Love the video -tips on re-twisting locs yourself because I maintain my own I’m almost 1 month in yes I will be maintaining my locs my self 1. Don’t re-twist to tight 2 . It’s really just maintaining the loc and sections of your hair 3 try it one time and see how your results would be 4 take your time in doing a re-twist / also use light products so you don’t get build up ( I re-twist with aloe Vera gel and oil + water 5 last tip I promise let the re-twist sit at least over night so it can set *remember to never re-twist on dry hair also tie your hair down with a satin scarf as well ✨❤️
I love the fact that you have incorporated your Moms journey, hoping to see more of her journey. I use the T. G. I. N gel but I dilute it to a liquid form with aloe Vera juice and water and put it in a spray bottle, but it works wonders " diy liquid gel" 😂
Awww thanks love!!!! I’m so happy to share her journey. Y’all will probably see more of her locs again soon 💗💗💗 and i love your DIY gel! I’ll make a video when I create a gel combination that works well for me. Super excited to keep exploring!!!
Awww, wow! Congratulations on your new journey beautiful 😊💕 you’re so brave to take on the retwist process yourself. I haven’t tried yet, but I’ll be sure to share how that goes! Do you have experience doing hair? Keep us updated!!!
I have experience doing my hair and children's hair. Especially when I was a lose natural. I have only retwisted my hair once. It was not as bad as I thought, but it did take me a while. Lol
Good morning! I’m a week in now and my locs are exactly like your mom’s. Definitely an inspiration because I wanted to restart them many times. I have 114 locs. Thank you for this video
I’m loving all your videos! I just started sharing my journey and am a little over a month now! It’s so nice to be able to relate to others and see their experiences too! I look forward to your next uploads! ❤️
I started my locs and maintain them myself, and its been a little daunting, but dope nonetheless lol I use the alikay naturals aloe berry gel to retwist and its given me pretty good hold. I retwisted 2 weeks ago and most of my hair is still twisted :).
Love it i would have been month loc I had bud's in 3weeks I started my loc over because the lady that started mine did not part them neat at all and I wanted a good foundation so I did it myself it took me 2hr to do but their neat and parted med locs 10 /9/20 so excited to see them do they thing
Thank you for this video boy you and your mom have very beautiful hair:) your moms hair texture is close to mine so I have a good idea about how small I want my locs to be once I decide to get them loc’d
Hi! I’m just curious. I noticed that she palm rolled on the entire length of your mom‘s locs but just a root of your locks is there a reason for that? I was just wondering which I should do for my first retwist. Plus does the answer differ with how your locks were started (aka two strand twist versus coils)?
Hi Alexis! I’ve been binge watching your videos and absolutely love them! I just started my loc journey, today is day 1 :) I also love how your capture your videos and I’m interested to find out what camera you use please?
I have twists for my spray bottle I have leave in conditioner, coconut, olive oil, I'm able to leave my hair in the style for about 6 weeks at a time..
Okay I started my locs in May, I was retwisting my hair every 6 weeks. I didn't retwist in Sept. Now im nervous that my hair will begin to free form if I don't retwist them this month.
I just use oil and water to retwist and it lasts about a week without styling.... im almost 3 months loc-d so i havent styled my hair as yet.... also, i air dry
No, i make my own mixture that includes a little castor oil... i think thats the key ingredient to give some hold... the other oils i include are light like grapeseed or jojoba oils
😍😍😍 yay, welcome!!!! So glad!!!! Awww, I just saw your other comment and recommended you check out this video! Lol I’m so glad you’re part of this community 😊💕🥳
How many weeks before your mom's first retwist? Her hair is fine and could still see her partings. She can get away with prolonging her retwists in comparison to those with thicker hair textures. Btw both your locs are beautiful 💕
You make a great point!!! My mom and I get retwisted every 4 weeks... I’ll let her know your suggestion bc she may find it useful. Thanks so much for sending some encouragement our way 😊💕

Just booked my appointment with Gloria!
Awww yay!!! Tell her I said hiiii and Let me know how it goes 💖 are you starting your loc journey or getting a retwist??
I will. I told her I was referred by Alexis Harris. I started my journey at 7.23.20. So just a retwist, but if all goes well I will stick with her.

Thank you 🙏🏾💗 so glad you enjoyed it
When retesting two strand twist do I unravel the twist or just let them lock ?
Let them loc
I'm new here from MS
Beautiful ❤❤❤
How many locs do each of you have?
Okay I started my locs in May, I was retwisting my hair every 6 weeks. I didn't retwist in Sept. Now im nervous that my hair will begin to free form if I don't retwist them this month.
Hey love! Missing one retwist won’t cause your hair to freeform but if you’re not freeforming, some kind of regular maintenance is important 💗
I just use oil and water to retwist and it lasts about a week without styling.... im almost 3 months loc-d so i havent styled my hair as yet.... also, i air dry
Love it!!! We’re around the same time on our journey 💗 do you use Jamaican Black Castor oil?
No, i make my own mixture that includes a little castor oil... i think thats the key ingredient to give some hold... the other oils i include are light like grapeseed or jojoba oils
Ahhhh I see!!!! Love it. Thanks for the info beautiful
No problem!!
Thanks so much
New Subbie! 💚

😍...did she palm roll the entire loc for your first retwist?
Hey love! Not sure but I’ll ask 😍😊
@@AlexisHarris oh ok thanks
She said she only palm rolled the new growth 💗💗💗
@@AlexisHarris oh I see ,thanks so much for responding❣️😁
No problem love!!! Thanks so much for watching 💗💗💗😊🥳
So Gloria is in Atlanta?
Yup, she is 💖
@@AlexisHarris can I have her info please

Can you interlock 2 strand twist?
Great question! I believe the answer is yes 😊💕
How in the world y’all parts stay neat after washing 🤔
I just had my first retwist and my hair have unraveled already. 😢😢😢😢
Awww!!! It’s okay, I promise 🙏🏾💕 it comes with the territory. Just retwist what you can when it unravels!
Why not clip her locs all the way down? To help her ends lock
Good question, Arianna! Not sure what the answer is though lol
Hi Alexis you're bidding.
😍😍😍 hello beautiful!!! Thanks so much!!! I’m excited 😆
I mean budding
So excited!!!!!
