So it should just be accepted as common knowledge that non black citizens will be victims of crime if they live in a primarily black community?
Why is this promoted as acceptable and a status quo?
Aren't there also black residents who get tired of constant crime and shooting near their homes and where their kids play?
We're not talking about skid row here.
General safety and security in and around your home is not a big ask.
You speak as if we're still living in times of segregation.
My landlords are Asian and they never gave me any notice that because I'm not black that I had chosen the wrong house to live in.

Ok I'm not arguing with you regarding the facts but when you give people an outlet to congregate and imbibe a mind altering substance, even more issues are bound to arise than if the same locations were only serving waters and cokes.
      With My example-
You can't fill a bowl with sugar water and then complain that there are suddenly 100's of flies swarming in your kitchen that are being too noisy and sh¡tting everywhere while completely ignoring the main attraction that's responsible for bringing them in.
Yes, Some people can participate in drinking responsibly without exhibiting undesirable behaviors such as becoming criminals or going on crime sprees but if you're complaining about an uptick in crime in a specific area that is littered with bars, you can start with the process of elimination because those hotspots tend to become dens of lawlessness or they attract lawless behavior so we first address the locations because you cannot simply eliminate the customers from the equation.
Consumers will always be there but you don't have to enable them by providing the booze and locations that the criminal behaviors consequently stem from.

Wow, Deep Discussions. I bet majority of these people aren't born and raised in Houston on the tv interview. Outta towners. It's a movement in the area. You have all these lofts being built. An young Career minded people who have taken over the area. Due to the fact it's in the heart of town. But these issues have been here for many of years. But ignore when the area was basically own by certain people. Now your getting a New movement demands attention from the law enforcement.

I still foresee that there will be nothing done.. They keep talking about shoving money at the problem and will somehow magically solve the issue. oh, and an added "community discussion". The district head should be on the ground, in the middle of the night, and actually seeing the problems that is occuring in the late evenings. Then... she can either decide 1) we need "this type of police here" or, she can decide 2) there is no issue, "that's just our community; live with it"
