I agree, VR experience on the cars that you've made is awesome in BeamNG, also, while doing my recent one, I discovered (also with your help) that you can map a bunch of stuff in the description - pedals, dials, even dash lights, and most important - you don't need to account for mirrored props anymore (they've changed it in some recent update), just type the number you see in the "left handy thingy". Especially after the recent update, Beam is making the VR experience something truly special. Thanks for another great upload!
I do know about all the uses of props, but you really only see the wheel in the cockpit, so it's all I bother with. I really only make cars for myself, so never bothered with pedals I also made an addendum for the mirror thing in the comments of that video a while ago :) I'm glad you found out though, it really does help!
I definitely have the space, time and money to build cars in VR. Especially considering half of them are taller than I am, and include things like interiors.
You could do a viewer automation car reviews in VR just like back in the day. You can give them a proper walk-around and see the community's attempt at a VR quality automation car.
as someone who's actually designed a real car in VR, i thought it was obvious why you would want to VR automation. It really is a profound design experience
13:48 - I've noticed this too playing assetto corsa in vr. I think it's because its in 3d, so because you have depth perception the corners seem to come a lot slower.
It's pretty insane how much more in control you feel with a sim rig+vr than just a monitor and sim rig. It's similar to driving first person compared to third, since you can see and feel the racing lines so much easier. VR just takes that times 100 and lets you really see/"feel" the limits and optimal lines for a specific car. VR in BeamNG and AC with a sim rig setup are easily thousands of hours of content IF you're really into cars or racing. Sure there's other games capable of that many hours of enjoyment but it's so much more of an experience than basic gaming.
to fully eliminate the pop-in of meshes, look for CK Graphics Settings mod on the forums. It has a LOD bias slider, if you set that to max, it will force the game to use the highest quality mesh for all objects in the map. Has impact on framerate, so lower it if needed. (or something else, like dynamic reflection as it isn't needed with the newly updated mirror system if you drive in cockpit view)

I find VR as a bunch of small experiences, and this is one I felt was worth it
@@fillman86 men i fink that as well
i have vr its noting to me
fair, you really do have to have an affinity for it to enjoy it. Also it could be needing to find the right game. I remember doing all the normal things people say to do in VR and it was basically a gimmick, but seated sim experiences changed it entirely for me :)
i have vr but my pc is too bad for beamng vr
WMR is low impact, which is why I got it, but its support is being discontinued in 2026, and no one reaaaaaly knows what that means fully for users

Hey Fillman, how you doing my man?
I'm loving the videos, and because of them, i started wanting to mod BeamNG.
I don't know shit about modding BeamNG, and want to start with modyfing sounds like the horns and siren sounds. (I really want a horn like this ruclips.net/video/VLsdCwFxWqA/видео.htmlsi=VUBoq-mtht4Y9m90)
Do you think that it's plausible for a newbie to learn modding in BeamNG?
I've not meddled with things like those custom sounds. If you've not seen it, I have a normal jbeam tutorial that you might find interesting ruclips.net/video/_b9p9POjQOk/видео.html
