Without wishing to take anything away from the fantastic Dionne Warwick, this has to be one of the greatest covers of all time. A lot of people don't even know this isn't the original... it .has become the definitive version.

Just heard the news Burt Bacharach, one of greatest song writers has sadly passed away. Thank you for writing songs like this and leaving sooooo many more memories, with us. RIP in Sir x
Let’s face it, this song composed by Burt Bacharach and sung by the Queen of Soul, Miss Aretha Franklin, is a solid song filled with memories for a lot of us. Lost my wife, Carol Anne, and daughter Wende Marlene in 1985. This song helps me “say a little prayer” each day. I love you girls ❤
When my wife listened to this song she smiled and sang along. It was the last time I saw her really happy. A couple of days ago she suddenly died. We were together for 36 years. This song will always remind me of her last smile.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your entire family! God bless all of you and may God give you all strength. Thirty-six years is full of beautiful memories and I hope you relive all of them over and over again.
This was someone who could sing out the names and addresses to a telephone directory and it would still sell a millions copies, the voice of a angel soley missed.
The piano you hear on the version by Dionne Warwick is played by Burt Bacharach... He was very subtle, but emotionally moving. And Dionne, understanding his style so well, ran away with it!!
She is the best most wonderful singer, with true soul...I simply loved her and still do forever ...an Angel now in a lovely heaven with her in it!!! Thank you Aretha thank you...❤ Ena

What a love song...! That's REAL music! Her voice is incredible. And her eyes really can enchant you. One of the greatest voices ever. I really miss music like that these days.
Every morning I take my wife her cup of coffee while she is still in bed. This morning she started singing this song while I gave her, her coffee kiss. I had not heard this song in many many years. I didn’t even know the words to it, but I did remember the tune because my mom played it on her console record player. I just told my DianaBaby, I got to learn that song. As soon as I left the bedroom, I looked it up, listen to it, read the lyrics and some of the comments and it touched my whole being. So here I am now, All I could think of was of how much I love her and everything that “Little Prayer” has done to my life. My love for you is the greatest Love of All, and i will also say A “Littel Prayer” for you, Dear God, let us continue to love one another For Ever and Ever. Amen

God bless 🙌
We put this masterpiece at my mom’s funeral. It was her favorite. A big hug for you ❤
My husband was born 11/11/1968, the year this amazing piece was released. He was Diagnosed this year 2/28/24 with incurable Cancer. I can not get enough energy from listening to this song. Forever Lift Us Up, Aretha 🎵🎶🙌🏼
My heart sank reading this. This song brings my mom and dad back. But they are always there. I don’t think death is quite what we think.
God bless
Sending prayers your way!
Sending prayers!!❤😢
@@debbievasseur3921 I don't think that it is. It seems like a portal to something else, that is better. I hope that your Mom and Dad have moved on to that special place. Maybe your prayers have been answered, Aretha rocks...
I love Aretha's songs! ❤she's a legend and so will her spirit always be around us. I'm here in 2024 😊
This song has been my favorite during all my life. Well in facts I am only 68. 😅
It's a Burt Bacharach song.
This is the first time I've ever watched a music video that felt like IT was speaking directly to me. That Face, that Voice, that Music... thank you for posting.
Phenominal! Immediately puts you in a good mood! She's amazing, the orchestra is amazing, and the back-up singers are, too!
Amen
I appreciate you every single day. The smallest of details never go unnoticed. My BB there's no one else for me. Forever and ever, again and again only with you. This is my prayer 🙏❤️🙏😍😘
bless you both!!!
amen🦋✨🤍
That’s wonderful keep it up. She’s one lucky woman just as you are one lucky man. 😍

Never tire of hearing this it’s so soulful
A true classic sung so beautifully sung by the one and only Aretha Franklin!!
I love the way that Aretha let her backup singers shine. Aretha was a true queen.
And Cissy is Dionne's aunt to boot. Agree: the Sweet Inspirations showed out here.
