After that it was never the same, consisting largely of terrible reality shows and preachy political messaging. It just seemed less like music television after that. It was great from the early days and Down Town Julie Brown, Headbangers Ball, Countdown, Yo MTV Raps, Beavis and Butthead, Kennedy, etc. Anything after that era is basically rubbish imo

Seems like Layne was never the same after he ODd on I think it was a van halen tour, and after he died and came back he just went back to his apartment and slowly killed himself. I just lost a friend last week who was probably 24 or 25. An innocent soul tormented by lack of spirit in others, and so they lower themselves to be like the rest. This wasn't Yo MTV Raps. This was "Da Show", which was a short lived variety show that happened to have been hosted by Dr Dre and Ed Lover. I saw a lot of bands on that show that you wouldn't normally see on MTV otherwise, like the Leningrad Cowboys, Cycle Sluts From Hell, and Life Sex Death.
I've been a big fan of FNM since I was a kid and Mike's vocal range is out-fuckin-standing but my greatest frontman of all time is definitely Layne Staley. Always will be. No offence,Patton.... you're a legend🤗

I have memories of the FNM tape next to Pretty Hate Machine on the stereo shelf and my mom switching between them.

No one caught Billy Goulds T-shirt of the band LAPD a pre pre KORN band that Munky and Dave used to be in that were getting a lot of underground buzz leading up to that year then Forming the Band Creep with Feildy.Dave and Munky that was the nucleus of what KORN would become and were huge fans and heavily influenced by Faith No More and Mikes former band at the time Mr. Bungle.

I liked Billy Gould's slap in Edge of the World. I miss listening to Jim Martin. Such a master on the guitar, alas he was impossible to work with.
Martin got camera-shafted during his solo on Saturday Night Live too when Patton meandered into the greenhouse fan that was part of the set in 1990.
That's not really a solo. Its more of a bridge with a developed guitar riff.
