All hail to the Queen! Look how everyone stands when she makes her entrance. That speaks for itself.

Miss Ross got a whole standing ovation just for entering the room!!!!! And THAT folks, is THE WAY ITS DONE!
WOW! Now THAT is how a STAR makes an entrance! You don't need special effects when you have that kind of star power! We rarely see anything like that nowadays! Very impressive!
Did she run on high heels ?! Wow. That alone gets my clap 👏 👏 👏
i was looking in the comments if someone notice that too 🙂
A diva for sure but wait till you see a 6’2 drag Queen do this song and backflip off a bar in 6” stripper heels all while taking dollar bills and keeping her wig straight ...

Diana Ross has the best entrances and exits, just look at her Super Bowl performance
She looks like she’s living her best life in this show x
I don't know what it is, but the way she says "youuu-ahhh" just gives me chills!! Especially with the reverb behind it. It's truly something magical happening when she sings that. I can't describe it.
😅😂🎉
It just gets you up out of your seat. Sorta like her sound Upside down
That was the same night Michael Jackson performed his first moonwalk on stage. What a great event this must have been.
So they both wore similar colored outfit & shimmering too! Looks familiar hmm
Speaking of moonwalk, how did she run down that aisle in those heels?

Omg is this the “we are a family” scene from dreamgirls? When deena walks into the audience singing. aaAAAAaaahhhHhh

Diana Ross.
The Queen of Motown.
The Queen of the world.
Diana Ross is the greatest female recording artist ever.
Seening Diana singing live was one of the most incredible moments in my life .❤
The queen of glamour...
She truly is that, glamours , and the 1980's was her decade of solidifying her ICON status.
she made it on top of her career ad singer...
@@julietlim7858 Diane Ernestine made it on top of MANY things.
She was sick this night, in the middle of a tour and thus couldn’t sing this to the max of her abilities. She didn’t let her frustration show, even after the show was turned into an indictment of her gifts. A true class act.
Anytime Diana Ross performs, anywhere, she will receive a standing ovation !
HOW PHENOMENAL WAS THIS ENTRANCE?!? And how breathtaking did she look This night?!
Diana is a rare window to a more gentler world of the past: we need to revive sentimental hearts today these days and make people’s emotions matter again: make the most of what’s still around (as another song says)
The energy in this performance is sooo alluring
I saw Diana Ross live in concert back in the late 1980's and she was just terrific! Better than anything going on today!
That is cool you got to see her live..
Witnessed by this performance- few if any lead singers could pull off what she does here.
No one makes an entrance like the first diva of all showing the students , this is how you make an entrance onto the stage look and learn! The Boss Ms.Ross!!!!!
Women were so much classier and prettier back then. My goodness...
One of the most amazing performances Ms Ross
Diana Ross is in the Guinness book of World records as the greatest female entertainer of all time..there's none after her.
Agreed !!!!
How did rolling stone not rate her higher
@@homanasiri843 they decided not to
I think it can be said this is one of the greatest entrances of all time. Diana will be remembered for having tremendous insight on her gifts and exploiting them to the max. When on stage, she is very aware of her body positioning and presence. Thank you Niles for keeping this catalogue of videos going. It is the go-to site for everything Diana Ross.
Beautifully said, Anthony. And thank you for appreciating my additions here.
There was that time she exited hanging out of a helicopter.
When she did concerts around this time she would show a video montage of all things Diana Ross before she entered. I remember it just blew me away. It was so glamorous
and much much more
I’d say her jumping through the screen entrance was the best entrance she’s ever made (and being walked back through it on her back at the close of the show her best exit). I saw that show live as well as on tape and let me tell you, the live show was everything.
I have watched this too many times but it is never grows old. Mrs. Ross really knew what she was doing and made sure her moments in the public eye were 'legendary'. Very few artists can make the most of 2:38 minutes and have the audience leaping to their feet. This is Power and Class we may not see again in our lifetimes.
If I ever have a baby girl, I'll surely call her Diana. Such an empowering name! love it
Hi beautiful, how’re you doing? 👋
I'd do the same but I don't need my child coming back home with stories like "Mummy they called me Dirty Diana at school😭"

So glamorous, so absolutely beautiful! I love that song!
I remember when Motown 25 was to be aireed on television, and I begged my Mother to please let me stay up to watch and she did.It seemed like it took forever for Miss Ross to perform except for when she did a small tip n dance with Adam Ant But when they started the montage of The Supremes my heart started to flutter.I waited for Diana to come from backstage and she didnt. When she came running down the aisle with that beaded jacket and white fur stole and that gorgeous smile from the back of the auditorium I remember screaming from the top of my lungs, and jumping up n down clapping etc OMG The memory of that day still sits in my head. There will NEVER ever be another like her.
Thanks for sharing that wonderful memory :-)

I was a bit older than you, but I watched that night with the same excitement. Loved your memory!
Miss Ross that beaded jacket and stole was everything right!!! That whole outfit fit her just perfectly lol ❤️❤️❤️

Wow, that was quite impressive! She was able to run and sing flawlessly while holding a microphone, and on top of that, and had to cover quite a distance from the door to the stage. Great job!
I remember watching this with my family and I must say this entire Motown Special program will always be memorable to me. The glamour, elegance, talent, professionalism, and the class of Diana Ross and the entire lineup was breathtaking to watch🙌🏽❤️😍
Yeah
Just like Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Barbra Streisand, and the Beatles, Diana Ross is a living legend. I like nearly every record that she did with the Supremes.
A favorite song of mine
She is Diana Ross period!!!
I was a child when this came on and I remember this as if it were yesterday. This show was magical.
Diana Ross brought JOY into our lives.
My Mother and I were visiting my sister in Chicago. We celebrated my birthday while there. My Mother bought tickets to a concert in a theatre in the round as my birthday present. I was 20. Best concert ever. Diana Ross was brilliant. I'll never forget how she made an entrance similar to this video while singing the same song. Magnificient performer.
Those back-up singers are everything!
There is No glamour like Miss Diana Ross glamor…..
It really showed how far she had come from being that 16 Year Old Teenybopper who auditioned for Hitsville in 1960 to the Superstar/Legend she is now known to be.
What a Entrance
Hello, how are you doing today
OMG Diana Ross, still beautiful until now!
she seems so happy in there! :)
Hello, how are you doing today
That's why she's still "The BOSS"
Nothing can keep me from Miss Ross!!!❤❤❤😍
Diana Ross, Tina Turner....spectacular entrances every time!🎉
I think she underrated for her singing abilities. We all know she's a charismatic performer & beautiful but she has a fantastic singing voice as well.
💯
I must say Diana Ross looks got better with time.
she was always beautiful to me and was considered a great beauty by the media from the jump
Maatization if you look at her younger pictures she's much darker and skinny. But I'm not saying she didn't look good simply because she was darker and skinny as she got older her complexion got much lighter. And you put a little more meat on her bones. Which made her beautiful but that's just my opinion.
Not sure what that means because she looks Beautiful here.
Maatization no buddy you got it wrong.... She was tall skinny and dark. In her later years for some reason her skin turn real light skin. That's why I said she looked better with time. Wish I had a jar of that bleach and clean
terry moses, perhaps the lighting got better. Diana Ross has never been dark skinned.
Miss Ross, the Boss!! Iconic and an extraordinary entertainer! No one can ever replace her! ⭐️❤️🎶❤️⭐️

I totally agree with you Chris.:-)
The entrance does it for me... 👌
She the ultimate Diva of all diva ms.Ross always the Boss.
THIS LADY IS JUST SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL
Supreme Diva of life....
One of the original true divas and I mean that with the greatest respect. There is a reason she outshone the other Supremes. It’s called star power and she wrote the book
Cynthia B quiet as kept it was Diana Ross's idea to make the Supremes glamorous and it was she (Diana) who dressed them back then and made all their first clothes when they first started out Diana Ross & her mom help sow the clothes in the very beginning , and Diana going to motown's finishing school only sharpened her already natural talents and instincts at how to present herself , and Diana would go even when the others wouldn't .Smokey Robinson has always said Diana was the best in those classes than anyone else, Marvin Gay has aways said Diana would out dress you and out rehearse you . All of this is why Diana became Diana Ross the legion , because she worked at it . She was not givin anything. Diana should be well pleased with all she has accomplished . I know I am
Brian yes, I’ve read about that...how she worked on the clothing with her own hands...you are so right. She’s worked to earn her place way up high in the history of popular music of the 20th century 👍👍
@@brianwoods9741 So am I.
she did NOT outshine the others Supremes - you are so WRONG.. Diana was GIVEN the OPPORTUNITY to sing and shine.. FLO and MARY -- they were not.. so don't say she was the best-- Flo was a strong power and she fought till she died.. there were strong downgrading vibes against her.. and it was hard.. Diana had it easy and with no conscience.----and a different voice tone -- which complimented the group -- Flo had hers as we heard in the song""" I Hear A Symphony '' and Mary as well... They were a magical trio till Greedy Gordy-- changed the format..
What a night! To be there with all those great legendary talents. Music, entertainment and television was just magic back then.
YES!
Love This Beautiful Lady
The First Lady of Motown.
Only someone who sings and loves can give a show of that category and Diana Ross is a real queen
Sólo alguien que canta y encanta puede dar un espectáculo de esa categoría y Diana es una verdadera reina
Run Queen.... I live and love THE BOSS
Although she may not think of herself as a soul singer, Diana Ross is also a very talented soul singer. She just keeps the pretty in her voice, while she's belting it out beautifully, cleanly,And soulfully.
Diana was wearing weaves before they were fashionable amongst Black women. I think every Black boy growing up in the 60's & 70's had a crush on Diana Ross. She was beautiful and a true DIVA in a good way. “Ain't No Mountain High Enough” was among the first compositions submitted to Motown by Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson, when the up-and-comers joined the company's. However, Ashford and Simpson sung this song very well although Diana made it popular and her theme song. RIP, Flo and Mary!
Was lucky enough to see her back in 1988, and she is MAGNIFICENT!
