I love the 24mm! Its now my favorite lens

I received mine 2 days ago. I hate the click they do once you turn the rigs to the end. I would pay 50 more for them to be properly dampened.

If you could only purchase one of these lenses, which focal length would it be?
    Awesome review!

My favorite focal length is a full frame 35mm, so the 24 apsc here - but that will vary greatly depending on what youre shooting! Thanks for the kind words, Max

    Are Nightwalker set anamorphic?

  • @madedigital

If you had the option 35mm in the NW or 35mm in Sirui anamorphic which one would you pick

I havent used the Sirui anamorphic, but those are two very different lenses with different looks. It depends on the project!

I purchased a 50mm 1.33x anamorphic 1.8 and use it for photography. The focus is very sensitive so you have to take your time and make sure you have it where you want, but when you nail it the clarity is absolutely unreal, even wide open. Probably the sharpest lens i have ever used. Of course, anamorphic doesnt fit every project, but it is incredible if that is what you are going for.

I think they'll do autofocus via an additional lidar attachment probably via an active hotshoe mount with an option to run it via a cable if you're rigging out.

That would be interesting! I havent used the liar autofocus systems yet, would love to test one out

I wonder how they do against the zhongyi mitakon t1.0 s35 lens

Havent had a chance to check out the Zhongyi yet but would love to do some tests

@@keith-knittel it would be great to compare the budget s35 lenses. There are 4 of them I believe; Viltrox S35, 7artisan vision cine s35, zhongyi mitakon and the sirui nightwalker. All around the same focal lengths

It would be interesting to see how these lenses compare to my vintage lenses I currently use as I'm almost thinking my lenses may eek them out in image quality (but again, side by side testing would be ideal).

What vintage lenses do you have?

    • @EmberSkyMedia
      @EmberSkyMedia 11 месяцев назад +1

@@keith-knittel I have some Nikon Vintage Lenses, Noct-Nikkor 58mm (my goto night-time film lens), 105, 28, 35 H/E/etc series. I'm working on a "set" for a video on their characteristics as I think they do a really good job.

Better invest in a proper new set of the Cooke lenses. Yes, heaps more expensive, but also a lot more future (lifetime) proof

Would love to get my hands on some cooke glass. The new SP3's look interesting

Yes obviously but they are also 15 times the price

@@sjoerdsiemes True. Still, better options out there: NISI Athena, DZO Vespids, Dulens..
