    Donna Summer is
    Thee Female Pop Singer!!!
    (Bette Midler agrees)
    She can sing other singers songs but other singers can't sing her songs. Isn't that funny. Donna has the VOICE which is a God given gift. She is truly one of a kind.

      Not underrated at all

    • @ask4theupgrade359
      @ask4theupgrade359 3 года назад +4

      I guess he meant “underrated”, as in she was first pigeonholed as a disco singer, when she sang many generes, then later blacklisted by the Music industry, after some homophobic comments that were taken out of contents in an interview article, so for a few decades, her recording career was stifle.
      However, she was on the come up…when she died privately from cancer - she never trusted the media again so didn’t share it publicly, but she always appreciated her millions of fans. We were the ones that were shortchanged by her not doing covers of a Motown song book , Carpenter songbook, Beatles songbook, Standards songbook, Gospel, etc

      @@ask4theupgrade359 Yes, she was initially pigeon-holed as a disco artist but rather quickly proved to her many fans, including her disco fans, that she could sing anything (her great version of "MacArthur Park" pretty much dispelled any doubts). The downturn in her recording career happened partially because the ridiculous * "death to disco" movement put an end to disco as a national fad. When Donna tried on a more pop-rock style beyond her smash hit "Hot Stuff" the problem was mainly that the material and arrangements were weaker although she still had a few post-disco hits. It didn't help that she said something in an interview that led her huge number of disco fans, many of them gay, to get the impression she was ashamed of the sexual nature of some of her hits. I was in the discos and heard about this but I got the impression if she put out another track like "Bad Girls" or "I Feel Love" she would've bounced right back. Instead, she moved on to Mercury and then Geffen with mixed success. It just didn't quite work as well as her Casablanca output. * Did disco really die as a result of the "death to disco" nonsense? Noop! It just put on a new hat and morphed into Billboard's " Hot dance music" charts. It did not even really die for Ms. Summer. Her last big hit was in fact a disco record, the glorious "This Time I Know It's for Real".

    Ms. Summers could do what only a handful of other singers male or female singers could do. And that is to just sing the damn song. Not remake it but to interpret and sing it. It's not the big voice because folks like Ms. La Belle has bigger. It wasn't vocal aerobics because she rarely if ever did a run. She just did like Ms. Fitzgerald, Ms. Simone, and Ms. Ross and that is open your mouth and sing.

    Pocas voces como la que nos brindo Donna Summer tenía una voz increible con todo tipo de matices en una misma canción podía cambiar y flexibilizar su voz como casi nadie lo podía hacer la única para mi que se podía igualar es Whitney Houston para mi las dos mejores cantantes de la historia cada una con su estilo Donna Summer mucho más completa en cuanto a que durante su carrera canto todo tipo de estilos musicales aunque fue conocida como la Reina de la música Disco 💿 y desde luego que lo fue pero su repertorio es impresionante yo la empecé a seguir desde su primer éxito en Europa porque ella empezó su carrera de éxitos desde Alemania con el sello Múnich Machine con Giorgio Moroder y Pete Bellote lo demás es historia maravillosa he increible como un LP Doble titulado erase una vez que era como cuento y donde ya empezó a introducir la moda de empezar a escuchar 👂 el disco y de un tirón hasta el final todas las canciones empalmadas como se decía en aquella epoca lo mismo que como quien dice también lo supersingles con canciones que llegaban a durar 23 minutos o más fue una época inolvidable para mí que tuve la suerte de poder vivir aquella época también tuvo un récord en ser la única cantante en colocar en la lista billboart 3 álbumes dobles al mismo tiempo ⏳ y año y a lo largo de su carrera vendió más de 200 millones de 💿 discos que muy pocoas lo han logrado forever Donna summer historia de la música con letras de Oro 🥇 💕💞💖❤️‍🔥❤️‍🩹❤❤💞💕
