- The mother of a man accused of fatally shooting a Chicago police officer is facing criminal trespassing charges after a confrontation at the hospital where she filmed herself demanding to see her son. Her hospitalized son, Emonte Morgan, is accused of shooting Officer Ella French during a traffic stop. Emonte’s brother Eric is facing weapons charges. When she got to the floor where her son was being treated for injuries sustained in the police shootout, a confrontation with security ensued.

I'm all on board with parents being criminally prosecuted for the actions of their teenage spawn, and be held accountable for crime by their adult offspring.

Speaking as someone who has been stopped by traffic cops on a few occasions (during which I was always polite, respectful, have my license and insurance ready and the window down, before they reach my door, and keep my hands on the wheel at all times unless told to hand them something), they have a tough job to do, and there _isn't_ and _never can be,_ "another side" to shooting a cop beween the eyes during a traffic stop.

Because I'm accountable and knew exactly what I was doing that caused them to pull me over. Sometimes they'd let me go , but other times I've gotten citations and court appearances. There is no other side. The same officer they killed saved a black woman and her 1 month old baby the month before.

I'll half agree with you. Let me say this first I'm not defending the killers but there is a possibility that the mother has nothing to do with it. Not saying she's entirely free of blame, but if she was unavailable most of the time working I believe she can be excused to some extent. The problem this situation (absent parent) is that the parents have to choose paying bills or spending time with their kids.
I'm interested in seeing what the mother hopes to accomplish by visiting her son. That would be an interesting conversation/confrontation.
