Thank you so much everyone for all the appreciation I have received on this travel video. I just want to reiterate that these towns are my PERSONAL CHOICES. And like what I have said in my title, these are my top favourite SMALL TOWNS. If you’re an Irish, you will for sure know these towns already but for a normal tourist, they might not know and it is my intention to share about other beautiful underrated towns. Of course, there are other amazing small towns like Adare, Killaloe. There are also comments telling me about the more popular and beautiful places such as Cliffs of Moher, Giants Causeway. Again, I was talking about TOWNS.
I have a separate video where I put MY PERSONAL TOP 10 NATURAL PLACES IN IRELAND where I included Giants Causeway, Cliffs of Moher, Errigal Mountains, Dingle Peninsula, Conor Pass, etc. Please watch my other travel video.
AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE AND SUPPORT THAT YOU ARE GIVING TO MY VIDEO AND CHANNEL. I hope that I can create more contents about Ireland.
Please let me know what else you want me to show in my RUclips channel about Ireland. 😘😘😘

I have finally made the move to Ireland from UK. We started coming over in 2002 with our grandson who was almost 2 at the time and had severe disabilities. He was made so welcome that we brought him over twice more before his death in 2010 and he is the reason we moved over in May 2020. On the first trip we toured and stayed in Westport, Kerry, Dungarvan and Wicklow and Joe had the most amazing time, he didn't have a seizure for 2 weeks and was animated enjoying everything. I only wish he were here now to enjoy ig.

@@ReigneOrShine thank you so much. We are here for good and I know Joe approves and is with us. I also trained as a nurse but the majority of my working life I spent in learning disability, some children but mostly adults. Joe definitely got the value of my experience! I absolutely loved working in the field, service users fantastic but managers and owners not! We also loved our times at the children's hospice where we met some great people and Joe fell in love with a little girl who is still with us, thank God, 19 next month and I am still part of her life.x

I visited all the towns in your video when I spent a month in Ireland in 2019. But when I think about Ireland, my mind is often drawn back to a tiny village I stumbled upon southeast of Kilkenny, called Inistioge. Not much there, but it sits on a beautiful river with a medieval bridge, overlooked by two large churches. Really nice people. When I get back I'd like to stay there for a day or two and do some fishing. Cong is also extremely quaint and scenic, if a little more touristy (from The Quiet Man locations). Westport I think was the most beautiful town I visited, overall. Lots to see and do - I climbed Croagh Patrick nearby, and people bought me so many drinks in pubs that I ended up sleeping in my car. The true West of Ireland. If not for COVID I think I would have moved there already.

A word to the wise, all those drinks you were brought, well you were meant to buy everybody in that group a drink when it was your turn. It's complicated. If you’re with a group of 6 (or 10), everybody in that group buys everybody in that group a round of drinks. If you have to leave early, you buy your round early on so nobody feels cheated. My cousin from Canada made the same mistake and everybody was asking me “when is she gonna buy her round ?” Fodder for next time

Living in Derry it's an obvious place to promote.
Armagh and Navan Museum are just brilliant.
The Causeway Coast and the Glen's of Antrim need to be seen at least once your life. The train from Belfast to Derry is one of THE most beautiful routes in the world.
Inishowen needs a day just for a quick look by car. Port Hawe just north of Buncrana is my favourite unspoilt beach for playing and swimming on summer afternoons.
Donegal in general is Irelands best kept secret. Probably because the roads are only recently upgraded. Donegal Town has plenty to see. Glenties, Errigal, Kincasslagh, Killybegs, Falcarragh is a great area to explore. There's a great sheltered place for swimming and cliff diving near Donegal Airport.
A trip to Sligo should really include The Rosses and the ancient burial site at Carrowreagh as it predates Newgrange.
Yes. I'm enthusiastic about this country I've adopted. Lol

We share the same thoughts about Dublin. We actually live in the capital but we seldom explore the city specially when I am alone. But during our day off, we always go to the countryside which gives us more feel of Irish culture. I am glad that an English said something beautiful about his experience. And I am sure you’re not the only one. Most Irish are very hospitable and tolerates foreigners well like myself and my husband. Come back again soon! Thank you for watching!

Hello. Thank you for commenting. I have been living in Ireland for more than 3 years. I know what you mean but I’m guessing that you only visited the capital (Dublin). The countryside of Ireland is extremely different. People are more polite, friendlier and the smaller towns are calmer and cleaner! The mountains are amazing and I assure you that there are no druggies or beggars in Irish forests or mountains. It is difficult to judge a country based on just visiting 1 or 2 places, most specially the capital. I have experienced physical abuse in Dublin but that doesn’t represent the totality of Irish people because I have met really friendly locals once I am outside the bigger cities.

I was attacked in Dublin had my wallet stolen in Westport by a couple of druggies and was given a whole load or sectarian abuse in a Cork bar whenever they found out I was British!! You did not go to Ireland’s forests and mountains. You went to bar and etc. I was punched and kicked, threw water on in Dublin. But do I describe the whole Ireland because I experienced something shitty? Nope. I remember the good things I have experienced. If I will recommend Ireland to another person, I will tell them to avoid the bigger cities like Dublin or Cork if they prefer a more quiet and calm Irish experience but definitely go to smaller towns WHICH BY THE WAY, THIS TRAVEL VIDEO IS ALL ABOUT. Beautiful! ❤
Birr in County Offaly is worth a visit, on the grounds of Birr Castle Demesne you can see the Great Telescope, built in the 1840s by the third Earl of Rosse; his son Charles Parsons invented the steam turbine which changed the face of seafaring and led to the invention of the jet engine.
Don't forget to drop into J.J.Houghs pub in nearby Banagher for a pint!

Thank you very much for that detailed suggestion. My husband put that on our list of places to visit in Ireland. There are still so many to explore. Hopefully, I can make another video of other beautiful towns of Ireland.

I must say that we always experience better in the countryside as soon as you leave Dublin. We are living in Dublin and we always try to get away from the capital. We enjoy all our experiences in the countryside. We are thinking of making a part 2 of this video since so many suggested other beautiful towns. Birr will be one! Thank you so much! I hope you enjoyed the video.

Lovely video. I notice that all the locations are in the south of the country. You should try Co Donegal next, hard to beat. Ballyshannon, although a bit run down (thanks Donegal Co Co), is the oldest town in Ireland with a history second to none and I will happily discuss that with anyone who thinks differently. I am a local historian there and will be happy to show you around.

thank you very much for watching and for your advice! We went to Donegal for 4 days and it's probably our favourite county in Ireland so far, but we passed most of the time in nature though and this is a video about towns. We will let you know if we ever visit Ballyshannon, it would be great to have a local historian to explain everything to us, thank you so much!
You can check our Ireland TOP 10 Natural Places if you have time, we included few locations on Donegal :)

Lovely vid, I lived happily in Lismore then Dungaravan Co.Waterford from 2001 to 2004 then returned back to England. A great country, but like any country it had pros and cons. Pros: I originate from Yorkshire and never thought I'd meet people as friendly as my old county, but Ireland took the biscuit, great people, a good sense of humour and so very obliging - Stunning scenery, I had views of the mountains from the front of my house and views of the wooded Blackwater Valley to the rear, in England that view alone would have added an extra 200,000 Euro on the cost of the house, but not in Ireland - The food was exceptional quality - The education system was way ahead of the UK and USA (I've lived on both those countries as well) - Outside Dublin the crime rate was low although not exactly non existent - Mild winters.
Cons: The summers are even worse than England's particularly the low temperatures - Cars with large engines are pricy due to the tax you pay on them - Too many American plastic paddy tourists with romantic backward views on Ireland and the only people that I met who were unfiendly. I actually got into a pub fight with some from Boston and I was backed up by local Irish, that said a lot! - Other cons? I can't think of any a great place and I still miss it after all these years.

Summers seem to start getting better, but still too cold for us, haha.
