    I like this. The reason "mid game" feels so massive is because... it is. If you combine all of these other tiers together into one of course it's huge. Breaking it down like this seems very sensible. The "Adventurer" tier alone is pretty significant - barrows and fc can take a while.

    even these tiers are huge
    I'm toward the end of tier 2 as an iron, but the most significant milestone was only a few dozen hours into tier 1.
    specifically: The biggest leap for me was fairy rings, 50 magic, a source of law runes (GoTR), and an Ardougne Cloak 1.
    simply being able to get around quickly makes a _huge_ difference to the overall feel of the game, even more so than something like barrows gloves or a fire cape.

      I just finished my medium lumbridge diary, and im working on ardy tier 2 (Got a few quests to finish). GOTR has been huge. It greatly increased my cash stack (farming toadflax and doing birdhouses as well). Not to mention the massive amount of runes ive got from it.

  • @iRsemple

    Pretty shocked at the first two tiers.
    They seem like they are designed for sweat lords.
    When I create a new runescape account, I'm not thinking about immediately buying bonds and speed running base 75s with a 100m bank.
    There's a huge jump from finally earning 100k, to finally having a some of the members-quests done with a cool piece of gear or two.
    Then I start considering even attempting things like barrows or getting a stat up to 75, and this probably takes months of gameplay for someone who's not a try hard.
    I know it's tough to make tiers that work for both casual players that take months to progress and dedicated players that can do the same in less than a week.
    But it still feels strange to know that it takes like a year of casual gameplay to finish only tier 2 ):

      Yeah this video is trash.
      The correct way is to run to stronghold of security for 10k gp, buy fire staff from Zaff, 300 mind runes, 600 air runes from Aubury, and keep them for fire strikes, then follow efficient ironman quest guide, it leads you through quests like witches potion and imp catcher that gets you close to lv13 magic, you should spend leftover money to get to 13 magic, then continue following the guide and fire strike any bosses that aren't immune to magic.
      You will need to train magic eventually, and earth striking cows is boring as shit, what excuse do you have not using your time on fire striking khazard warlord instead? It's actually ridiculous that you can just use lv13 magic spell to btfo a guy who has like 100 combat levels more than you do, and that's what runescape is all about.
      You will actually have fun and learn that this game doesn't require you to be rich to have fun and progress steadily, every small unlock will be meaningful and every 2k gold you get from a quest will feel rewarding, eventually you will be back to 10k+ gold except now you've done a bunch of quests and your stats are higher and you can do things you couldn't before, this includes things that make money, such as farming, hops farming, birdhouses...
      Your goal should be highest amount of progress in shortest amount of time, for least amount of gp. The less gp you need spent, the less gp you need to earn in the first place, and early game you can't earn a lot quickly. This means early game should be spent doing quests and grinding things you truly want to grind. You want that graceful set? Go for it anytime. You don't have that much time for questing so you will afk MLM as one quest will eventually need 72 mining? Sure, go at it... You don't want to do quests and want to kill things instead? Yeah sure, 99 slayer is waiting for you either way, you will eventually get annoyed that slayer could be faster if you did more quests, and go back to doing more quests... Things like that are way more important than having X amount of gold, lmfao.
      And most importantly, remember, all unspent gold is being wasted because of constant inflation, spend your cash stack for gear you want or levels you need today, so you don't regret it tomorrow, there's quite literally 0 excuses for having 10m raw gold as a new player unless you just sold a bond and will spend it in the next tick.

      It's a macro look at account progression noting the various major breakpoints. There's still room between each tier to gain meaningful upgrades. If you aren't a "try hard" focused on progression you don't need a video breaking down account progression to validate you because it's not aimed at you. Play the game how you want.

    • @Seenan5
      @Seenan5 2 месяца назад

      My OSRS account is 96 days old (a chunk of it was afking) and granted, I did get hacked..twice (in the same week) so I probably lost 10mil at least, but according to this guy, I'm still Tier 1.5 since I don't even have 100m worth of bank value...but I do have pipe, barrows gear, fang even, quest cape, Fire Cape, and a lot of my gear is within the 1st (usually 2nd)-4th BiS range (depends on the activity).
      I think he needed to think about this video more cause these tiers seem ludicrous. I stopped watching after he said T2 was 100mil of bank value. I watched some of his other vids (probably about bossing), so it's not the creator I dislike.
      And absolutely no one is gonna buy a bond instantly as a new player and sell it (they may not even know it's sellable?) unless they really want to invest themselves in the game. Even then, 10mil might help get your stats up but you're still going to be SOL about realistically progressing your quests, achievements, etc because all you'll know how to do is run through quests using a guide and whacking random mobs to level up. This advice is only good if you wanna make an alt as fast as possible. I have never considered p2w with my 15 year+ old account (I played since RSC on OG RS), only pay to...access content (IE members).

    150k gear to 70m gear is a 46566% increase. 70m gear to 1.5b gear is a 2042% increase. I personally think it makes some sense to categorize the entire 150k to 1.5b range as the mid game. It encompasses the entire journey and really separates the beginning from the end. Just like with most things in life, it starts off really slow and tedious and starts to snowball later on down the road. Interesting video :)

    This feels like a really good video! As someone that has only experienced OSRS as an iron I'm not quite sure where to go sometimes, but then I realize that the trade restriction I've thrown onto myself probably means that pushing levels is probably a higher prio than gear, as that will allow getting the gear to be a lot smoother as well. Just feels a little bad creeping towards Base 90s with a Dscim, Ibans & RCB sometimes

      I don’t have a bp but rcb to bp seems fine to me because tipped bolts up to runite are plenty strong.
      I’m not cool with Iban’s to trident. That’s insane… but they just added the warped sceptre.

      tbh to me all that makes your account low, mid, and top tier is total lvl and quest completion, also diaries and stuff like that.
      just because you got 1b doesint mean much in the grand scheme of things, i mean the difference that most gear gives is negligable and the only things that make a huge difference is the weapons really.
      for example, going from fighter torso to bandos chest piece isint that much of a difference so technically doesint change much. it just feels like its more of a status thing then anything, lol, i mean i seen people pull off high end content in the pseudo mid tier gear (torso, d legs, neitz, whip, etc).

    I personally use 4 stages. They're still kinda long, but I find it still a good guage. Early, mid, late, and endgame. Early is the rune set, mid is your fighter torso set (predominantly free to earn items), late would be the Bandos set, and endgame is Torva. The main thing is that early is learning, mid is progression galore, late is hard content, and endgame is raiding, Inferno, maxxing, etc. And most players stop at mid-late game.

Maxed inferno 3b bank 15 pets, but now I have been grinding the ironman and just got to tier 5 with somethings to catch up on. Also forgot to add the best gear for mage on here but the Occult should be bought asap if you are planning on doing mage for any pvm content.

    • @EricCLefebvre
      @EricCLefebvre 9 месяцев назад +1

      Idk.. I feel like that's a misconception. There's a lot you can do to speed up grinds. If you do 2-3 herb runs a day you can make an extra 500k+ daily with very little effort. You can do nmz to practically afk combat stats to higher levels to take on better pvm.. the most important thing is to do what you want. Set one goal at a time and enjoy the process.

    • @shinobuoshino5066
      @shinobuoshino5066 8 месяцев назад +1

      Why would anyone want to become an endgame player?
      OSRS endgame is just pointless grinds for no reason at all because you're already maxed and already have all relevant big unlocks.
      What I mean by that is prayers like rigour, this is actually huge for any account and feels good once you unlock it. Same with elite void. Even lumbridge elite diary is more relevant than any endgame "unlocks" that aren't useful for anything.
      Unless you get lucky in Cox and get Tbow 1st KC, Tbow is literally an irrelevant unlock.
      Oh cool wow you can kill shit faster, who cares you already practically beat the game and have 0 reason to continue grinding at that point. It's quite literally everything before then that makes this game fun and if you think otherwise you're a biggest clown on the universe because if you need tbow to have fun you can work at mcdonalds for a few months and buy gold then go into ge and cash in your tbow, fun game bro.
      I'm not sure what content even requires a Tbow, maybe if you want to do inferno then it's gonna help a lot, but what then, once you beat inferno, you beat the game, there's no more fun to be had, it's not like +4 str bonus will make you able to do relevant content that you couldn't before because hardest content in the game is how you get the cape in the first place.
      People who make runescape videos keep making new accounts, whether it's HCIM series where they keep dying randomly or PvP builds even though noone does PvP in 2023... Because the only fun to be had is while the number in your stats screen can still go up without a need to hover over any icons to notice a difference.
      The fact that majority of skills in this game are completely worthless the moment you get QPC level requirements doesn't do the game any favors.
      Sure, herblore makes gp later on and is useful in raids... But the only reason to do raids is to hope for big drops because once you're able to do raids the only fun you have is that 1 tick where purple colored text shows up in your textbox.
      People do crafting to 99 literally for no other reason than crafting cape for fast banking, so on and so forth...
      This game is so boring once you actually achieve your goals it's almost cringe to think about.

    My take as 2:00 minutes in of game tiers' Intrigued
    End game: I feel like torva is more "end" game than late. You would class Tbow and Tumukens staff as end game, Torva being in the 1b+ range justifies that imo.
    Late game: Bandos being late (including Prims, fang, Fero, Tort etc.)
    Mid game: Barrows w/ whip, fury. (possible with a few miss match late game items)
    early game: would be the anywhere from rune items to miss-matched mid game items

    Mid game is just the modern way of distinguishing who is a noob or not tbh. A sweaty veteran player would never feel like he was in some sort of mid game on a fresh account with 0 gp as he would progress his account in an efficient manner which would make him never actually struggle. Content creators and streamers making new irons all the time is a good example of this. The only way to "escape" the mid game is just git gud. This was a nice video in giving some sort of direction to this progression of mindset.

    I think that the approach I like the best is:
    Stop giving a crap about where or what you are in the game. Don't care about the early, mid, late, and endgame bullshit and just go out there and find things you enjoy.
    For me, I fucking love the quests in this game, with some exceptions of course...~Rat Catchers~
    I love the potential of getting pets, I like the crafting and just casual money making processes. Lately I have gotten a big liking to Duke SUCC for being so damn chill but in the past it was Sarachnis that I really enjoyed fighting.
    Just slowing scraping by, overcoming the bond grind as I went.
    The process is the best experience in my opinion. Don't rush to shit. Read the dialogues of quests, who knows, maybe you'll actually fall in love with this whacky world like I have.
    (No, seriously tho, quests are actually super good in this game.)

      What's tough is if what you enjoy is something like maybe doing a raid with friends. Then you convince your friends to make accounts and you all start grinding for a year and eventually everyone has quit and your account still is too weak to try raids even with strangers so in the end it feels like you just had a second job (grinding) and it was a waste of time. ):

This clown game takes 0 effort to get into raids, especially when you don't need any good gear either, just void armor is enough. The moment you start doing raids, you will be able to afford real gear anyway.

    As an Ironman (btw), the slayer grind alone felt like the midgame... Early game was prepping for an efficient slayer grind, Mid game was actually grinding to 95 slayer, and Late game is all the fun bossing you get to enjoy after unlocking all the content from slayer. Slayer solves every problem an Ironman has: it gives you unlimited gp, supply drops, and unlocks a boat load of important bosses and gear as well. You'll be doing slayer literally for months, and it will feel like it's never going to end, but once you finally hit that 95 slayer and can just start doing whatever the hell you want, it feels like you're finally out of the mid game and can do the cool shit you've been working towards since the start of the account.
    Love the video and the new perspective on account progression.

    10M is the target for beginner tier? I guess that tier does just include literally the majority of the game.
    In all seriousness I do appreciate the separation of the "mid game" into sections as that definitely feels more realistic, whether or not I feel those specific tiers apply.
    Getting quest cape in like a 5M gear setup overall wasn't the worst thing ever, even with DT2. Sitting at base 70's in every skill and getting all hard diaries was similar of a step. Honestly I'm just faced with the money wall at this point in my feeling of progression. Still working on my first Fang, though being the person who needs to buy bonds with gold definitely slows things to a crawl.

    • @GizzyPope
      @GizzyPope 9 месяцев назад

      Best way to get over money walls (prior to going for megas) is to just focus on other things. Money always comes with time especially if you are skilling,especially slayer. Once you get to about 65 sayer is when you make money a little faster in slayer. At 75 you can afk gargoyles with a ring of wealth and bring alch runes and not need to even be on task. Of course there’s bossing and other menial tasks such as cooking for money, doing early ToA etc. but in my experience as a maxed player with a near maxed bank, it was more fun with less gear than most gear.

      literally noone makes 1m/day from farm runs on lv3 account with no quests done unless they make it their job, getting hosidius favor to prevent disease on that patch and a good teleport to it alone is quite a bit of work.
      All of those small things add up to a big grind, and that grind is more relevant than having 10m gold, guy who made this video wears full jester outfit in real life.

      @@shinobuoshino5066 where did i ever say a level 3 could make the same? All I said is that I make 1 m a day doing farm runs. I dont get why you delved that deep into a small comment stating farming herbs is profitable lol quite the overreaction tbf but you do you

      @@shinobuoshino5066 but i sure as hell am a mid level account, sitting on 1600 total being 85 combat. So nothing too crazy, my point was that farm runs alone can make people bank if you do it consistently. Even without trollheim/trollweiss patch. And doing the achievements and quests for the patches/teleports is not only easy as fuck but also necessary to progress your account. All your statements are quite irrelevant tbh
