This is what communities should look like. 😢 sad no one acts like this anymore. I have a lot of respect for the Amish communities, especially after 2020.
I completely agree. I was born and raised in Lancaster County, and I have seen this so many times. There are a few reasons why they are able to do this. Although permits are required for this type of construction, the local governments pretty much just issue them or ignore them because they know the quality of work that the Amish do. You will never see an OSHA inspector on one of these job sites. They know better.
Our decline is social media, wasting time communicating with people far away that have no real value in our lives. Smart phones are to blame also. If the internet died one day, communities would grow and we would connect more with the people around us.
Saw the Amish community many years ago in HoneyBrook, PA when an Amish farmer's barn was struck by lightening and destroyed by fire. Within a week this family had a brand new barn including a new foundation, larger than what they lost. Youngsters also had jobs tom. do, the ladies fed the entire crew 3 meals each day. What an experience to watch this community come together for the benefit of one family in their community. Really inspiring.
I live near an Amish community in Kentucky. After I had a heart attack they asked what I wanted to do. I said i didn’t know. They said we think you should build a new shop at the bottom of the hill. Bigger and easier to work in. I bought the materials. They brought the manpower to build and the woman power to feed. In four days (4!!) they finished a 4,000 sq foot building!! Everything except the electrical. Done in the dead of winter freezing cold. Kids, young men , old men. Everyone just knew what to do!! What a blessing. I’m their volunteer ambulance now whenever anyone needs to go to hospital night or day. I feel life has gotten better and better. That’s neighboring. Anybody anywhere can do it. Put God first then help your neighbor. You won’t regret it!
My thoughts are how in the world do they get the supplies they need in such a short period of time? They definitely are very well organized and have the sharing thing figured out! God bless them and their cooperative spirit! We all can learn from them if we only would!
14 years old, living in Buck in Lancaster County. Sat and watched a barn raise out of the dirt in a day near the foundry. Seeing that entire community rally together to get that done changed something in me. I had never seen so many people that didn't need told what to do. Everyone had a place and everyone instinctively knew what needed done. Truly impressive.
Step back and realize the incredible skill levels in your community. As an engineer, I'm impressed, huge hat tip gents. To do this all in 2 weeks is unheard of.
This is absolutely Amazing. I’ve always known how the Amish community pulls together in times of crisis, but watching the whole thing in progress, puts a new perspective on it. God Bless.
A defining moment for me was an Amish man driving along the road in a typical Amish horse and buggy followed closely by another Amish man driving an industrial sized forklift. The modern Amish today! 🇨🇦
Sincerely admire the Amish for their craftsmanship, resilience, community, intelligence, fortitude, cooperation and dedication to their faith, families, friends and neighbors.
If this was any other mass project, it would take about a year to complete. Any other "English " construction of this size would be held up by red tape. Building permits, construction phase inspections from township codes enforcement officers, insurance claims, bank applications, safety consultants, environmental impact studies, union contracts, etc. The state should hire the Amish to build our public roads and bridges and other public work projects.

I haven't seen a barn raising since 40 years ago when I saw the movie "Witness" starring Harrison Ford. Thank you for the time and effort you spent in creating this wonderful work.
I luckily found this on the internet. I’m retired and an Amish driver in Clinton county PA. When this was going on every 3 days I was transporting workers back and forth that Clinton county Amish business would send down to help. 3 days Lancaster 3 days home. This went on for the duration of the build
Thank you for sharing this video, watching those young men build the silos was really something. Watching all of it was amazing, such hard, talented builders they sure know how to build a barn and silos. Wish we could have watched the women do all the cooking they work hard as well. Again thank you for an awesome video. God bless you
I was about 11 when I first learned of the Amish while visiting family in PA. I was fascinated and interested ever since and recently learned that one of our ancestors came from Germany to PA with an Amish group. I love their spirit of community and this video is just more proof of how tight knit their communities are. I'm sorry for their losses in the fire but so pleased they were able to rebuild so quickly.
Just think- if a local, state or federal governmental agency had this job to do it would probably take 7 1/2 years to complete. Hire these men to rebuild our roads if you want to see shit happen!
An absolutely beautiful site to watch this video seeing the entire Amish community come to their neighbors' aid during his most crucial time of need. Family, Friends, Neighbors ALL of them being relentless for this lengthy process. I am in awe of its entirety but mostly I can feel all those arms surrounding that family for protection. God Bless You ALL.
There is so much us "forward thinking" people could learn from the Amish. A work ethic, loyalty, helping your neighbor rather then forming HOA's to control them, and assisting their community members when they are in need not stealing from them to get it. So ma y other things as well but hats off to them and their pure souls.

The world could learn a lot from the Amish... It's mind blowing how fast they get supplies to build everything. I'm in Az and if that were to be built here, it'd take 6-12 months (if not longer) with all the red tape and politics involved. Totally mind blowing...
These Amish are like worker ants who never quit and accomplish amazing feats, just imagine if the whole world worked together like this with no dictators or greedy politicians ??
I sooo yearn for those days back ! I'm a thoroughbred Appalachian Mountain man in the mountains of N.C. , I grew up in one house , I got married and bought a ole farm house 100 yds from where I was born and raised ! By The age of 6 , I was working everyday Picking Corn & Picking up Potatoes , Cleaning stalls , anything that needed done till I was Probably 15 , 16 , I wished I could Go Back and count the Loads of Firewood I've cut and busted and stacked ! Our Nation Could learn a Good lesson to live by from the Amish !
The thing I find the most amazing about the Amish is that they apparently have no such thing as health insurance but if any member of the community has a catastrophic medical bill, the entire community pitches in and pays that bill so no family is ever wiped out by debt. That is AWESOME!
Thanks for watching. I appreciate your time. They do have health insurance but it isn’t in the traditional sense like you have written. A comparable health insurance outside the Amish communities would be Brother’s Keepers which is also a community sharing plan.
Just imagine if every community followed this example. No one would be homeless and everyone would help each other. Isn't that what communities are all about?
@@joehutmacher3323 Worship helps reinforce the right behaviors and beliefs, but the main difference is that the Amish invest in and support their communities. Community was the backbone of this country. Now, it's just Wall Street and a small number of individuals and institutions with concentrated wealth & power who have eviscerated communities across rural America leaving devastation behind and impoverishing communities and individuals.
50 yrs ago the Wife and I lived in an Amish community in Ohio, we watched 2 houses about the same size being built just next door to each other. The Amish house was completed and people were moving in while the "English" house was yet to have a roof or siding. Must have been 50 Amish folk working on that house at the same time......
The EXACTLY what people suppose to do for their OWN PEOPLE... we English are NOTHING more than PRIDE walking around Trying to DO MORE than the next person or degrade them in some way!!!!
Übersetzter Text In Germany, it takes 6 months for everything to be clarified with the insurance company. Nothing happens before that. Here, the Amish just pull everything up again in 2 weeks! You are only strong in a group. My greatest respect!
And how would we be if we all worked like that. No man in the straw hat is compensated by anything but breakfast lunch dinner and drinks. Obviously the communal chest pays for the materials because those things aren't manufactured and purchased for free but in essence this is the way of community should be this is what the Lord called us to be and if we were like this there would be no strife there would be no war there would be no grief or poverty or mass sickness or plague. No individual is wealthy and no individual has poverty this is Howard community should be. It requires faith and devotion and belief and commitment. Unfortunately things mostly lost in our modern economy. Thank you for sharing this this is such a glimpse into how it should have been and how it should be. If I could I would I'm old and I have nothing to contribute now I'm broken and I have nothing to give not even my labor anymore but I would if I could. Thank you for your magnificent work in your video. May peace reign in your heart and in your home.
@@jeffholverson8294 Bullcrap ! They all pay into the community chest . But none of them ever tell anyone how much they make yearly . And they have a lot of unclaimed income too
The man power mustered is one thing, quite astounding. But the logistics for all the materials is quite another feat. I’m astounded that the suppliers even came close to having all materials on hand or even close to it. It had to been pulled in from across the state or many states. Quite an astounding feat. I’ve been in construction for some 40 years and there is no way this could be attained in any other setting other than a community such as this. I’ve built my own home from beginning to end. The number of days passed by, I’d still be waiting for my plans to be approved and permits taken. I did the dirty work and my father scheduled all the materials to be delivered in a timely fashion to keep me trucking along uninterrupted. His help was a huge factor in completing the job in a timely fashion. Thanks pops.
Thanks for watching! The suppliers are pretty much all right here in the county. Concrete, steel, lumber, metal roofing and siding, preformed concrete, stanchions, barn curtains, etc. There are hundreds of construction/excavation contractors being supplied daily. The amount of building in this county is mind boggling.
Wish the rest of the world was like them. Helping your fellow man. Awesome people. Craftsmanship beyond the normal.

Thank God that no person or animal perished in this. Homes and buildings can be rebuilt, as shown here, but lives can not
Unbelievable what was done just showes what can be done when communitys work together. Hats off to amish people .great video
I would love to be involved with one of their projects like this, but fear being mere English I wouldn’t keep up! Absolutely fantastic!
Fantastic video! The drone work and voice over are spot on. I watched this from beginning to end. Simply amazing how the Amish come together in time of crisis.
God bless you
It’s great to see how the Amish community comes together to help each other 👍
I was about 11 when I first learned of the Amish while visiting family in PA. I was fascinated and interested ever since and recently learned that one of our ancestors came from Germany to PA with an Amish group. I love their spirit of community and this video is just more proof of how tight knit their communities are. I'm sorry for their losses in the fire but so pleased they were able to rebuild so quickly.
That is good that no animals were lost, and no one injured, 💯.
Just think- if a local, state or federal governmental agency had this job to do it would probably take 7 1/2 years to complete. Hire these men to rebuild our roads if you want to see shit happen!
at a cost of $1B for some reason
An absolutely beautiful site to watch this video seeing the entire Amish community come to their neighbors' aid during his most crucial time of need. Family, Friends, Neighbors ALL of them being relentless for this lengthy process. I am in awe of its entirety but mostly I can feel all those arms surrounding that family for protection. God Bless You ALL.
Everyone everywhere should be like this community. Awesome job Everyone.
Thank you for producing this video. I have always admired the Amish community's ability to come together for helping out each other.
There is so much us "forward thinking" people could learn from the Amish. A work ethic, loyalty, helping your neighbor rather then forming HOA's to control them, and assisting their community members when they are in need not stealing from them to get it. So ma y other things as well but hats off to them and their pure souls.
The Vintage Rd farm is in my childhood neighborhood i know the folks just wondering what started the blaze. I so appreciate the videos of the amish community
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
All In 13 Days!!! THAT Is What
COMMUNITY Is All About!!!
☮️💜🇺🇸
Thanks for the Excellent Job with this Video. If gives Many of Us the Hope we need to Clearly See their are a Lot of Fantastic Human Beings on this Earth. 🙏
I really wish that we had this kind of community 😢❤
great video. appreciated seeing how everyone had their job and worked together. My sister lives in between Reading and Birdsboro along route 422. it nice country and has grown immensely in the past 20 years. thanks for sharing.
Amazing and uplifting! Well done to all those involved in this endeavor.
That has to be a 3 million dollar project. If not more. They are amazing. ❤
I have no idea how this video got recommended in my feed, but I’m really glad it did. This was fascinating to watch. Absolutely incredible amount of work ethic and skill on display after a massive hardship. I swear, if America ever gets decimated on a large scale (God willing that never happens,) it will be the Amish and Farmers in general who build us back. Their skill level and knowledge and willingness to work hard and work together is what would be needed and they’d get it done! Just incredible what they can accomplish in such a short period of time.
Thank you for sharing this! 🙏🏼🇺🇸
The world could learn a lot from the Amish... It's mind blowing how fast they get supplies to build everything. I'm in Az and if that were to be built here, it'd take 6-12 months (if not longer) with all the red tape and politics involved. Totally mind blowing...
This what teamwork and dedication to your community looks like,
These Amish are like worker ants who never quit and accomplish amazing feats, just imagine if the whole world worked together like this with no dictators or greedy politicians ??
I sooo yearn for those days back ! I'm a thoroughbred Appalachian Mountain man in the mountains of N.C. , I grew up in one house , I got married and bought a ole farm house 100 yds from where I was born and raised ! By The age of 6 , I was working everyday Picking Corn & Picking up Potatoes , Cleaning stalls , anything that needed done till I was Probably 15 , 16 , I wished I could Go Back and count the Loads of Firewood I've cut and busted and stacked ! Our Nation Could learn a Good lesson to live by from the Amish !
Well done to this respectable community.
I have the highest of all respect and appreciation for the Amish
For you to share this effort is very special. Thank you for letting us realize this.
What a great gift from god. Great things happen when brothers work together.
How are the cows taken care of and milked during this time?
Everyone of them worships the Lord on Sunday. That’s the main difference
What a staggering achievement by these wonderful people. Great logistics and workmanship.
Happily Retired Elect. / Mech. Engineer
Ya, but the amish house had no wiring,, lights, furnace plumbing or other thing to install
They do have plumbing and gas lights @@fredfrey2582
@@fredfrey2582some Amish communities have indoor plumbing nowdays.
The EXACTLY what people suppose to do for their OWN PEOPLE... we English are NOTHING more than PRIDE walking around Trying to DO MORE than the next person or degrade them in some way!!!!

In Germany, it takes 6 months for everything to be clarified with the insurance company.
L.O.L. There are loads of wealthy Amish , your ignorant of them
@@robertkreiling1746 very true but they didn't make that money helping build their neighbors Barn
Stand strong brother, you may be giving more than you know. 😊
@@jeffholverson8294 Bullcrap ! They all pay into the community chest . But none of them ever tell anyone how much they make yearly . And they have a lot of unclaimed income too
@@robertkreiling1746 they are communially wealthy. no one person is wealthy on their own.
