I just found this video and it made me happy to hear your concept of just do what you love and make it just to make it. One of the reasons I do not make journals is because I always say to my self "but what am I gonna use it for?" It never occurred to me that it's my artwork and it's for me not for anyone else. Thank you I feel like I can actually play with my papers and magazine clippings now simply to enjoy them. I love paper and color.... thank you! you made my day!

Watching this helps me be OK with the many Journals For No Reason that I have. It makes it OK that I make a journal out of anything and just collage and paint as I please. I find it very relaxing. Great collection of journals for no reason. Like you I sometimes create journals and they look like nothing more than a series of backgrounds or starting point for something else but I can't bear to touch them as I like them as they are. Love Big Bertha and totally love the sound of crinkling paper :)

Love this. Just saw a small journal for no reason you were using in one of your recent videos and it inspired me to make one too! I tagged you in it. Think you saw it. But exactly what you said in the end rings true to me. When I start started art journaling at the end of last year I got discouraged because if I didn't finish page and have this gorgeous presentable piece, I got upset. Now? Forget it. Sometimes I just glue pages together and prep a new journal. Sometimes I just slap paint on paper and leave it. Who cares? I just want to make something every day. If I don't, it's like I have an itch I can't scratch. As always. Love your videos. Hope you are well.

Jumpstarting my battery. I'm decluttering boxes and bins for 60years till now in my 15 room house. My house spouse has despised my habit for the 53years of marriage where I tear out pages and pictures of doctor's office visits!!!! Now I know what to do WITH it all. No burning bin for them. Love!!! Useful handmade items are great but if I had to have a use for everything I made, I would rarely make stuff and that would be a sad thing!

The composition book was really cool. I loved them all each unique. I really like seeing the phone book one, I am planning on doing one with a small phone book .

Love the way you explain these journals! So much fun. The hobonichis scare me because of the daily commitment involved. I have a junk journal I just pull out when I feel like it and do whatever I feel like at the moment.

So nice to see 'Bertha'. An inspiring video to a very newbie art journaler. I think a journal for no reason is the way to go for me as I haven't got an arty background and am struggling for inspiration.

Love this. Just saw a small journal for no reason you were using in one of your recent videos and it inspired me to make one too! I tagged you in it. Think you saw it.
But exactly what you said in the end rings true to me. When I start started art journaling at the end of last year I got discouraged because if I didn't finish page and have this gorgeous presentable piece, I got upset. Now? Forget it. Sometimes I just glue pages together and prep a new journal. Sometimes I just slap paint on paper and leave it. Who cares? I just want to make something every day. If I don't, it's like I have an itch I can't scratch.

Jumpstarting my battery. I'm decluttering boxes and bins for 60years till now in my 15 room house. My house spouse has despised my habit for the 53years of marriage where I tear out pages and pictures of doctor's office visits!!!! Now I know what to do WITH it all. No burning bin for them. Love!!!
