It should have a second shield slot, if players want to use it for combat they should be able to invest in it and buy a second shield (that way it won't need to effect the paid for pack)
I dont think its ugly, it has Character and as the legendary VoiDude said: "It doesnt matter what ship you use, as long as you give it a name."
So people, give your ship a name, respect it and treat it well.
Good editing, 10/10 will watch the next one. 🙂
@@WASD_Illusion I think it’s hideous on the exterior but I do love the inside, but I’m about to go on a firearm binge currently working on a bunch of gun videos so stay tuned!
The inside is fucking amazing but the outside is so incredibly ugly.. the useless asymmetry, the flatness of the ship, it just looks like it was put under an hydraulic press and taken out halfway through
@DerKilianist I feel like they will make a racing version in the future, especially with how fast it flies
It's an amazing disposable shuttle. Fast, full interior, decent cargo, flys well.
I got this as an LTI and I really like it, great for scoping out places with ships to salvage and fits nicely in the Polaris.
Hopefully they will balance it more for better survivability. I personally luv this ship for looks externally and internally and it's speed.
My favourite smaller ship, it’s a proper mini camper van ❤
@@Raums mine would be the cutters
I have almost every Cap ship the game has and in between and I love this ship, and that includes the exterior not just the spectacular interior...I've seen it killing Glaives and escorts, but of course you have to be extremely careful...anyway to each his own!
@@FAAMS1 it destroys alien ships! It’s what I was fighting in this video alien swarm. And I love the interior. But only 2 missiles ???
@@FriedChickin Obviously the ship should have a second shield but that would make it a bit OP given all other things it has...IMO the ship is unique and a perfect starter home in the stars for someone on a budget...good living quarters, good speed, good manoeuvrability, good range, it can go places! If I had nothing and this was my first ship I would be a very happy noob! Also, the ship forces you to really learn how to dodge and pilot or u r toast!
@ your are 100% correct! I let the amount of time I spent playing the game cloud my vision!!
@FAAMS1 2nd shield or another line of quad size 1 for example to saturate a target, or even a version of cnou mustang delta dumb rocket associated to weapon and not to missiles to push target lose flight control could spice up the intrepid
If youre doing box missions, theres 3 box shelves near the armory.
They’re janky and the middle one the box clips through, such bad design 😂
I upgraded my mustang to the intrepid because it just looked nice and i like that cargo area. Plus...lti. can't beat having 3 entry points on it either.
@@azntactical4884 yeah on one of My Zeus videos I talked about how more ships need to have more than one entry point there’s so many vessels that only has one way in and one way out. It causes really bad bottlenecking if you ever get boarded.
The ship's quadrant shield is changed to a bubble shield on the PTU which should help its durability a bit. Also, the hull has a lot more components than other ships, so the 15k HP is spread out a lot more making individual parts fall off pretty quick. Hopefully it gets tweaked a bit to make it feel a bit more durable.
@@kiwi3776 I feel it. It can be a great ship for the regular player! But it does need some tweaks.
The damage to the ship was from your own bullets hitting the hitbox of the ship from inside. The npc bullets did not penetrate your shields.
@@marrdukefrost2300 ballistics penetrate shields doesn’t matter if it’s fps or ship guns. lasers has a harder time. Plus I only shot my own ship what 3-4 rounds? While 7 guys where out their blasting me.
This ship would make a good smugling ship. The widow mobile. Speed and dont get hit and be a space drug dealer lol.
I liked the ship, the shield is weak, but for me that one gun should have been a size 5. If it was, I would purchase one.
Or at least add a small nose turret with s1s
Agreed, yet probably just too stressful to be on par to aurora to more or less nomad and on between
I did my first cargo run yesterday with this ship. You can fit 11 sc Of cargo 4 in each cargo Bay and then another 3 in the hallway.
once the shield is a bubble, not a quadrant it will outperform its peers.... in the things *starter* ships should, in the categories it is aimed at.
So no, it is not a combat aimed ship, no more than the Cutter is. Same kind of shield, hp and dps. And yes it is more expensive than it for the same kind of use, "low end ships with full living facilities". Off-grid capable ships. But it is also quite a luxury version of that as well.
A Lexus costs more for being well appointed, even though it isn't really much more than a sedan otherwise. This is in that category.
So is meant for people seeking the next meta, where combat is their big ship goal? Of course not. If you have actual higher end ships, *wtf are you doing talking about combat in a starter?*
It is a daily driver *for new players* not for long timers. get back in your far better ships, and be far happier.
A gree with everything...
But I still LOVE my intrepid, no matter what.
Can't explain why, I just love it!😅
@@HārokkuKyaputen you dint have to explain it. But if your having fun then that’s all that needs to be said
I just got it. New player. It was on sale with lti
⚠DO NOT WALK AROUND DURING QT, OR YOU MAY BE LEFT BEHIND.
@@JI_JOE 🤣 add the intrepid to the list 🤣 another ship does this too??? Sheeesh
happened to me last night haha
FPS ship combat is only 1 of many many game loops. Id say it shines as a starter for package running, bunkers, hauling, investigation, search...basically every other loop besides pvp/e combat and has the best living quarters of any starter.
I picked one of these up with store credit after playing with it for several hours in the PTU, and when the 4.0 wipe comes it's going to be the day 1 ship i am going to fly until i've made enough to purchase a Hull A in game. It's definitely got issues; it could use a second shield generator, but i suspect that will come with the eventual combat variant along with a pair of S3 hardpoints (i'm thinking a low profile turret similar to what's atop the Anvil Arrow) and a bespoke missile system that will replace 4 of the 8 scu of storage. If they increased the ground clearance by like half a meter you could more easily get that Pulse on to one of those cargo grids, maybe they'll do that with the pathfinder variant. The base Intrepid is NOT great at combat, (though i did replace the laser repeater with a ballistic gatling, and have fun with VLRT bounties,) but it's not meant to be. People keep comparing it to the Titan, and from a combat perspective it absolutely falls short there, but from an in-universe perspective, Crusader wouldn't be aiming for the pilot that is looking for a decades old military surplus ship, they're going after the guy who has been looking at the 300i, but has no real need for wood paneling or champagne flutes, and doesn't want to deal with the exacting maintenance requirements. (If you've owned a BMW or an Audi you know what i mean.) That's the ship we should be comparing it to. From a combat perspective it still falls short there, but it's the superior choice in almost every other way, and if they undercut the 300i's price by a few hundred thousand credits in game, well, if we were dealing with real companies, Origin would be sweating a little right about now. It's definitely not for everyone, but it IS a great little starter, and while the cash price IS a bit much when compared to the Titan or the 300i, if those ships had been released today, with the level of compexity and polish of current offerings, they would definitely be at or above the Intrepid's price point, the payroll hours involved in development all but necessitate it, and i have no doubt that's why it's taking so long for these older ships to be brought up to "Gold Standard" specifications, there is no money in it for CIG to improve ships we already own.
I bought it because I fell in love with it. Now the rose-tinted glasses are almost off. Fingers crossed once the big rework comes, this one gets some love or maybe engineering will do its wonders.
ill have to revisit this bird once the rework hits, just right now it keeps getting 1 shotted by missiles
Good job on a great ship cig
Remember guys, its shields are quad shield faces, not a bubble. This is a quick hit-and-run ship. If you're outnumbered run. 1v1 you have a chance by keeping away from the front of the ship. 2v2 you're pushing it. One hit and an engine problem can be disastrous for those who continue to stick around. I have survived situations like this but barely. 2 v 3 you are sure to get hit, and you are sure to get missiles locked and killed even if you stick around and can't peel off one ship at a time. Running and trying to peel off also causes missions to fail for Vaugn which is stupid being I'd like to try tactics. But being a distance away and dragging ships to you is a mission failure too. So be crafty and know your limits. This ship is fun but can become your coffin 😅
Got it for the LTI.. and SC DD(perhaps my future my custom(appearance) npc).
Hope they improve it for those that bought as a starter ship.. seems like you can shoot it down with a pistol. ;P
They did offer the standalone CSV-SM LTI 's 2nd or 3rd last day.. of IAE but hidden in the standalone section but i think the Argo ATLS would much more useful for more 'grind' work job in the future if not interested in the LTI.
I have a feeling there some balancing coming to missions too. I would love to know what the plan is for how long they intend player to stay in the starter ship level. They seem to be actively looking at progression in meaningful ways.
Right because after you get that big ship that clicks with you it’s hard to leave!
1st flight stuck on pad
Claimed
2nd flight, killed by missiles no countermeasure on board would launch
3rd flight, switch weapon for a c788, anywhere I went or was resulted in armistice zone... even in space in middle of nowhere.
I dont use it much but so quiet unlucky!
I really like the ship but as a Cutter owner it feels about 10 dollars over costed tbh. That being said I'll probley still pick one up in game, it's fun to fly.
Why does it have 1k qt fuel and the cutter only 500k
The rebalancing of armaments and overall costs will shift the perspective and focus of many, to re-evaluate
The Oblivion skin does wonders for its exterior
@@UNBE4R4BLE I bought the skins for the ship 🤣 but yeah I saw some of the price changes for some ships… those guys who want to solo big ships is becoming harder to uphold
The intrepid will offer a utilatarian multi role step into the storyline mission based verse, without the cost burden of expensive armaments
I think CIG nailed it with the Intrepid starter and its role in their vision of the Verse
The weak shields are a bug. in 3.23.4 the Intrepid has quadrant shields which means they're effectively 1/4 as strong as other size 1 shields. In the 4.0 PTU the ship has bubble shields like all other ships with size 1 shields.
I personally like the ship design.
@@dailybugle2147 I like the interior.
Firepower: vastly better if you change the gun for an Atrittion-4 repeater.
Its bad that they nerfed the Cutter and Syulen quantum fuel to the ground so they can promote the intrepid having more range.
The cargo elevators are BAD, extremely bad and cumbersome to put in and take out boxes, as bad as the aurora's cargo rack.
Its very large for a starter. almost the size of the NOMAD, crazy.
For me the BEST for the price, starter is the Aurora, 30$ you can do all the ground missions, handmining, basic combat, with 4 attrittion-1 repeaters you have decent firepower, have a bed to logout in a hurry, 3 SCU of cargo space, and you can get enough money to get a new ingame ship in no time.
What are the specifications of your PC? If you don’t mind me asking, some of those clips were silky smooth - also appreciate
@@gymvulner1993 my build is in the description
@@FriedChickin oh thanks - apologies didn’t check.
How relevant do you reckon the lifetime insurance could be, regarding the current offer? Thats something special right?
@ihnooderso5356 I don’t think it’s special anymore ever since the way CIG brought up the changes to insurance during citizen con it almost makes lifetime insurance null and void
Bro, I hear you I HEAAARRR you... But... Not every ship (even starter) needs to be able to be "good" at combat! No body here complaining about the 100 series! lol.
Of all starter ships, it DOES have best range. May not mean much in Stanton but wait for Pyro. You're gonna be wanting that range more than ever because not every fuel stop will be friendly to you like Stanton.
Also, those 3 shelf spots in the hab area are snap in grids for handheld boxes.
I know! What really gets me is the two missiles it comes with 🤣 But ima be in my 600i/SL/prowler in pyro! I really can’t wait
@ now that I didn’t know I thought they where to small for the boxes. But having more ships with the ability to use the personal cubes would be awesome.
this ship actually already in GOld standard/ its good tho
god don't scare me like that. I just did a chain from the ATLS . you made my heart jump.😅
@@Le_Sigh I’m sorry

Sadly the intrepid , seems like on of the most fragile starter ships , at least it moves fast , and for starting is not that that bad
Great vid
@@Gaporu007 ima stick with my Drake scout/rambler.
Is it possible to fit a Pulse through the front door?
@@KaybeCA the front door? I don’t know. I’ve fit a pulse in the rear cargo hold easily
Yes ! You can ... + if you want, more cargo too, W/out the pulse.
Since there is No animation to get in the Intrepid, it is fast and easy to store delivery packages on the shelves next to the gun racks.
@@jedi_drifter2988 There was a guy who managed to fit 19 SCU in the Intrepid...don't ask me how.
Jeeezuuus!
@@FAAMS1 Front door ...
I respect and appreciate your honest assessment of the Intrepid.
I can't get past it's bad looks either.. Although the dark concierge paint helps a bit and I can't help but like the color scheme of the "Altaïr" paint.
Credit where it's due, I do like that it has "big ship" features in a starter ship platform. I upgraded one of my LTI tokens to try it out for a little longer than the 2-day rental period and really give it a chance. For the same reasons you provided I feel it's so overall impractical that it can't be considered anything other than a big miss.. As I'm sure it was meant to contend with the Cutter and above in the range of starter ships.
It will still be a LTI CCU host for something else I build up to in the future.
(Until you actually need a shoilet in game.. The Avenger Titan is still the GOAT.)
Facts! Yeah the titan was the second ship I ever got way back in the day and I still rock it here and there.
The Titan isn't listed as a starter ship. Aurora is a starter ship, Mustang is a starter ship and a cutter a starter ship. Let alone the intrepid can also fly to Pyro and the Titan can't.
@@aso6437 idk what your talking about I jumped with the titan yesterday in the eptu worked just fine. And back in 2019 it was considered a starter
Yep, apples to apples oranges to oranges...personally I hate the Penguin (Titan)!
@@FriedChickinI think it’s considered Starter +, like the Nomad and the weird Alien Pyramid
You can also add cutlass black always for sell and my guess can be purchased with package, a higher end starter dailies but a starter nonetheless, especially since 24.3
Same goes nomad with more scu.
Titan is legit a starter ship lmao what are you on
you keep saying that word missions
I don't think you know what it means
@@TecraTube looks like my plan worked 🤣 it’s supposed to be a joke. The actual terminology in game is contracts. I do it to trigger folks. Kinda like how I say motors vs engines.
tbh i prefer the Polaris
@@bigbuna 🤣 that big big bird to this little bird. It’s like the sparrow vs the eagle
this is why everyone still picks the titan.
100% a better ship
