Denis. I am from Killarney. I saw your video from 1995 about my town. I'm glad you like it and made it back. It's sad to see the difference the coronavirus is having, for now. I live in Dublin. I saw my father and 2 nephews in your video now.
I go all the time, here now...Love it off season!! The International Hotel is top shelf and my favorite, Neptunes hostel is awesome also, nice folks run it. Tons of good places to eat and party...
There's nothing like it it's like going into a different planet I'm lucky that I have relatives living in co. Kerry I've been to this town it's something you never forget the restaurants delicious food music the pubs the sit inside a famous atmosphere and have a nice drink or some Irish beer or hot Irish coffee it's a place you're never forget ❤️🍀🇨🇮💯🍀
Loved your video! We just returned from the Killarney area. Loved every minute of it. Wish we had more time to explore. Had a great time photographing the beautiful scenery of the place.
Hats off to you Dennis, I am Irish and I can not overstate how interesting and informative your guide videos are, better than those offerings from our TV producers. Thank you!
I knew it. British people tend to give a dig at Irish people in their comments under these videos. Since you are in Northern Ireland (UK) and hail from the UK shouldn't you have clarified you were referring to British tv producers rather than creating the fake impression that you are an Irish person insulting Irish producers? It's a common ploy I see used by British people - pretending to be an Irish person insulting something about his/her own country. I find it interesting but I'm afraid the Brits who use this ploy come across as insecure and even envious of Irish people - an own goal so to speak. Goodbye and I wish you well regardless.
Geez Ray ....WTF was that all about? I can only hope that person doesn't go to any England vs Ireland rugby matches cuz every time they have a scrum she'll think they're talking about her 😂😂
@@raydavies7328 Oh dear, getting your fellow Northern Ireland friend to post a supporting comment just a few hours later?? Seriously, just try and enjoy the Ireland-themed videos without insulting Irish people and then running for support from fellow-Northern Irish friends after you have been caught doing it. There has been enough division between the two communities on the island of Ireland. Just be nice - it's not difficult.
Schönes Video von meiner Lieblingsstadt, Killarney ist so schön ich war schon 3 mal dort in Urlaub . Ich habe so Sehnsucht nach Killarney ,ich hoffe dass ich bald wieder hin reisen kann 💚☘
I’m an American and it’s always been my dream to live in Ireland. I’ve really enjoyed these videos and now I’m super inspired to live in Killarney. I just have no idea how living there, citizenship, and everything else works haha
The Irish government is currently drafting legislation to make it easier for Americans to retire to Ireland. Keep an eye on the website of the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs or ask your American Embassy based in Dublin for more details of this. Best of luck Kay. I hope your dream comes true.
I am American Irish and also would like to move to the Emerald Isle. That's not a big problem for me, but moving with my de Facto partner and the cost of living and housing make a move very difficult. If you can find a high paying job and like living in a small town, have a visit before you buy.
Just fly to Dublin and hide documents before you get off the plane and claim asillum and you will get free money free health care free hotel Ect that would be the best way to come the whole middle East all military aged men are doing it our government has sold out the country don't come here it's a bad place.
Viewing, here, another excellent Dennis Callan video. This is the first I've enjoyed after your Dingle Peninsula project. Following on my comment there, in which I mentioned that Killarney was our home base (a cottage in the suburbs) for our late October-early November 2000 vacation with four in our party: my wife, Rose, her sister Pat, and our brother in law, Eddie Abramoski (who passed June 24, 2022 at 88) the widely admired and respected head trainer of the Buffalo Bills NFL team 1960-1997. (The Bills, favored by an unreasonable 13, had a shaky 34-31 win over the Miami Dolphins, in the first round of postseason games, on Jan. 15). This vido is a fine representation of downtown Killarney, well capturing the variety and vibrancy of the shops, restaurants, and pubs. Many memories of our vacation were renewed with the likes of Quills, the Aran Sweater Store, seeing Casey's store, and others. An item of cuisine we discovered was Banoffee pie (main ingredients bananas, whipped cream, and thick caramel sauce, sometimes with chocolate, coffee, or both) made slightly differently in various restautants. We liked it too well and haven't found it here in the States. All are cordially invited to root for the Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals in the second playoffs round, Jan. 22nd, 3pm Eastern time.
We had 2 days in Killarney .I wish I didn't go for the ring around Kerry and spent the day in town and the park. The ring was pretty but almost the whole day on the bus.I went into town a couple of times for dinner once and to a couple of pubs.Would love to go back
Very nice video, only you state that.Killarney is next only to Dublin in popularity among Irish towns. Well known fact over here that Galway is by far the most visited city outside Dublin
You are correct, two million v one million, Galway-Killarney, thanks for the info. I also cover Galway in several videos, like here: www.myirelandtour.com/travelguide/donegal-sligo/index.php and here: ruclips.net/video/3fJFIxq-9Eo/видео.html
I love Killarney but the way the Irish government has been behaving lately with the influx of young male military aged foreign nationals with no real idea about the culture of this country simply running amok around once rural, idyllic type areas that had little or no levels of major significant physical violence is a major cause for concern. Ireland is changing just look at Dublin over the past quarter of a century and now visiting formerly safe towns and villages well they have now caught up with Dublin, all I can say is this without being alarmist, Ireland is officially unsafe for folk to visit and relax in. Being hospitable used to be the collective disposition of the Irish people, unfortunately most of us Irish these days are afraid in our own communities. It is simply a very different country from the one I grew up in, in the 80s and 90s and during that time I lived in Belfast!
