F2p pking is like fighting under water
As someone who did nothing on rs but pk in membs for 10 years before switching to f2p pking, I’ve found that my most challenging fights were when I was fighting people with my rune scim and club while they were wearing full rune and some of my easiest fights were when I had a g maul, spec and veng. But I don’t like to compare the two because I don’t think one is easier than the other, they’re both just different from each other.
F2p is blatantly easier with less mechanics to manage@@IHUNTMAINS
@@IHUNTMAINSBut f2p is indeed easier though. You spend the entire fight just hovering around food in your inventory. You never have to move to spec, or change prayers, or armour off to force a veng proc, just eat and swap to r2h.
Yeah, they’re different, but one is literally easier and less complex by design.
If you took somebody who had exclusively done f2p pk for years and threw them in members, they would not dominate.
If you did the opposite and took a members pker and put them in f2p where all they have to do is shortbow to r2h/rba, as soon as they work out their max hits, its game over - because it’s easier.

When I arrived to F2P PKing for the first time, I could keep up with average players because of my experience PKing in members but dominating? no. You're not just walking into F2P and dominating the best F2P Pkers lol.
I'll use Odablock for an example for a moment because he's well known as a decent P2P pker for the modera era: If you're a very experienced F2P pker and you watch someone like Odablock try F2P Pking, which he has, he does fine but there's no real substance. He's pking in F2P exactly as you would expect him to. He doesn't automatically become one of the best. To add to this: you can see him doing riskfights in P2P for billions each fight, do you think he would be as confident risking those same amounts against the best riskers in F2P? Not a chance & that's not without reason.
Take two players, both of them mastered P2P pking mechanics to the same extent. What's the goal? To kill each other. How do they kill each other when they make no mistakes & each of their moves perfect? Besides relying on RNG, they would try to be deceptive & unpredictable so that their opponent would make a mistake. Once you "master" F2P PKing mechanics, it's the same thing but you just play in different ways because you're using different tools to achieve the same end result, defeating the opponent.
How difficult each individual player finds it to learn the mechanics I feel is irrelevant. I don't think that should make F2P Pking easier than P2P Pking overall. What I think that really means is it just makes F2P Pking *easier for less experienced players.* That doesn't mean you can't advance to be in the top-tier.
At the top-tier level, you could even argue that it's more difficult to get a kill in F2P because you DON'T have things like veng. But I wouldn't consider that to be true, like I said, I don't like to compare the two because I don't think one is easier than the other, they're simply just different from each other.
@@IHUNTMAINS I’m using the collective “you.” Not you specifically as a person. I’m not attacking or mocking you. You just made a video, and it’s easier and reads better than saying “someone,” “one,” or “a player” every time. All pkers (p2p or f2p) constantly hover over their food, what I meant is that an f2p pker never has to change their interface. They can stay in the inventory tab for the whole fight.

Respectfully, you haven’t actually given a reason as to what makes a master f2p pker so different from a p2p pker. You say that ‘you just play in different ways & you’re using different tools,’ but It’s the same as msb to g maul (without the spec of course), or msb to obby maul. So what I’m asking you is what nuance is there outside of knowing the max hits? What different tools & ways are you working with? You say that ‘he does fine but there’s no real substance.’ What is this substance? Can you give me an example?

I agree, but I didn’t say otherwise so I don’t know where that’s coming from. F2p pking is a more simple (and therefore easier) pking style by design. There is literally less to do, less to consider, and less split second decision-making to do, which also means there is less room for error. These are all facts. I said something along the lines of, ‘all you do is shortbow to r2h/rba’ - am I wrong?
Yeah, you definitely could argue that it’s harder to get a KILL because you don’t have veng or spec but that would not mean f2p pking is harder - It means it’s slower. The best pker isn’t the best pker because he has killed 10,000 players and everyone else has killed 9999 - he’s the best because of the way he uses the game’s mechanics to outplay his opponent. That’s why people like to say chanced. “That should have been my kill. I checkmated you, but the numbers didn’t pull through.”
In f2p, there’s an unsaid agreement to not safe, right? You both stay at a hp level where, with good rng, one could shortbow into 1 tick r2h for the KO. It’s not like you’re actually doing anything extra to secure the kill. If one player says “f this, I’m gonna safe up” and stays at 70hp all fight, then yeah it’s harder to get the kill. Or we could use your example of you saying it was more challenging to beat a guy in full rune with your scim and club. I think this is where we differ because I wouldn’t describe that as challenging. You’re just waiting for RNG to line up. It’s not like you outplayed him with some gaming wizardry, nor did he “challenge you” and force you to step up your game. His defense bonuses are just good, and your offense bonuses are just trash. Lol. I would just describe that as slow.
Like I said before, I’m purely saying that f2p is a more simple pking style. More simple = easier.
For the perfect, veng, armour off, berserker ring > ags > triple eat. The player has to do FAR MORE, than an f2p player does. That is the definition of easier. You don’t even have to focus on recoils.
Fair enough if you don’t like to compare the two, and yes, they are different from each other, but one is also clearly easier than the other. Again, this isn’t me attacking you or anyone who enjoys f2p pking. I’m not walking around smugly thinking to myself: “Man, I’m so good at this game. Look at all these f2p noobs!” But to say that f2p is not easier, is outrageous to me, man.

No point in killing him. You don't get anything for the member items and they can just come back and pick them up within 2 minutes or it all disappears.
