So I started my locs!! Unfortunately I lost the footage of my mom and I putting them in :( we did the two strand twist method. For the starter locs I used Burt's Beeswax Loc Gel! I love love LOVE LaTasha! She is hands down one of the best stylists I have encountered. I left her information below definitely check her out if you live in the South Carolina area. I was not expecting my hair to be this slick and clean LOL. She really did her thing man. I hope y'all enjoy the video and give me any tips in the comment section! My 1st retwist after a month will be Saturday. I can’t wait. I have been wearing headbands and moisturizing. That’s it. I can tell I have had about a half an inch of growth so far

Love your content. Just a word of advice if you plan to keep your locks for a long time you may want to make your parts larger or don’t retwist tightly. They are bound to become thinner. Especially with palm rolling. Love and light sis. ❤️

Looks great. I did notice she retwisted in the opposite direction the actual twist was going which did cause a little unraveling but overall nice job !
Yes that was my fault! I started my locs as a very naive newbee. I should have twisted them all in the way of how they would be retwisted. So she did good, it was just my lack of knowledge!

it looks like the stylist may have twisted the opposite way of however you originally twisted it. like the twists were unraveling a bit at the root. did that cause any problems?

I used loreal hicolor! I do different colors each time cause the hair store never has exactly what i used but i name the colors in the video. Its a mix of copper and blonde tones!

Im so late I’m sorry😭 i crocheted them once so far and its almost been 2 yrs! My hair takes a while to loc so after they loc’d all the way i did my roots that grew out

No i do very low manipulation! Even now. I only wet them when i need to style it
My hair still isn’t completely loc’d yet. But i started budding around month 3! My ends are still slight twists but my roots are loc’d

So when doing starters and doing the two strand method, when you get a retwist does it make your locs thicker?
I think it did over time, but since its grown out so much now its still kinda thin

I believe i used loreal hicolor copper red, ginger blonde and honey blonde! The hair store doesnt alwaya have exactly the same colors i need so i switch it up each time but always a ginger/copper/blonde mix
