The new idrive 8 and 9 systems are poorly received by customers. Its a hassle to change settings or look at route options while driving when all you can do is poke a screen instead of phsycial buttons. Its change, and its the future. Not everyone likes the direction BMW is going. Some do

0-60mph S8 = 3.7 seconds RS6 = 3.3 seconds M8 comp = 2.8 seconds Quarter mile S8 = 11.7 seconds RS6 = 11.4 seconds M8 comp = 10.8 seconds M8 comp is more in line with the R8 in terms of performance. RS6 would be more in line with the M4 comp and the S8 be more with the M760i
BMW only went with the larger single piece dual displays in the 2023+ models. The curved ID8 display its significantly cheaper to manufacture and uses less components, at first glance it does look more futuristic but it’s a lower quality display overall with less brightness and pixel density. even though it’s physically larger. ID8 wrap around display also buries all the climate control functions into software so yet another thing for you to lose physical connection over vs ID7 or in the M8, which uses ID8 software but ID7 displays. Ask anyone and they will tell you Id7 physically is vastly superior. When I got my G82 M4 comp I specifically looked for a 2022 model since even those got the ugly poverty spec displays. The M8 is the only new model to still feature these.
as Maserati owner , i dont like this sound. cant explaine excactly, feels like something wrong with it. like an invisible propeller plane somewhere in the sky, u hear its coming but dont know from where.
i have a m8 and the exhaust sound matches to fake sound %100 when i open the window so i hear exhaust sound and no need to play with the police. not that bad.

BMW's have a limiter at 250kph and 300kph (with m sport package) although it sometimes pushes itself a little bit further
