sniper Button" to instantly generate more power within the rifle. For those who are unfamiliar with this family of weapons, this is the button that is located behind the ejection port, on the right side of most rifles. Some have done away with this feature, as it is too powerful for civilian use in many locations, but all military rifles have it. When you realize you need maximum power out of your rifle, you press and hold this button with your thumb while pulling the trigger. The bolt will not cycle, as the round you have fired is too powerful, and it would destroy the operating mechanism. You will have to cycle the action by hand.
Most of you have probably heard of the sniper button misconception, but if you haven't, it's worth looking into. It's hilarious stuff.
