Loved it thankyou. As with all FNM albums, being able to escape listening to such superb , diverse music played a huge part getting me through the typical sh*t of day to day life. Unique band that is incomparable to any other and has influenced so many. Such a great, down to earth bunch of guys too.
Salute to everyone at THEPIT for taking the time for covering Faith No More's albums bringing light to all these. Great releases thanks
insane album... go back and listen again folks!
Absolutely!
Very solid album, it sometimes doesn't get the kudos it deserves but it's dated quite well.
Dated in a good way maybe.
Because it's their worst album. Not a coincidence that they broke up shortly after.
I have that opinion with the entire Faith No More discography lol.
I saw them on this tour and it was such a great show. It was in ‘97 so I don’t remember much, but I do remember them opening up with Collision and another thing I remember is this one black security guard quickly turning his head when they started playing Easy. He seemed to be like, what the fuck?? After hearing the heavy shit they where playing before that song. 🤣
He said ..."ahhhh shit,,,no they didn't"
Yup... they did and they did that track right on.. FNM is in a way underrated..
I think they were ahead of their time
😂😂 imagine starting the gig with collision. How many other frontmen would have the trust in their voice to start like that?.Patton was something else on that tour.
Having seen them performing the complete set at a solo concert I also saw their show at 97's Bizarre Festival where tge guy standing before me didn't get Mike's microphone art part and complained about them using playback
Stripsearch is a gem! Love that Jon joined the band and left his mark in the band right away.
Mouth to Mouth is a awesome song, gets overlooked alot. Another great Faith No More album
I don't think it's a great album but that it is a great song.
Patton seemed to channel Chuck Mosley on that one. Love it
Yet another legendary band giving kudos to the mighty PronG who are the true legends 👊
Craziest night of my life on this tour, me and a friend I met online, we dropped acid and saw FNM live! On the way home we blasted this album, yelled out the car, threw beer bottles out the window, it's a miracle we didn't get arrested! Later that night at 3am, I got pulled over but played it cool and the cop let us go.. Little did he know we were tripping on acid, out of our minds! I will never in my life forget that night! I STILL get acid flashbacks listening to this album, always takes me back to that night! Absolute insanity!🤘
Love this album .🤘🏻🎱🤘🏻
Paths of glory is a solid song for me.
You squirt out red and turn so yellow... Paths Of Glory is an amazing song!!!
@@wc1994, I can't go alone
Stonker! 🤪
"Helpless" is my absolute favorite FNM song!
“Helpless” is the epitome of classic FNM. Glad to agree with you.
"Tried to get arrested today but everyone looked the other way...." Amazing song 👍
One of my favorite, too.
Stripsearch and Pristina are my two favourites but the whole album is fantastic.
Agree with both plus Last Cup of Sorrow. I think Pristina in particular is underrated, a haunting but serene classic.
Mouth to mouth and Helpless always get overlooked but in my opinion are monster tracks too.
Got it on vinyl yesterday 😃 excellent album. The cover of This Guy's In Love With You on the bonus tracks record is amazing!
Sure is I love this version.
This album doesn’t get the love it deserves so it was good to see this here. :)
How perfect that I bought this on vinyl at the exact same time this video premiered!
I was in a pretty gnarly place in my life when that album came out. I can't listen to it without the memories of that time... which a lot of music does.
Last cup of sorrow
Very interesting that Jon Hudson was the primary songwriter on "Stripsearch" as that's one of my all time favorite FNM songs.
Listen to his old band Systems Collapse, they were really heavy on synths
FNM we need a new album!
Heard the "Sol invictus" after their reunion? Fairly different again. They don't repeat anything,I guess.
My favourite album so many memories listening to this and saw the show
This album kept me from dying inside & outside🙏😓❤
Nice, Paths of Glory has become one of my favorite FNM songs, Pristina is the perfect closure fot the band, very unique album, and got 3 of the most solid "singles" by the band, Helpless almost was the fourth as i read.
Helpless is 🔥 & so is Mouth to Mouth
One of my favorite albums this and King for a day and of course Angel dust
This was the only FNM tour I missed in the 90’s. I was broke as fk but what a great album. I also remember buying a Patton solo album around that time and laughing my ass off.
This is all so tastefully done. Thank you!
These are great. Keep them coming!
Great album. Angel Dust will always be my favorite but this one is up there.
Saw them on this tour back in 98 Wolverhampton civic hall, great gig I had photographed bits of that gig and bumped into Bill and Roddy on the balcony they were really cool with us and we got photos too. love the album, as I do all their work. Can't believe it came out 25 years ago, fuck.
❤️
Really enjoying these vids
Got it the week it came out...Great album, has aged very well.
Saw them on this tour and didn't get it at the time... Damnit!
" Mike Patton writes really strong lyrics" - understatement of the year about album of the year.. Thanks, Roddy aka Captain Obvious
Lol. What should he say, he's the greatest lyricist ever
we really want another album, please we deserve it! yes we have 6 albums but 7 is a lucky number! #faithnomore
Still on of my favorite FNM albums, I've been listening to it just recently. I got to see them on that tour and it was amazing.
Loving this FNM series!👍
Ty
Saw you guys at Nottingham Rock City with Prong on the Real Thing tour. Fucking awesome gig. Mike P got my friend back in after he’d been kicked out for stage diving. I also remember the drummer from Prong being a beast.
This album was actually my introduction to Faith No More, together with Live at Brixton
Same here. My best friend's older brother owned AotY and Live at Brixton was the first album I ever bought
While not my favorite FNM album, I find myself coming back to some of these amazing songs more often than songs from their other albums
Respect to Freddy Roach for having such extensive knowledge on Faith No More.
'Not mountain lion...!' 😂
When they nail it, FNM are one of the best bands EVER. 👌
WE miss you guys... 🙇♂️
Time to bring it back home. ❣️
For me every FNM song is a gem. When's the next album coming out?
Underrated. Maybe I'd put it a tad under the previous two masterpieces ( K.F.A.D. is to me the other face of Angel Dust, both these are two of my favourite records from the '90s) but still a great album.
Finding out metallica fans dont like faith no more speaks so much about their followers, lol.
Metallica can (and does) suck arse
Never really liked Metallica, now it feels even more justified
First off, Metallica is infinitely more popular then FNM, so of course most of their fans don't lik them. If they did FNM would have been huge.
Its hard for this album to get the praise it deserves cuz it waS released so soon after the classic King for a day! Which could very well be the greatest L.P. of alltime!!
i really love the side A of the album , but for some reason i never get into the whole side B
My god they toured with Kyuss??
How come Patton isn’t in any of these videos?
Faith No More and Mr Bungle cancelled their tour dates last year due to Mike Patton having to take a break for his mental well being. I guess he his still struggling with that or getting better. So I don't think he'd want to do interviews right now. I hope he's ok.
@@angusbeefballfro I was afraid to read that. I had heard he was going thru some mental health issues. Hope he’s ok.
I hope he doing better. He’s a great person. Love all his work. I would kill to see him and the bands
Puffy, no fond words on opening for Billy Idol? Hehe
We still got no signals of Mike Patton?? 😥
He released new music, dead cross is out now
how many questions did he ask?
Cuckoo for caca is for real FNM heaviest tune.. that fakking bass sound is summoning some evil spirits incl.Patton
That one's not on this album. 😀
Why do I have this feeling Mike is never coming back? Like he’s gonna pull a Captain Beefheart and retire from music forever :,(
Same. Puffy looks depressed in the video to.
I hope not. But it's also almost been a year. I've only had the pleasure of seeing him once with Dead Cross.
Dead Cross releasing a new CD. First track is already out. But i'm more worrying in can mike ever sing again - like he used to do in FNM - with the impressive high range? 🤔
@@jackblack4593 I’m just glad he’s semi back, I read his latest interview about his diagnosed agoraphobia and how he’s been in treatment for alcoholism. I’m relieved he got help. We’ve lost too many great singers the past five years, to lose him would have crushed me
Collision. Paths of Glory & Home Sick Home are the only Songs i skip...the rest of the Album is Amazing!
Collision is a lot better live than on record.
@@musicismyfriend7919 I've heard both versions. It just doesn't do it for me. Got that Feeling would've been a better album opener in my opinion
@@RestrainingHollywood I hear ya. I think Ashes to Ashes would've probably been the best choice for the opening track.
It always feels like Patton ready to leave FNM for good. Bordin depressed, Gould like whatever, Bottum kind of distant. Idk
That's amazing they're creating it and not hearing it. Lol
I was a hardcore FNM fan by the time this album came out and I so wanted it to be as great as the two records that had directly preceded it. But even then it was oddly disappointing. I don’t know why exactly, if it’s the production, the songwriting or Jon Hudson’s rather uninspired guitar work, but every song seemed to be lacking something. Even “ashes to ashes” seems somewhat vapid in the chorus. So much reverb, and the guitar is only downstrokes. It seems like something’s missing or not quite finished. That wasn’t the super creative band that had always paid so much attention to detail. Maybe they were just burnt out by then. Unfortunately, I cared even less for “sol invictus”. Doesn’t take anything away from their most glorious moments, though, which are still unparalleled by any band.
It did lack some familiar heaviness they did prior to that album. I do remember it for the first time as different. It did grow on me over time. I never disliked it or loved it.
i've rarely listened to any songs off this album, the drums, bass and guitar all sound dull and the songs are not as good as they could be.
It’s different. Less funky, less crazy, less aggressive, but very dark. And I love dark
They broke up shortly after this. I don't think they were in a good head space. Roddy barely contributed. Yet another guitar player. Jon isn't as good as a songwriter as Jim or Trey. It doesn't have a feel to it, it's just a collection of songs.
Solid album, but their worst imo. I really like Ashes to ashes, Mouth to mouth, Helpless, and Last cup of sorrow
