@FriedChickin yeeaah basically every older ship gets left in the bin by CIG... Hopefully they will get back to them sooner than later. (Looking at the sorry state of the Connie for example)
I was the same as you. I hated Freelancers and vowed to never get one but I like the Starlancer. I am not sure I agree that it needs a built in tractor beam for the belly because it takes me under 4 minutes to load 128scu into the belly using a Maxilift. I have yet to even bother using my ATLS because i think any time I save will be negated by the time it takes to get it out and move it into position to start loading then put it away after. Have you times how long it takes you to do that?
I was just saying that it needs a tractor beam because pretty much every other dedicated cargo ship has one the clipper, the nomad, the caterpillar, the cutlass black and I’m sure the railen will have one too
@FriedChickin the terrapin med even got flood lights for the entrance ramp. Ya first thing I'm like oh the side cargo has lights inside. They go to the ground and it's like wow that's dark

Doing ERT’s easily. With big ships like this drop your speed to increase turn speed. 4 S4 is plenty of fire power for any ERT. I can see it struggling against MRT and below because there’s typically smaller faster ships in those bounties.
@@stvi26800 I never actually tried using the refrigerators in the SL so I didn’t know. I wonder if that’s going to be a real gameplay mechanic where you have to keep things fresh and refrigerated in the future or if it’s just the show.
No clue, but can you imagine multicrewing and chilling in your rooms and you could actually store drinks in them and go socialise with the crew, would be nice
Had the Freelancer Max and now this, have to say for Misc industrial line ship it has a lot of wasted space, I would trade the unnecessary Hab area, mess hall and kitchen for cargo space + a compact kitchen area. They could have used the freelancer Max hab/bed for this and it would be just fine. The turret visibility also became a misc line flaw which I don't like. I will upgrade it to a better ship in the future
Which ship is more geared towards role-playing more than anything else it’s a jack of all trades type of shit. It’s good at a bunch of things, but a master at nothing.
@FriedChickin It's just poor design IMO They could have made RP friendly with way less waste of space. Even the corridors going around the rooms are a massive waste, they could have take use of one center corridor instead of 2 going around. There was no need for private WC/shower for each room either They could have taken use of the elevating platforms to access the upper deck for more cargo. It's quite the same scenario with Freelancer Max that has 4 beds with 4 seats and a turret which isn't remote either, marking the 3 other passengers worthless
@ nah I think it’s design is fine. You don’t want every ship to utilize every inch of its space for the purpose It’s built for? you gotta also have fun with the vessel as well. If this thing is just all cargo grids and no fun then people wouldn’t pick it up. The Polaris is a great example huge corridors with nothing inside of them just opened space but players love it because they can have fun with it.
I would say that if you go up against things like Buccaneers then you definitely need turret gunners but against bigger ships like a 600i or Reclaimer I think it will do fine.
It doesn’t matter how many times I see the precision targeting it always makes me sad, the fact that combat was slowed down so much that you can just be zoomed in while you fight is depressing as hell
I already bought a medium cargo ship (Alien - Railen) many years ago, so I'm not buying another ship until they release what I paid for. Also I'm never buying an "In-Concept" ship ever again.
I have that as well and a caterpillar, but that’s not even in the pipeline so it’s going to be years before it even comes to see the light of day and I’m still waiting for the caterpillar rework where they make all the systems, including doors properly work as intended
Ok. That's your opinion. I choose to support the game more than you and get the advantage of buying early and using the CCU method so get it cheaper. I got my Railen for 130 bucks. So while I have to wait a bit, I get a suitable loaner, I actually help the game get finished with donations and I'll get my ships cheaper. Have fun paying for Insurance later!
When you take this ship out, its description designates it as “industrial” this ship isn’t even a designated cargo hauler. I feel that this ship shines with helping salvagers, or miners, or crafters. @ I hope you realize that every single ship in the game is not affected by weight when it comes to having cargo or no cargo at all on the vessel it’s not implemented into the game yet so for right now it doesn’t matter at all.
@@FriedChickin Ya I am kinda stuck on what ship to do I was running the Corsair mostly for a ship with 4 size 5 guns (didn't care about the size 4s on the wings) and cargo. I can't sidegrade to the andromeda because you can only upgrade to more expensive ships. If the velocity on the tac version isn't better don't think it's gonna be worth it (was considering it because even though 4 size 4s it has 2 large shields to make you alot tankier than the corsair.) I wish they had just gotten rid of the wing guns OR just downed the gun sizes a bit but kept all guns pilot firable. No one wants to just sit in the co pilot seat hitting fire for 2 guns they can't aim and you lose out on controlling the turret the co pilot is meant to be using when doing so. Very poorly implemented balance change and not a fun implementation for anyone.
@@FriedChickin I am really hoping they change the balancing to be something more fun. I don't care if they nerf the guns a bit but removing 2 size 5s from pilot and having it set up in a way that makes it so you can't have them and the turrets if you are fully crewed plus making it not a fun way to play for the copilot is dumb. Downsizing the guns would have been a better way to go about it, it now has less pilot firepower than a constellation while being squishier with a worse flight model.
My main issue with this ship's design is the non-existing ground clearance and the disappearingly small landing gears that look so poorly positioned that it feels that this whale of a ship could fall on its side at the slightest wind gust.
i was going to hold off on power upgrades till after they drop the contestant zones. Cause the good stuff won't be buyable in stores anymore when it drops

Considering they confirmed the Ironclad is in production, one can hope that the Cat will get a small rework to allow for what you want, as well as introduce some of its modularity. Would make sense to do a Cat rework around same time imo.
@@Rhapses what I really hope that they turn on with the iron clad is the detachable command center. The caterpillar also has that, but there’s no guarantee that that’s going to be turned on when the iron clad becomes flyable

Firstly, I bought this ship, secondly, I don't know why, but I fell in love with its design and those strange cargo elevators on the sides, thirdly, it's its capacity, but I don't understand how this ship can compete with the Taurus, which costs less, it has a little smaller cargo compartment, but the guns are size 5, it's strange to me, I would buy a taurus, but I don't like the Coni design
i dont really think of fighting in this thing maybe the tac. this ship just got vibes is all shes not in it for the battle
@@FriedChickin I understand, but still, for the price of 50 bucks lower, you can get a more versatile ship that is good at anything, so it's strange to me
@@HummerPoint I mean, you have to take a consideration for taste some people like other manufacturers versus others just like you said you don’t like constellation design some might. I don’t like the corsair but people love it because it has good fire power to me. It’s just an ugly ship so I won’t fly it
@@FriedChickin Haha,i understand your point,btw corsair is beutiful😁
Taurus can not maintain its cargo capacity when vehicles is parked inside. That's where the Starlancer shines.
I have a Caterpillar but I'm so tempted to melt it for the this.
@@MikeMaker851 naaah don’t melt it! Once the cat is actually completed it will be a public favorite again.
@FriedChickin ... I don't believe the CAT' ever will be "completed". You will soon come to find that the IronClad is its unofficial... and then official replacement.
Loading with the ATLS looks pretty painful. The boxes look like they’re locking, but when you release they hit the underbelly of the ship. But in all, as you said, it looks to be a geeat hauler, like a Freelancer MAX on steroids. Also this review format with your personal take on the ship is awesome, please do more!
@@Pontiuspilotus-jj4wq actually it’s not painful at all. Especially in consideration that cargo crates don’t cause ship damage anymore. It snaps on and off very easily. And I will make more great content for you and my viewers!

@@AK-lo4bd 👌
I'll stay with the old reliable Cat :) but this is a neat addition to the Misc lineup!
So I have a iron cloud I hope that they don’t have bake it just like the caterpillar I used to love the caterpillar. I can’t wait for the detachable cock pit, and when the actual loading bay doors reach the ground when that happens, I will be flying in regularly again. I just have to be patient and I will.
@FriedChickin yeeaah basically every older ship gets left in the bin by CIG... Hopefully they will get back to them sooner than later. (Looking at the sorry state of the Connie for example)
@ I feel bad for Carrok users that big bird is desperate for a rework
I was the same as you. I hated Freelancers and vowed to never get one but I like the Starlancer.
I am not sure I agree that it needs a built in tractor beam for the belly because it takes me under 4 minutes to load 128scu into the belly using a Maxilift. I have yet to even bother using my ATLS because i think any time I save will be negated by the time it takes to get it out and move it into position to start loading then put it away after. Have you times how long it takes you to do that?
I was just saying that it needs a tractor beam because pretty much every other dedicated cargo ship has one the clipper, the nomad, the caterpillar, the cutlass black and I’m sure the railen will have one too
Those side ramps, need lights bad
I agree 100% all of these ships needs floodlights, including this desperately
@FriedChickin the terrapin med even got flood lights for the entrance ramp. Ya first thing I'm like oh the side cargo has lights inside. They go to the ground and it's like wow that's dark
@ they have been adjusting the lighting with every patch in the PTU so who knows they might add flood lights before it’s official release they tweaking it maybe make a post on the issue console about it
@@FriedChickin I was shocked when I walked into a bedroom to show my son and the mirror worked in the ship hahaha
@ lol to bad it’s not an actual mirror. It’s a monitor. Has a camera. I’ve noticed this is going to become the standard across multiple ships. I seen it being updated in a bunch already
Only i've ever had with misc ships have been the pilot view, the control button layout, mfd layout just over all the entire pilot experience of the misc ships have been GROSS to me so sad to see that hasn't changed but over all it does look like it's awesome I'll prob make it my new main medium boi
They did update the MFD for the star Lancer and I do enjoy it, but I can understand where you’re coming from. Sometimes change is not the best way but we just have to go with it because we can’t tell CIG anything.
Lmao I said this thing would of pushed zues out of the way only because it has more space
@@emperor_pewpew2903 I just wish it flew faster. But man she slow af
@FriedChickin I think the slow movement is what makes it balanced because the zues and Taurus are in the same category with it.. can't have those ships completely less than starlancer in everything 😂
@@emperor_pewpew2903 i was talking more about its base scm speeds its like only 100 my cats scms is almost double that idk if it was like 150-200 id be happy
@FriedChickin yesi know that's what am saying it's good that it's slow because it beats zues and Taurus in everything else
It’s a modernized firefly
I did the first 2 save station missions by myself with the starlancer twice and killed around 20 ships quickly. Maybe I'm used to big ships flying the Connie's alot. It was easy and made me happy about this ships combat. Try same missions with Connie and let us know.
@@videonaj I usually fly a 600i. And it does easy work. Some other commenters said the stock guns are trash and to upgrade to rhinos. So I’ll do that
Doing ERT’s easily. With big ships like this drop your speed to increase turn speed. 4 S4 is plenty of fire power for any ERT. I can see it struggling against MRT and below because there’s typically smaller faster ships in those bounties.
But did they fix the fridges in the rooms?
They were broken. I didn’t even know?
@FriedChickin so basically I couldn't not place anything in them and I could not find a button for them
@@stvi26800 I never actually tried using the refrigerators in the SL so I didn’t know.
@FriedChickin It's just poor design IMO
They could have made RP friendly with way less waste of space.
Even the corridors going around the rooms are a massive waste, they could have take use of one center corridor instead of 2 going around.
There was no need for private WC/shower for each room either
They could have taken use of the elevating platforms to access the upper deck for more cargo.
@@doodlePimp yeah. I just don’t come across those to often. I usually do the higher level bunkers with my eclipse

@@FriedChickin I upped the Taurus, can't wait for it to hit Live. I liked the Taurus, so it was a hard decision 😔
jaabaa ~ in-game
Right they need to fix the landing gear bug other than that solid bird!
@@charliemcawesome5012 I'm a Concierge backer, I've put well over $1,000 into the game. Dont tell me im not supporting the game.
When you take this ship out, its description designates it as “industrial” this ship isn’t even a designated cargo hauler. I feel that this ship shines with helping salvagers, or miners, or crafters. Yes of course it’s a cargo vessel but offers more than just cargo space. Have to think outside the norm with this one in order to like it.
Usually, when I go off of shit descriptions, I go off of what the ASO terminal say but now I get it it’s gonna be a fun role-play ship
Theres a timer on the items...? What does that even mean..
What items, what timer?
@@italydude515 so if you place a bunch of itemsin one area. star citizen has a function that will automatically remove items and clutter from a space. This is actually an old update that they implemented back during 3.20. Due to people dropping medical gowns everywhere

after the nerf from 8500 quantum fuel to 3000 many people allready melt it including me, i understand 8500 is a it more but to cut up to 75% i think is very unfair, the best is to buff again 6000-7000 quantum fuel thats is very for ship carco deep space ship. 3000 now is completely joke of the year
Yea this isn't a balance pass it's a gut like who balances like this?

Thing is if the base model is bad at combat the tac ain't gonna be much better other than the added turrets. Both going to be slow unless they decide to fix that issue. Comon its slower than a capital ships!
@@Tribsu well the max isn’t made for combat. I just got like 80 comments asking me to take into battle so I made a little blurp about it. It’s guns is used to help defend it while someone answers a distress beacon
@@FriedChickin It does not answer the mobility issue at all. The cargo variant running empty should be pretty nimble and then engines powerful engufh to make it go. MSR ain't meant for combat either and yet here we are it can actually fly!
@ I hope you realize that every single ship in the game is not affected by weight when it comes to having cargo or no cargo at all on the vessel it’s not implemented into the game yet so for right now it doesn’t matter at all.
Kinda hope the combat version has better scm.
yeah idk how this thing is so slow with such huge motors!
If the velocity on the tac version isn't better don't think it's gonna be worth it (was considering it because even though 4 size 4s it has 2 large shields to make you alot tankier than the corsair.)
I wish they had just gotten rid of the wing guns OR just downed the gun sizes a bit but kept all guns pilot firable. No one wants to just sit in the co pilot seat hitting fire for 2 guns they can't aim and you lose out on controlling the turret the co pilot is meant to be using when doing so. Very poorly implemented balance change and not a fun implementation for anyone.
@ maybe they will bring them back with more backlash from the backers?
@@LordCritish look at this ship like a c17 lockhead. They are both similar in nature when it comes to to landing gear.
