They obviously don’t have to pull permits or wait for inspections. It’s amazing to see things being done the right way and free of red tape and government bureaucracy and regulations.
Because this was a rebuild of an existing structure and no changes were made to the footprint, no township planning or approval was required, and most townships give the permit for free or a minimal charge. Had this been an entirely new farm, the owner would have tons of red tape and the process could take a very long time to approve.
This is why I have an unending amount of repect for the Amish. They are a wonderful people. They refrain from modern convieniences to retain this level of community and humility before God. The Amish community as a whole paid for this rebuild too. They live their faith. It was nice to see English crews working too.
Refrain from modern conveniences? You didn't notice the cranes and forklifts? How do you think they fill those silos? Do you think they milk those cows by hand? Mostly, they refrain from excess, a virtue we all could use a little of.
All this is Voluntary to help rebuild this barn. And they do it all the time. Barns/Houses. What ever is needed. This my friends, Is Real America. 💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.
The camaraderie within the Amish community is an admirable trait that's obviously missing today within the general population. Their cohesive lifestyle is to be admired.
Praise God that such men and women still exist. This is the result of leaning on God to make a pathway in times of need. Thanks so very much for allowing us to view this beautiful tribute to what can be accomplished when we place our trust in Him and Him alone.🇺🇸🚒🐄🙏🏻
Just amazing! I was watching the "likes" increase in number as the barn was being built, but I think the barn won the day! A great testimony to the hard working men and the women who fed them. I just wish our country could work this way, I know at one time it did.
This is amazing on many levels, I am in my 60th year as a Architectural Technician, I have never seen anything like this. First of all someone had to come up with drawings for this in the first 24 hours, you need a way to take off the materials. Where in the world do you get roof trusses of this magnitude made in three days and assembled in one? Where do you get metal cladding and roofing cut to length and delivered in four days? The effort is a testament to these amazing people. And they rested on the seventh day.
They have their own sources for some of the items like beams. Sometimes they store them on other farms just in case. I lived in Lancaster County for 25 yrs. My husband was involved with them as a produce man. He was welcomed by several Amish families to visit their farms. And had the chance to watch a barn raising after a fire. We have the utmost respect for them. Amazing and kind people.
There is an amish Architect that probably had the prints ready by the next morning theres also amish owned businesses nearby such as lumber yards. timber frame manufacturing, roof truss manufacturing and metal roofing and siding manufacturing as well as many construction companies that put everything on hold to help in a situation like this. It truly is a huge blessing in this area and pray that it is never lost
Lots of Amish where I live in Wisconsin I've worked with them .around here they all have saw mills and have metal business so that After the fire they all start cutting lumber get there dimensions and make the metal so forth all in all there are very nice and helpful even when a non Amish has a fire they come and help any way they can
WOW, WHO, WOW. What an incredible watch this was.. It was so heartwarming on so many fronts.. The community responding, the speed of response, the industrious delivery of the rebuild along with the materials delivery, the conscientious helpers. From feeding the helpers, their horses. Regardless of politics or religion the world could learn a lot from everyone behaving like this. Well done.
That is so unbelievable. That’s how all communities should come together when a disaster like that happens. They all work together so well and the their craftsmanship is amazing.
How grateful that no life was lost, even the animals were spared from this tragic fire! Wonderful to see the Amish community come together to help their own in their time of need. This is a long-time custom and is much admired by the English. We are so happy that their barn has been rebuilt in such a timely manner.😊👍
We are so happy for this farmer being born in Pennsylvania I have great respect for all my Amish neighbors. Learn to live with love in our hearts for all.
The Amish are known for their excellent craftmanship in building & everything they do. They are the only people who come together to help those in their community when it's needed & the only ones who help their own people when tragedy hits. I'm 70 yrs old & on my own & would enjoy being part of their community however I have limited income. A GREAT JOB of excellence! Accomplishing that much needed major task of rebuilding in that short time span is hard work. To everyone helping - women & men - it's nice to see people who come together knowing they each have a job/role to do to get it done correctly.
I live a quarter mile from this barn. My wife and I drove by every day watching the progress. I told my wife they would have a new barn up in a week. Lol. I was off by one day.
We saw the smoke from the fire while traveling to our relatives on Thanksgiving morning. Our route usually takes us along Strasburg Pike but it was closed to traffic. We went home on Monday, passing the barn, they were already well into framing the second floor. Truly amazing what can be accomplished with a hundred carpenters and not waiting around for building permits.
Never fail to be impressed by these hard working people who practice what they preach and live out their faith through their actions and dedication to fellow members of their own community. Not just a barn in 6 days ... a massive mega-barn that'd swell the chest of any farmer!! Great work!
Much like this great team of people, back in the '80s, I was part of the engineering corps in the military. Our camp, home to about 600-700 soldiers and officers, was suddenly called into action one night. We had to clean up after a severe accident: two semi trucks had collided in the countryside, not far from our camp. One was carrying fish, the other a large petrol tank. The crash had caused a fire that burned down four houses. That first night, our task was to clean up the scattered fish from the road, working alongside the fire crew who were busy putting out the house fires. Local road assistance companies helped us move and haul away the wreckage of the semi trucks. The following day, we switched to operating heavy machinery like excavators, bulldozers, and dump trucks. We worked in 8-hour shifts, clearing debris and preparing the site for reconstruction. By the second night, our focus shifted to laying down infrastructure for new houses. We worked on connecting waterlines and sewage systems to four new house lots. The concrete foundations were poured on the third day. I vividly remember working through the third night, helping to erect the walls of the new houses. In just 7-8 days, thanks to the coordinated efforts of our crew and some locals, we managed to rebuild what was lost in the accident. It was an incredible demonstration of what can be achieved in a short time with a well-organized team.
While they are Amish and this is how they live, the fact that so many people, with so many talents, can put their own lives and responsibilities aside to help one single family recover from what would be a devastating tragedy to most of us, speaks volumes for their lifestyle. Not only the men who came out to do the construction, but their wives and families who also sacrificed and helped in untold ways while they did the work. Its hard to wrap your mind around it.
God Bless every one of them. I am verry happy there was NO loss of life or injuries. The rest of the world should follow The Amish and come together. They are so genuine and gentle. If I were there, I would GLADLY volunteer my time to help. God Bless All.
I think it's wonderful how the non-Amish people came to help. The Amish are obliged to help each other, but the others do it all voluntarily. Big shout out to them!

What an astonishing achievement! And what a community. I'm an old, cynical atheist but I was moved to tears several times during this by the sheer determination of everyone, and that includes the power company linesmen too! I nearly forgot, at 28 minutes, is that the highest washing line in the world?! What are the two lines of raised roof fixings on the lower slopes of the roofs?
Line looks like a pulley type line, and it's coming off the back deck which looks to be off the 2nd story. Having it up that high it catches a good breeze and it's out of the way.

Our son worked for the brother-in-law of the owner. They were setting up for wedding services in the loft. Gifts of appreciation for wedding waiters and assistants were lost in the fire. Video shows six days of construction, not sure if it indicated, but cows were milked in the barn that evening. And, two weeks later the wedding or reception was held in the loft.

I am going in the tech field and moving outside of California. I would love to work with these people… the work ethic and family values is just difficult to ignore. God Bless these people. This is America.
Wonderful to watch. No nail guns. (Oops, I take that back. I did notice a few.) Reminded me in a good way of the way ants and bees all work together in coordination, each with a role, for their community. So many hands at work the way it used to be. Coordinating this build, planning, figuring out who many supplies were needed and getting them on site at the right time, and directing so many workers is an amazing feat. Whoever was in charge did a fantastic job. And I noticed the huge amount of laundry hung out to dry on a line high in the air. Incredible.
Totally agree about being wonderful to watch. I too, noticed the lack of nail guns and all the other mod cons that builders use these days. What I also noticed, specially in the drone shots, was the total lack of men standing back, doing nothing or on their cell phones...everyone was on the move and doing their bit of the rebuild, without a second thought. And for those of us who might not share their religious beliefs, you have to applaud their ethics and community spirit and that includes the wives who looked after them. Such a huge team effort and thanks for posting this video. Truly inspirational!
Gentlemen, absolutely incredible the amazing teamwork your community demonstrates. For a retired city person, it is amazing to watch a project of this size take shape. God bless you all.
Truly amazing and just shows what can be done by people coming together rather than apart like our nation is becoming. Just amazing the camaraderie of everyone in the community. Thank you❤
There was indeed a time when a work ethic similar to the coming together here was not so very rare as is the case today in these once united States. Always so refreshing to see how a community coming together of it own volition may bring a new start after such a loss, and with no interference of government operatons! Thank You for this Awesome story! -Bob...
I would love to see a vid on the logistical process. It is simply amazing that all the materials were available in such a short time. Heck even the feeding of all the people has to have been amazing. Did the women of the community contribute to the feeding of all those men?
So heart warming to see! This is a lesson in possibilities. People can accomplish so much when we come together and help one another. This is still a lesson not fully embraced, we all benefit when we all do well. My hope for this crazy conflicted world starts there! ❤
True hard working man power. Working together to get the job done. Good neighbors helping each other. If everybody in this world was like these folks, it would be a better world.
Thanks for this video that's done so well !! I've always admired the Amish for their selflessness - The rest of us certainly need to take some lessons !!! Thanks again for your time - Well done !!!
This is incredible. No design time, no blueprints, or drawings. Its all in someones head? I can't buld a cabinet without some kind of sketch to figure out what to do. 100 Guys doing different things that somehow work together and come out right. Doesn't seem possible.
They must have had a set a plans ready for this rebuild. This much complicated work can't come together without it. As a former builder, the only thing I see lacking is 6 or 8 more Porta Potties for this large crew!! Great work!
I am totally amazed at how kind and supportive the Amish community is. I only have two questions, where are the cattle and who is caringg for them? Who is doing these builders work while they are building this barn?
They have their own saw mills and as the man said in the beginning the needs of this barn were put first , so any orders that were being worked on were put to use on this job
More like money talks. That's commercial lumber, you think some Amish sawmill had that much laying around? The metal roofing and siding? The milker company and electricians started as soon as the loft floor was completed. The silo repairs weren't shown but the silo company did that on Sunday and Monday. Rental company had equipment there the day after Thanksgiving and thru the weekend. As did the concrete company. Yep, money talks.
@@farmerbill6855The Amish don't have 'A' sawmill they have SEVERAL. They are allowed machinery as long as it is BUSINESS use sanctioned by bishops. Those rental companies likely are Amish run in that neck of the woods. You'd be surprised
@@Og-Judy they don't surprise me, I've seen them buy farm land with cash. Two old school milk cans full of cash. That's commercial, graded lumber. You think they have a block company? That's one of their concrete trucks?

Amish aren't loathe to use tings like nail guns, saws for metal sheets. They just don't own them.
What a beautiful thing community is. If we could only all be more like this.
It's impressive that the new building are up and being used before all the old burned building and materials stop smoldering.
Beautiful! The community came through!❤️🇺🇸🐎🐗🌹
Gentlemen, absolutely incredible the amazing teamwork your community demonstrates.
-Bob...
The amish will always have my respect i love how they dont let anything stop them they just do what they gotta do.
God Bless the Fire and EMS that responded!
Loving one another is truly the way of life. Thank-you for setting an example for the world to see.
I would love to see a vid on the logistical process. It is simply amazing that all the materials were available in such a short time. Heck even the feeding of all the people has to have been amazing. Did the women of the community contribute to the feeding of all those men?
An amazing feat..I worked with a lot Amish folk over my career. They have an awesome work ethic. Thanks for the video.
Where did the milk herd go and who milked them? Tremendous rebuild and I agree there is a lot of lessons for us to learn here!
I wonder if they divided them up amongst their neighbors for the time being? A few to each, or so?
Their is usually an empty barn somewhere in the neighborhood that the cows go the in a time like this ,maybe a retired farmers barn
I'm impressed. Great accomplishment. Their community effort, and support is a great example for any town and/or city to follow.
So heart warming to see! This is a lesson in possibilities. People can accomplish so much when we come together and help one another. This is still a lesson not fully embraced, we all benefit when we all do well. My hope for this crazy conflicted world starts there! ❤
Many hands make light work! Fantastic community spirit.
Absolutely an Awesome example of a wholesome community..... God Bless
Awesome video. God bless brother.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
True hard working man power. Working together to get the job done. Good neighbors helping each other. If everybody in this world was like these folks, it would be a better world.
What awesome job. Having lived in an Amish Community wonderful people if you treat them respectfully will be great friends. 😊
A very good video, we all should be willing to help people or neighbors in need. I also enjoyed the music. Great video
Thanks for this video that's done so well !!
I've always admired the Amish for their selflessness - The rest of us certainly need to take some lessons !!!
Thanks again for your time - Well done !!!
So great to see the community come to the aid of another! It was definitely an amazing video. Thanks for sharing it!
That's the most awesome thing I've seen in a long time God bless all of you
I am amazed that they were able to obtain ALL the building material so quickly !!! and to get it all put together. fantastic job !!!
We have Amish in our area that have their own equipment and business that are capable of doing this. Also the largest agricultural building construction company has a large Amish workforce. @@farmerbill6855
The work was beautifully done. Just think what we could accomplish if all of us worked together.
Truly amazing the way they manage together and the speed at which they compete this project ❤😅!
Thank you to the community for all the fine work you did.
This is what America is all about. God Bless to all those souls that were involved and many thanks!
At least all human & animal life was spared/safe and sound from the tragic barn establishment of the fire. God bless all who participated in the rebuilding process of the barn and the adjacent wings of the barn for these wonderful people in this world!!
Organized Chaos. These guys really have their act together. Nice video.
Amazing work god is great for bringing that amount of love to there neighbor and family
This is what America USE TO BE, neighbor helping neighbor, sad its not anymore.....Bless this community!
That was true look at what can happen if you all club together, well done to all
What a great video I have a huge amount of respect for the driven attitudes and collaborative efforts of the amish. Great job!
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I appreciate them both greatly.
Definitely something to be said about community taking care of each other in this we could all learn a little something from them on that front
I can only imagine the emotional impact of the owner. From the barn burning and then the support of the community rebuilding it. God works in mysterious ways!
Amazing. Credit to whomever figured out what supplies needed to be ordered!
I live in Amish country here in NY, I have watched this action from Barns to houses, it is amazing the work they do and how many help.. being in the constructioin industry they works so fast and there is so many of them I can't believe they do not get in each others way.
Hi! If I may respectfully ask, where do you consider Amish country in NY State? Ogdensburg/along the St. Lawrence, or more like Ames in Schoharie and also Montgomery counties? Or where do you think of please? I am very interested to learn. Thank you.
Absolutely love the way Amish live and work there craftsmanship and quality work is amazing we buy our furniture from Amish store and I tell you what you will never have to buy anymore as long as u live they are sturdy and well crafted I would love to find an Amish family that would work with us to allow me to show our kids the way of life without having electricity and game systems for them to learn and have more appreciation for what they have
That's so sad.but it's wonderful that you got the help
Truly admirable.
If the Amish had a fighting army they would be unstoppable! Great job! Btw I need a little help around my farm this weekend. We could be done by 8:15 if you brought all your friends.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate that and your comment greatly. Not sure about this weekend though. 🤣🤣
Awesome ❤ from Western Kentucky
Great video, 👍, incredible people amazing can't say enough, the way life should be. I wish that I grew up and was raised Amish
The craftsmanship is just so perfect and orchestrated.
