Yeah, sadly. In the past 15 years we lost Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Etta James, Prince, and now Aretha Franklin. There are others as well. Many other of the greats that are still alive, such as Patti LaBelle, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, and Diana Ross are either retired or aren't getting the attention they used to get and still deserve to get. Unfortunately, the "artists" that are getting attention nowadays (like Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake, and Selena Gomez) aren't shit and can't hold a candle to any of the greats that I mentioned above. Whitney Houston was the perfect singer. Belts were so pure and controlled. Had the velvety soft endings after belting. Head voice runs like crazy. Inverting notes and playing with the melody. Perfect use of vibrato. Insane

Many other of the greats that are still alive, such as Patti LaBelle, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, and Diana Ross are either retired or aren't getting the attention they used to get and still deserve to get. Unfortunately, the "artists" that are getting attention nowadays (like Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake, and Selena Gomez) aren't shit and can't hold a candle to any of the greats that I mentioned above. The music industry, sadly, gets worse and worse by the day. What's played on the major radio stations now is horrible. Thank God for records and CDs.
