They aren't shelling this at all the reason the development stops after next dlc is because the red engine isn't good enough(same reason why every Bethesda game is a broken mess using an outdated engine) so they are dropping support from all there projects to focus on going Unreal engine
@@roshaanreddy8107 wholly disagree. I really think the pacing was meant to be quick paced and highly active and goes in tandem with the harsh reality of Night City.
laughed way too hard when they said police appears out of nowhere because this was a major bug in the game haha Also when a bunch of cars went flying around
Bug? Really again the mis-use of the word bugs and glitches in 2022? Aight the police thing is not a bug, infact way worse. It's on purpose because CDPR knows a few things in integrating a cop system those are jack and shit. Only time we saw it was the guards in Witcher 3 and that's practically the same for Cyberpunk 2077. Best they did for "cops" or prevention of numb slaughter was to immediately kill you with overwhelming and op cops that spawn when out of your sight. Which way more dissapointing that it's on purpose than it being a bug. They don't know how to integrate a flying vehicle to swoop in n' shit or even A DRIVE BY CAR THEY CAR AI IS FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Of course its way better than the game. The game was made by inexperienced amateurs. CDPR will even go bankrupt soon because almost everyone refunded Cyberpunk. Thats why its so trash. The Anime was made by experienced talented people.
Something which blew me away was that the music in the anime is from the game. The song "who's ready for tomorrow" which plays while David is walking to to school fits him so well it's uncanny.
There is so much to love about this show. The writing, the music, the crisp animation. Only bad thing imo is that there werent more episodes, and the timeskip felt a little rushed too imo
While I agree that they could have added a bit more to it and that the time skip was a bit jarring, I also MUCH prefer this to the other side of the coin. That other side being an anime which is far too long for the substantial content, which dilutes the entire experience into something mind-numbingly mundane. I will skip out on some details if it means my experience is more concise and interesting overall.
I originally felt like the time skip was too sudden, but in retrospect I feel like it's better that way because it makes David's chrome transformation really jarring to the audience which fits with the whole idea of cyberpsychosis being kinda like body dysmorphia/disassociation
It never felt rushed to me. It's almost like an anthropology. With that in mind, the fact we can instantly pick up on the fact that David didn't learn Maine's lesson, and is also more numb to the death around him means that there's no reason to see what happens in the mean time, you get it if you pick up on it.
i think one of the many strong points in this show is the dynamic between characters they make the group feel like a family in such a unforgiving world there is a faint feeling of hope for the characters and david and lucy’s dynamic is absolutely beautiful I love how they ended it with those two in the last episode such an epic story
when a show leaves you feeling empty, sad because you had to say goodbye to the characters, hurt because of what you saw, and you can't stop rewatching it because you can't accept that it's over and you want more, and yet, you have nothing but praise for the wild ride you were in, then you know you saw something truly special. Great job guys, I'm gonna miss this characters...

@@ScamboliReviews binged it after watching half of the video. I thought the driving mechanics looked funny and almost wondered if it was a reference to the release. When you said it at the end I lost my shit.
Absolutely. I’m surprised I haven’t heard the comparison to ultra violent ovas from the 80s more. The Netflix release allowed them to do stuff they wouldn’t be able to do in a tv anime.
Don't think we necessarily need to compare, they compliment each other. The disaster of a launch aside, having played at launch and couldn't get past the tutorial aside, I went back to the game and found myself invested in the story. The anime really, reaaally sets the scene for the game, and this "I want to be a legend" thing becomes more and more understandable. It's hard to go into the game dry and connect with the characters on any level, but after the show I can really understand what everyone is saying and where they are coming from. The timer put on V's life is pressuring throughout the whole playthrough and I just know that it won't end well, just like David and anyone else in night city. But none of that changes anything for the characters, because death was always close anyway, and through the pursuit of a chance at life you, playing as the character, really find true relationships in the game and the anime, even if the adventures for everyone are so, so short.
same all the way. i picked the game up after watching the anime and now i'm obsessed with it and the universe. i hope more people are able to give it a shot despite its original launch
I played the game about a week after launch. Honestly binged 70~ hours of it in a few days, but I absolutely LOVED the story, world, and characters of the game. So when the show came out it was such a treat. I'd already gotten invested into the world of cyberpunk and been emotionally impacted by the themes of the game. And so for the anime to do SUCH a good job at portraying those core ideas that I'd fallen in love with, well.. it really made it something special to me. d:
@@AutisticScholar I was wondering this while watching the video, currently on my 4th playthrough and I have zero regrets purchasing the game lol, its in a great state and the story is perfection
@@ScamboliReviews yup and the fact that almost nobody actually finished the game or gave it a chance till the bugs were fixed makes it even better because it's like there's this whole world out there that people completely forgot about and now they can't get enough of it after seeing the anime. They essentially got a get out of jail free card and a second chance to hype and relaunch the game the way it was supposed to be. Seriously this shit outa be tought in marketing schools.
This anime along with arcane were one of the biggest surprise shows to come out in the past year. I notice that what makes them so special is the amazingly unique, well crafted world that the games have already previously laid out for the shows to build upon. The formula of being an outlaw/underdog in such an unfair world seems to be very appealing to viewers. Also since the games have already cumulated fans you just know they’re gonna hype the fuck out of it and I’m glad they did. Seriously one of the most entertaining shows to ever come this year. I hope to see more anime studios adapting games and building upon the lore for their respective niche fan bases to watch.
I just feel that when the setting’s already been crafted and polished, all the studio has left is to create a sick cast of characters and story that fits it. Studio trigger definitely did not disappoint. Also Rebecca best girl
CD Projekt Red werent involved in world building, they, just like they did with the wither, took an existing universe and crafted a game around it - non the less youre right i really like this underdog archetype
@@smallweinersteve8808 yeah I know but I meant that it took off a load for studio Trigger to try to create an original setting, they just used Night City which is a fictional city CD Projekt Red developed. Then from there Trigger themselves created a new plot and characters for an anime. I was saying that they having Cyber Punk the game as a reference really let them focus more on characters, plot and animation in which they excelled at
So glad they redeemed themselves by not only fixing the game almost entirely, but adding a huge new expansion to it along with an entire rework to the game's combat mechanics. This really shows how much passion they had for Cyberpunk. In its release it was like a very very (very) unpolished diamond. It was buggy to all hell, but the graphics were fucking amazing, and when the game did function as it was supposed to, it was amazing. The story element, the setting, all of it was Triple-A by the definition. With 1.6 almost completely fixing the game, and now 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, this gives us very high hopes for the future of Cyberpunk. Let's just hope this time they take 9 years instead of 8 to make another one lmao.
Yeah I bought it and it plays great now the only bugs I’ve had are minor and don’t make the game unplayable. I did get one funny one recently though that made my car launch itself forward
Okay glad to see someone say it! I have it on PS4 and it plays like an absolute fucking dream my only complaint is that when you die it takes a bit to load. But hey other than that I love it and if you spend the whole game driving everywhere (let’s be honest unless your destination is literally on the complete otherside) is completely viable and no loading times during the drive. It feels like real good immersion- you know how many times I didn’t wanna hop out the whip cause a good song was going? I genuinely love the game now.
I saw Gigguk post a video about it. And well... Dude has never been this fast in his life. Watched it immediately before watching the video. Hot damn the ending though...

This show left me with such a post-good-show depression, the only bad thing about it is that there will not be more of it and we won't get to see more of the characters
Alright boyos, he's a hot take: The best parts of Cyberbug were never broken to begin with and it's part of what makes the show so good. The actual gameplay is real been-there-done-that as is to be expected from CDPR, let's be honest. Now that it's in a much better spot, it's a real fun ARPG with nice variety in builds. When I would recommend that game to people as a must play, it was never the gameplay that I would use to make the argument, it was everything else. The characters, the visuals, the world building, the story; All of it was some absolute kino shit which makes it that much more frustrating that it launched the way it did, it largely denying millions from experiencing it the same way someone on PC would've that was lucky enough to have a run go largely bug free. Everything I loved about the game is what I ended up loving about the show with great characters and fantastic world building so it's disappointing that the game is still often associated with being an unplayable mess because even when it's 100% fixed, I think it'll have a hard time cleaning off that stain so people can actually enjoy the incredible experience underneath.
even tho i got the shittest experience with 2077, every 2 seconds had to wait for everything to load, some cutscenes would break, ai would break, many, manyyyyy crashes i absolutely love the story i think its pretty damn good, the characters are great with a fair bit of character development for a game lets be honest but i find the show an absolute snooze
As it stands, Cyberpunk is one of my favourite RPGs I've played. It's such a shame the game released in the state it did because IMO it excels in so many different areas, Night City is one of my favourite settings I've had the pleasure of experiencing and the cybernetic mechanics allow for interesting builds and gameplay options. The bones and shell of a masterpiece exist within Cyberpunk 2077 however it is just such a shame it lacks the polish to really show it.
Of course its way better than the game. The game was made by inexperienced amateurs. Thats why its so trash. The Anime was made by experienced talented people.
"David isn't a man, but night city has no use for boys." Dude. I think that's one of, if not the, best one liners on this channel because it carries the essence of this review so well.
Was waiting for this review. What makes me kinda sad is how much credit people give to CDPR for Edgerunners story, without looking at the people behind the anime and their artistic signatures all across the story. The anime is like 80% Studio Trigger. CDPR just gave them the overall plot and the setting.
Still, it revived their kinda "Dead, shit, buggy, piece of shit game" into somewhat alive and "playable" state, so that's why people was praising CDPR, and i know it's studio trigger carying them, but it's still their Brand IP.
@@tazukisky I got a 100+ hours on the game and have encountered practically 0 bugs or crashes. The game's been amazing for a while now but people love to cling on to the past and assume its the same as on release

@@ScamboliReviews it really wasnt that buggy on pc. the most you had were immersove bugs lika above and the save bug that didnt even matter cause the game saved every 30 seconds. the only real people who had major issues were console players on old gen tech, which that tech was already struggling with a number of AAA titles. cyberpunk is just way too demanding for those consols

You're honestly the only RUclipsr that I actually get excited and really happy when you release a new video. Brings back the excitement from my teenage years for real.
Also thought that the character's motives played a big part of the narrative. And its quite depressing seeing night city and the setting in general stopping those dreams from becoming reality, or just making them not worth all the effort in the end
Except he had no dream. Which is the point. He only did well in school because it was what his mom wanted from him. He only tried being an edge runner cause he wanted to get close to Lucy and help her achieve her dream. And he only got into body modification and on his path to his own demise because of Maine. Not once did he have any real agency-that’s the tragedy.
Tbf cyberpunk is a setting that has been around the time 40k and world of Darkness (Vampire: Masquarade) angst and grimdark was the rule of most rpg setting during the time. Also the cyberpunk setting wasnt entirely cdpr red but made in the 90s as a ttrpg i.e why a european game company has a game set in the US because the original setting was made by a american and later adapted by as a anime by a japanese studio.
I found out recently that Rebecca originally wasn't supposed to be in the anime, because CDPR said she didn't "fit" the cyberpunk world that they crafted - primarily because she was a loli character. But Studio Trigger simply said "No, she stays!" and everyone is thankful to them for introducing us to this tiny, bat-shit crazy solo queen.
Yep. The writers initially didn’t like the idea, but Trigger showed them her character sheet and some scenes with her, and it convinced the writers that she HAS to stay. Even one of the writers in an interview said she ended up being her favorite character despite her initially being against her inclusion. Good on them for letting Becca stay. She’s easily everyone’s favorite character besides David and Lucy.
@@flamestoyershadowkill it's a reasonable reasoning, considering the general consensus on what alali is, and how it has fluctuated in its meaning throughout the years. Changing from a form of Lolita fashion, to just being a term for anime girls or even to being infamous as pedo bate for Haram loving weebs, they had the right to be concerned. But nevertheless her character still fit perfectly within the current story.

honestly might be my anime of the year, everything about this anime was really solid. I wished it could have had even 12-13 episodes just to flesh out the characters even more.
Yeah i would had appreciate seeing a bit more on Dorio, Maine and Kiwi, Kiwi defiantly reminds me of Cypher from the Matrix who just wanted to not spend her life looking over her shoulder and just wanted to be in a safe haven. who could really blame her Night City seems like hell if your not a Corpo or Platinum citizen.
Downloaded cyber punk after I stopped crying, it’s amazing. They patched most of the bugs and wow the story has me hooked, the side quests in this game are so deep and fleshed out they could make their own small indie games
I think both are good story wise and music. It's just that the game had a rough launch with it's open world mechanics. But, the story actually interested me to play more. I mean, who wouldn't want to see a recreation of Johnny Silverhand bombing Arasaka tower with thermonuclear warheads?
Disappointed that you didn’t address the actual story in the cyberpunk game. I suppose you can say buggy gameplay takes away from the ability to focus and enjoy the story but my personal experience after beating it twice was that post and pre patch the bugs didn’t make the story any less beautiful. Cyberpunk always was great at storytelling just like Edgerunners, its just people are finally willing to remove the preconceived bias and pay attention to the stories since its the same universe as the anime they enjoy.
This is so absolutely true. It sucks that a lot of people won't get to appreciate the artistic value behind the game just because the technical aspect was botched and gave them a bad first impression.
I like how Scamboli use the most unrecognizable screencap for the thumbnail just so he can bait people thinking that this is some kind of an obscure anime they never seen before
Glad you made a vid on this. This shit was tragically beautiful. Studio trigger gave us yet another Kamina, which meant another heartbreak. And my heart did indeed break after watching this. Easily in my top 5
If you ever decided to make any video game review/breakdowns I'd be all for it, that little history bit about CDPR and the release of cyberpunk got me hooked. Your content and editing style has always been engaging with the anime reviews, but damn you did grab my attention about cyberpunks launch past.
@Scamboli Reviews I think you could make anything successful honestly. You've got a really loyal fan base of people that would probably watch anything you put out just for your entertaining personality.
What I’m hoping for is more people getting into the rpg, it’s really fun and the world crafted for this franchise is amazing. I hope more people will give the cyberpunk world a second chance thanks to this anime
well actually a shitton of people are playing cyberpunk lately because of the anime. i'm talking about hundreds of thousands, which i'm happy to see. hopefully they don't stop at the first dlc.
It did. The game is selling better and on Steam more than a million people daily been playing it as of lately. So the anime actually reignited the attention for the game
9/10 imo, it needed like 2 or 3 more EPs, cause I would have loved to see more of David with the crew pre-EP6. Like, it would have given that episode even MORE impact (and maybe one more EP post-timeskip to showcase more of it) But thats about it when it comes to the flaws, and when your main flaw is that there isnt "more" of the show, thats a pretty good flaw to have tbh lol
@@yaboijebus1418 i agree that they could have made more eps. i would have loved to see more development between David and Lucy. but at the same time i feel like they did it on purpose. they stuffed the episodes to the brim with content. more and it would probably be to much for most people to handle. less and it would have slowed the phasing of the series. how do you make something perfect? some people enjoy the faster phasing, some dont. for me Cyberpunk Edgerunners is a 10/10. for some 6/10. who cares? if you loved it, you loved it!
It's okay, MC lacked any personality or motivation. No, "I HAVE TO protect my friends!!!!!" can't be the only motivation for every single shounen protagonist.
Idk, the game at it's current state can really give much more of that feel that Edgerunners did. Feeling of hopelessness and inevitability. Night City crushes everyones dreams under its corporate foot regardless of how special you are. 2077 is just another side of the coin that Edgerunners showed. It can also give a sence of closure/revenge if you finish the game. Although it doesn't really matter because regardless of what you choose, your choices are insignificant, in the long run it's corporate that will decide.
I mentioned this in another comment, but I think if you can actually enjoy the game, you can get MUCH more value out of it. There's tons of sidequests, lore, and worldbuilding for you to have fun in. However, I find the game extremely difficult to love. In my opinion, the gameplay sucks, I can't like the characters, and the dialog is cheesy. For people like me who were put off by the game, it's so fucking convenient and cool to experience the Cyberpunk world in a nice, 5 hour package. No gameplay, no $25 investment, you can just sit down and enjoy the show.
@@ScamboliReviews Yes, and I'm really happy that people get to experience this world in such a great light, through a media that doesn't necessarily demand commitment, or investment. I found it infuriating, I guess, that such great world and setting was buried underneath all the mess that the game created. And that all that great writing (although I guess it isn't everyone's cup of tea) was completely overshadowed. What I'm trying to say is that there isn't any more of those goofy ahh bugs and inconveniences. The world, the characters, the story and music are there for you to explore. Oh, and on another note, I think it's unfair to say that V "just wanted to be a Night City legend", because David had no dream, or goal at all, he was just going with the flow, but obviously it's not just that it's much more complicated in both cases. And I think some of the 2077's (ahem, spoiler, ahem, the suicide and the Arasaka ending) endings were as hard hitting as Edgerunners ending. Bruh venting so much wtf, like🤓 Edit: For me personally, those endings were enough to justify the suffering that I went through playing the game at the launch. I also read your other comment and I think you don't actually need to connect to V to get similar experience from the endings. Like if you don't like the guy or hate his goofy ahh voice lines, you can still feel the weight of the situation and the complete lack of control that he has except from well ahem, SPOILERS, ahem the suicide ending.
When you realize the same writers literally wrote Edgerunners, so the same “cheesiness” is in the anime so it doesn’t really make much sense to say that about the game but not the show 🤔 I get it, you played day one and didn’t like the bugs and never went back. Just don’t act like the story and dialog was bad lol. Only valid argument is some outcomes can’t be changed in the game, which makes sense if you actually think about it.

Hello Scamboli, there's a 99.99% you wont read this comment, but on the off chance you do, I'd highly recommend reading, or maybe even doing a video on the Ajin Demihuman manga, I genuinely feel it's one of, if not the most underrated manga of all time, from beginning to end the series is a masterpiece. Tl;dr imagine if Tokyo Ghoul, Deadpool, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure had a baby. The Tokyo Ghoul being, the way the Demihumans are treated, the Deadpool being the immortality, and the JBA being the "stands" (IBM's) which they can summon. Overall the series is clever as hell, and the main antagonist Sato, is legit one of the best villains of ALL TIME, the art and combat scenes are mind blowing, it's seriously very good, yet so rarely talked about :( Anyway, thanks for reading, whoever read this comment .
Edgerunners and Arcane got me so excited for more animated game adaptations. They really show the best of both worlds between originals and manga adaptations; there's so much looser material that allows for more creativity, but doesn't have the burden of creating and pushing a new IP. Also, I know it's not technically anime, but did you ever think about taking about the Castlevania show?
I played the crap out of Cyberpunk months after it came out and when I heard that they were making an anime I was pumped. That was only bumped up even more when I found out Trigger was making the anime after I finished binging Kill la Kill. I knew for a fact that the animation was gonna be balls to walls and was gonna love it and they did not let me down at all. This anime is now in my top five favorite anime’s to say the least
Kinda sad you don’t mention the best parts of the game which are really the quiet story moments you have with Panam, Judy, Johnny, Claire, and more which is what really makes the game amazing in my opinion happy they brought that into the show which is what really made it great.
Hope he finishes the game. And not just the main story but all side story as well. The game's whole story basically a mix of action, lighthearted, humor, sad, and dark.
People only remember the launch, and he only mentioned the first 5 hours of a game the length of Fallout New Vegas. Then he says the choices don't affect anything even though there are half a dozen endings... Man.
@@hickory654 tbf, the main storyline is linear until the point-of-no-return missions (act 3), which is pretty much at the end of the game where you decide an ending to go with. So in a way, there isn't much player decision making that affects the story in any major way aside from choosing to complete side missions that affect your relationship with/story of certain characters and choosing to spare/kill/save others, and even then, they don't have much of an impact on the main story/endings. I really enjoyed the game's story, but I totally understand people's complaints that it didn't allow for real decision making like in FNV.

I just finished the show after watching your video and good lord was that amazing. My only complaint is I wish they were able to expand upon it and flesh things out more before the ending.
Finally a show I've watched before everyone could get their reviews out, thanks for adding the extended cyberpunk 2077 rant so I could manage that in time
This is what most Game companies often forgot when they're adapting their IP into an Animated show or a Movie or Series. They always thi k that its better to do it their way and have their own take on the story/world building. Arcane and EdgeRunner manage to create a show using the people that actually makes/ know about the world/story they're trying to adapt. By sticking closely with the devs that help make the series, it's a sure fire way of making a show that stays true to the world and story that actually matters in the context of the game. The animation studio are there to make the show beautiful and its the devs job to give it the soul of what they're trying to adapt. Kudos to companies that do their animation like this, we need more of them.
As someone who got an ultra rare functioning copy of cyberpunk 2077 I enjoyed the game, it wasn't a very complicated story but if you play the entire game including side quests it has an interesting world to dive into, the anime was better but if anyone likes the world from the anime checking out the game (PC still has the best experience from what I've heard) is worth it in my opinion.

I actually only had one issue in all my time playing 2077 and it was patched out in the first few days. I always see everyone saying how bad they had it, how buggy it was or that they couldn't even play it. It was such a foreign thought to me cause what everyone else seemed to experience was no where near what I experienced and I find it kind of sad cause I really had fun with it.
I mean my game was glitchy as hell but it was entirely just graphic glitches. Animations not loading properly, models not updating correct, textures not loading, anytime you could see V they wouldn't have a head, etc. Nothing game breaking though.
This is debatable, because it depends how you play the game. Really, if you do it right and dont try to interact with so many things at once (or do it on purpose just to cause it) it could be pretty painless and good experience. Also the longer you play its more likely to see weird stuff. Overall game is way better now, but initial reaction (hype and expectations were huge) is what counts for many, and it was bad. Since then majority is on same bandwagon (to shit on it). Game deserves a second chance, the concept is too good to abandon. Time will heal the wounds just like in No Man's Sky and even if CDPR stops working on it/fixing it, there always are modders.

anyone ever thought that maybe the game was released in an incomplete state because a bunch of nerds on the internet with nothing else to live for bitched and complained for years about them taking too long to make the game? Bought the game after I watched the anime and I've been loving it, still a few bugs, but only a crash or two. Edgerunners is anime of the year.
I played cyberpunk since launch and had minimal bugs. Sure the police weren’t that great and I’m glad they fixed it but it didn’t take away from the story. I’ve always believed cyberpunk has always been a good game since launch.
You forgot to mention the fact that the show is literally a AMV with the banger songs. Like God damn the last episode fucks you up with the music. Also I love the hell out of you scamboli thanks for the good laughs man. You were a mvp in my horrible breakup earlier this year
Cyberpunk 2077 (post 1.5 update) is a masterpiece idgaf if it had the worse launch in history right NOW it's an absolute work of art with an unrivaled atmosphere that Edgerunners expands on
I thought it was very good. Definitely worth what I paiid for it. (i think i started at 1.7) Witcher 3 is probably my favorite game of all time though.
I liked the video a lot, thankfully the game is in a good state nowadays because I remember the dread I felt thinking they skip town and abandon the game.
After watching the anime I was convinced to play the game again because I needed more of the world and the game is for the most part fixed. I've heard of a couple people still finding issues but I've only had a couple glitches and none of them were game breaking. Anyone who tried the game but couldn't get past the bugs should really try it again.
Just discovered your channel. Been really enjoying your videos. Saw this video, and was not disappointed at all. With cyberpunk being one of my favorite games since it came out, this review made me burst with laughter. Good and bad, I'm happy to see a well put together review if cyberpunk. Very object with humor. The anime is also one of my favorites! Happy you enjoyed it. I'd recommend giving CP2077 another shot. The story telling is soo amazing, but was overshadowed by the bugs... :(
I’m really glad they decided to make a show about Cyberpunk, the setting is WAY TOO COOL for them just to shelve and forget about
They aren't shelling this at all the reason the development stops after next dlc is because the red engine isn't good enough(same reason why every Bethesda game is a broken mess using an outdated engine) so they are dropping support from all there projects to focus on going Unreal engine
My only gripe is that the shows pacing is too fast
They arent shelving it they are going to be making more cyberpunk games
@@roshaanreddy8107 its not really too fast, its more like dense. You dont ruin it whatsoever, even tho i would have loved more bonding

laughed way too hard when they said police appears out of nowhere because this was a major bug in the game haha Also when a bunch of cars went flying around
They don't know how to integrate a flying vehicle to swoop in n' shit or even A DRIVE BY CAR

Something which blew me away was that the music in the anime is from the game. The song "who's ready for tomorrow" which plays while David is walking to to school fits him so well it's uncanny.

Remember Rebecca at the end right?
Yeah it's really ties the 2 different mediums together and makes you feel like it's the same city
I think some of the music is from the game too
I originally felt like the time skip was too sudden, but in retrospect I feel like it's better that way because it makes David's chrome transformation really jarring to the audience which fits with the whole idea of cyberpsychosis being kinda like body dysmorphia/disassociation
ending felt rushed too
It never felt rushed to me. It's almost like an anthropology. With that in mind, the fact we can instantly pick up on the fact that David didn't learn Maine's lesson, and is also more numb to the death around him means that there's no reason to see what happens in the mean time, you get it if you pick up on it.
i think one of the many strong points in this show is the dynamic between characters they make the group feel like a family in such a unforgiving world

The best way I can describe the show is an 80s anime with today's technology. Hella brutal and beautiful at the same time.
Absolutely. I’m surprised I haven’t heard the comparison to ultra violent ovas from the 80s more. The Netflix release allowed them to do stuff they wouldn’t be able to do in a tv anime.
I haven't watched any of the recent studio trigger works, but I got a really strong vibe of akira+red line out of this show, and I loved all of it.
Which means it has come full circle; Pondsmith used Bubblegum Crisis as a main inspiration for Cyberpunk in '88. Which is the source for the game.
Yes. To me, it has the same feel as something like Megazone 23, perhaps?
@@monkibro
To me it feels like Cowboy Bebop, it's an anime set in the future, it's quite melancholic and you only get a season.

This anime left a massive emoitional scars on me. Hearing "I really wanna stay at your house". Always make me sad and makes me cry most of the time
The biggest issue with this show is that there’s not enough of it
The show is actually a 10/10
9/10 imo, it needed like 2 or 3 more EPs, cause I would have loved to see more of David with the crew pre-EP6. Like, it would have given that episode even MORE impact (and maybe one more EP post-timeskip to showcase more of it)
But thats about it when it comes to the flaws, and when your main flaw is that there isnt "more" of the show, thats a pretty good flaw to have tbh lol
9/10 I don't know why they made it 10 episodes when there was so much to explore
no
@@yaboijebus1418 i agree that they could have made more eps. i would have loved to see more development between David and Lucy. but at the same time i feel like they did it on purpose. they stuffed the episodes to the brim with content. more and it would probably be to much for most people to handle. less and it would have slowed the phasing of the series. how do you make something perfect? some people enjoy the faster phasing, some dont. for me Cyberpunk Edgerunners is a 10/10. for some 6/10. who cares? if you loved it, you loved it!
Bruh venting so much wtf, like🤓
Edit: For me personally, those endings were enough to justify the suffering that I went through playing the game at the launch.
@@beastness501 💀The head writer for 2077 left the studio after it's release. The writer of Edgerunners had nothing to do with the game.
@@ScamboliReviews You should try to get into the tabletop if that's your thing, with an experienced DM. It won't be 100% the same experience, but most storytellers can do a better job than CDPR did even on an amateur level.
Overall the series is clever as hell, and the main antagonist Sato, is legit one of the best villains of ALL TIME, the art and combat scenes are mind blowing, it's seriously very good, yet so rarely talked about :(
Anyway, thanks for reading, whoever read this comment .
I found your yt channel like 2 days ago and I really like it keep the videos up❤❤
I love what you do with music between transitions where it reverbs, such an awesome small detail which makes your videos great!
As a polish guy I'm just happy something good came out from collaboration of CDPR and Trigger
Yeah, both this and Cyberpunk 2077
The hollow knight music when talking about the "coming when it's done".
The efforts that must have went into making this video , like goddamn scamboli my man
Kinda sad you don’t mention the best parts of the game which are really the quiet story moments you have with Panam, Judy, Johnny, Claire, and more which is what really makes the game amazing in my opinion happy they brought that into the show which is what really made it great.
He only had 35 hours on the game, so he probably hasn't seen most or any of that stuff.
I don't think he played the game fully.
Yeah this anime shook me to the core. Absolutely stoked that every time I find a sick anime a scamboli vid drops on it a week later
I've been watching your videos for about a year now, I never posted a comment (at least I think I didn't) until now. I just wanted to say that every video I watch I always get pleaseantly surprised, your videos genuinely make me feel joy. The way you explain stories and even the way you speak is just perfection. Anyway I can't really come up with a way to end this long ass comment so I'll just put a dot right here.
Cyberpunk as a setting isnt from video game, it wasnt cd project red original IP but a adaptation of the Cyberpunk 2020 TTrpg
I couldn't finish it due to sad
CD Projekt Red will go bankrupt soon because almost everyone refunded Cyberpunk 2077
@@exysa2798 bruh that was like a year ago...stop reposting old data and news

also, i'm _so glad_ my cheap ass waited until 2022 to buy and play this game. I _loved it!_ but I see the launch videos and haha - man those are rough.
I like your sense of comedy, the way you describe things, you [bad] special effects and the observations you make [most of the time] that I missed! Currently bingewatching your videos. May comment again.

"I have never heard to a polish person speak in my entire life"
**Proceeds to speak Russian accent*
I actually only had one issue in all my time playing 2077 and it was patched out in the first few days. I always see everyone saying how bad they had it, how buggy it was or that they couldn't even play it. It was such a foreign thought to me cause what everyone else seemed to experience was no where near what I experienced and I find it kind of sad cause I really had fun with it.
Same here, had a grand total of 5 glitches in all my play throughs. It's a great game, shame so many people had issues.
I had a few in my first 144 houers but they where funny. (Its raining cars in the badlands) that Was in January of 2021
And one crash in my second playthrough right before fighting smasher. (Patch 1.5)
Nothing so far in my New playthrough (Patch 1.6)
@@StrataVision oh naw I played this game like an ape man, constantly looking for trouble to get into, main quests and side quests armore/clothes/mod/weapon hunting, going from melee to ranged in combat as quick as a CoD kid bunny hops around corners. I tried to push the game as hard as I could and as fast as I could cause me, my friends and brother were all racing to the end.
Still one of my favorite experiences even if it wasn't well received for its issues for others
It’s rare to see an anime adaptation of a video game be infinitely better than the actual game
Ok yes
Wouldn't say "infinitely", c2077 got improved by a lot and is a top-tier RPG even though it didn't meet the "be all end all" expectations
mustache guy is part of the scamboli notification gang confirmed
@@Damian-ew1vl It’s a top tier game. Wouldn’t say it does anything better than other RPGs in terms of that genre.

This is the only RUclipsr that can make the same 5 songs snap in every video on god
legit got cyberpunk the day after launch for ps4 and it was fun and not game breakingly buggy or even that buggy at all and barely ever crashed which is considerably low standards but was still a fun game
Just finished watching this today. What a trip! I hope it does well enough for more series set in the CyberPunk universe.
I'm so excited you decided to make a video on this anime, I have finished the game and felt like the story and the world had so much potential to be more and studio trigger delivered. Appreciate it Scamboli
I Loved this anime it's so fun and exciting and it doesn't pull punches with the vulgarity of night city honestly perfect recreation of the world its based on
lots of people are commenting on the fact that this show isn't long enough and you're right...
But at the same time this of the story of a boy who's life is constantly moving and if you don't keep up you'll get left behind. The speed of this show is supposed to portray how the people you hold so close can be gone just like that. People discredit it and say they want more but we should be thankful for the art that was given to us rather than the excess that wasn't.
Sometimes Less is more
They kept telling me David's implant was "military grade," but no military in the entire show ever had something remotely comparable.
I really hope they make more edgerunners, they could use all new characters, but it was SO good
anyone ever thought that maybe the game was released in an incomplete state because a bunch of nerds on the internet with nothing else to live for bitched and complained for years about them taking too long to make the game? Bought the game after I watched the anime and I've been loving it, still a few bugs, but only a crash or two.
Edgerunners is anime of the year.
Probably because of investors if anything.
I love this video. Your humour and storytelling is so fucking good.
I played cyberpunk since launch and had minimal bugs. Sure the police weren’t that great and I’m glad they fixed it but it didn’t take away from the story. I’ve always believed cyberpunk has always been a good game since launch.
I finished it yestersay. Probably gonna change my life for the better soon.
1:32 really happened
Yes
You forgot to mention the fact that the show is literally a AMV with the banger songs. Like God damn the last episode fucks you up with the music. Also I love the hell out of you scamboli thanks for the good laughs man. You were a mvp in my horrible breakup earlier this year
Cyberpunk 2077 (post 1.5 update) is a masterpiece idgaf if it had the worse launch in history right NOW it's an absolute work of art with an unrivaled atmosphere that Edgerunners expands on
No...
If you go into it with 0 expectations (like I did) you'll have a good time, but calling it a masterpiece is copium ngl
I thought it was very good. Definitely worth what I paiid for it. (i think i started at 1.7)
Witcher 3 is probably my favorite game of all time though.
dude i love your humor and the content keep it up!
I liked the video a lot, thankfully the game is in a good state nowadays because I remember the dread I felt thinking they skip town and abandon the game.
It's always great to see new Cyberpunk anime getting. This one was amazing. I hope they make more of these in the future :D
This guy disappears, returns once a decade and cures my depression. But this time he does it by reviewing peak, can't get better
Oh thank Scamboli! I was so hoping and kinda knew you'd make a video on this soon
