I'm impressed. My first retwist looked like I did it blindfolded. It looks really good. And your hair really has progressed beautifully over the past year.
You have the sweetest personality I love it here lol I'm 5 months loc'd & your videos remind me that my hair will constantly change and flourish if I take care if it, so thank you!
Heyyy Kianna!!!! Aww thank you so much 😍🥳 I am so happy you’re part of this community!!! Y’all are really the only reason I like to come online lol 💖 CONGRATULATIONS ON 5 months locd!!!! That’s amazing 🥳
I haven't had anyone retwist my hair yet . Been doing it myself and differently feel the back is the hardest. I swear I need the music from your video and your voice it would make the process better. Your retwist came out nice .💖💖💖
Hey Alexis! There's no way we can skip to a certain section girl, we enjoy all content you bring us. You did really good for a first timer. I've retwisted my own hair from day one, matter of fact... I've never allowed anyone to touch my crown since I started my journey. Your hair is getting longer and thicker everytime I see you 😍😍. We love Alexis and the fact that you take the time to read our comments and reply. Always looking forward to an update, Kauna with ❤️.

Hey there! Thanks so much for being here and leaving some encouragement!!! I’m glad you found this video helpful. Let me know if you give this a try! Welcome to the community 💖
I use to use eco when i first started my locs and it caused sooooo much build up and made my locs really stiff months down the line. After the acv rinse I stop using eco and only used oil and aleo vera gel months later my locs are bouncy and no build up. Just a heads up on the eco. Love your new color
Hey beautiful!!! Thanks so much for the heads up. I’m always paranoid about build up no matter what products I use, so I use the bare minimum lol i’m definitely going to give aloe vera gel a try though because I’ve heard so many great things about it! Eco is really heavy. Thanks for being here and leaving some love 💖💖💖😘
Look how lovely and thick your hair is! Wow! Gorgeous! I second the warning about ecostyler gel and buildup. Aloe or oil and water should work fine. You did a great job! 💖
I'm from South Africa. So I used to go to the salon for my retwist, but after the 1st anniversary I do my own retwist. I normally visit the salon every after 2 months, but I retwist my own locs every month. I love the neat look and my hair gets too untidy if not retwisted. I love your channel.
I’m so happy to hear that you are tuning in from South Africa. I have never been but I hope to come one day soon!! Thanks for sharing your strategy with me and the community. It means so much to have you in this family! 💖💖💖
I use aloe vera gel and that same oil. For me it's a lot gentler on my hair and washes out easier with no build up. You may want to give that a try. Thnx for the nice informative video beauty 😍
@@AlexisHarris I have been using rosewater and a natural oil mix and it seems to be working for me my locks are flourishing I’m just excited about what it’s gonna look like after I get my re-twist
Hello I'm Debbie Carpenter, I've enjoyed watching your locs story. And I'm really enjoying watching you retwist your hair. I've been in my loc journey now for 10 months now but I go too a loctrician.
Your roots look so full and healthy and your hands move skillfully to achieve what I think is a perfect retwist. Your hair has grown quite a lot too. Lovely!! I actually do interlocking instead of retwisting and that's a whole other process Sis!!! I really enjoyed watching!
Awww!!! Thank you so much for sending so much love my way. I appreciate it more than you know!!!!! I’m happy to hear that you interlock because I’m not too familiar with that but it seems so interesting. Talk to you again very soon 😍😍😘
Idk how you went a yr without retwist! I went like max 3 months & nearly all of them severely matted together now im in the process of detaching em 😩 anyways love the outcome 🔥
You go girl. Your locs are simply beautiful. Love the color. You did a great job on your first retwist. A little advise when applying the clips you can place then a little bit farther down from the root. You get faster the more retwisting you do. Have a great weekend. Agape.
Awww, thank you so much!!! I’m so happy you’re here because you always leave so much love and make my day. I love the advice you gave! I figured that out about halfway through the re-twist and told the community the same exact thing lol! Have the most amazing week and I’ll see you again very soon!!! 💕
You did really good. And two hours isn’t bad, I’ve seen some people take double that. I personally interlock my hair. My locs are small enough that the loc to part ratio with interlocking will have my locs be consistent in size
Hey honey!!!! Always great to hear from you, thanks for the love. I have never tried to interlock but I would be interested in seeing that process for sure. Sending you lots of love! See you again real soon 😍
Love the color. I can't do eco. Causes buildup on me. I also prefer washing one day and retwisting on another day like you did here. I have been retwisting my own hair since I was 1.5 year loc'd. I am 4 years loc'd.
Hey lovely!!! Thanks for being here 😍 I’ve heard that from so many people about eco so I used the bare minimum lol def gonna invest in some aloe Vera gel! What gel do you use? Or do you only use oil?
New to the channel, hello 😁😁. I'm now 6 months locd and I only retwisted my hair once by myself. Debating on retwisting tonight I found your video. I have several different textures in my head so most of my front locs unravel a little however I try to train them to stay closed. I know I need to work on the hydration. Hi, I'll be 2 months ( finally) this weekend, and I've been retwisting myself so far. I use rosewater/ oils and supergro hair gel. That helps hold for about 2 weeks without wetting it or anything.
Hello Alexis! I just started my loc journey today and came across your channel. I've watched several of your videos. I started my locs with two atrand twists and I'm excited about the journey. Your locs are absolutely beautiful (love the color) and you did a fantastic job with the retwist. New subbie! Take care and TFS! ❤
You did an awesome job! I’ve been using lock it up by Taliah Waajid and that’s been going well no build up. I use to use aloe vera gel and I loved it but it didn’t give me much hold. I still don’t use too much of the lock it up. Less is always more. Something I’m happy i didn’t learn the hard way! 😂
Hey beautiful! Thank you so much for being here and sharing your process. I’m so happy you brought up build up because I’m so paranoid about it and I’m not trying to learn the hard way either 😂🤣 I use the bare minimum of any product!!! Sending you lots of love 💖💖💖
omgosh i wish i can do the palm roll it look easy but i dont think i can do i never done my retwist before i wanna learn so bad it been one year yesterday i been loc well not all mines or locs lol
Quick question: I've been natural (without relaxer/perm) for two years--next month, with the exception of color (gotta hide that gray). Is it necessary to cut my hair should I decide to loc my hair?
I don’t think it’s necessary to cut, but definitely a nice trim if you need it especially. You’d be starting your locs with healthy ends that will progress into healthy locs. Especially if you are starting with combing/palm roll, it will be smoother as it will jot pull on hair strands. Good luck
I would love to see some nail content as well. My nails are really nice but they break easily sometimes I don’t even what breaks them but it happens. How to stop them from breaking?
Hey beautiful! Thanks so much for letting me know you want to see some nail content. I’ll definitely add it to my upcoming videos. I used to have a problem with my nails breaking as well and the trick for me was to file underneath them. When I started to file the edges down, it stopped the edges from snagging on things and breaking. I hope that makes sense but if not I will explain it in one of my first nail videos. Thanks for being here love!!!!
Soooo... i have been using shine and jam for my locs, i started them two strand twist, on my own... never had a professional retwist or anything. Is it a good loc gel? This is my first set of locs as well
I tried that oil because a lot of youtubers recommended it and GIRL! I’m in love lol And I felt you on the nails, I got the longest set I’ve ever had and it’s so annoying lol I’ve always retwisted my hair, I only let one person do it because I wanted someone else to dye my hair and style it for once and she did it counter. Like was I supposed to tell her I twist my hair clockwise? 🥲 had to wash it less than a week after cus I was paranoid lol. The first time I retwisted it took 2 hours, but I cut it down to like 1 hour and 15 mins (75 locs)
Lol!!! Hey boo, that oil is EVERYTHING!!! Long nails look so good to me but I agree they’re super annoying sometimes 😂 I refuse to cut them too low though Lol I would’ve been soooo paranoid about that too! The thing is, I don’t even know if it really makes that much of a difference but I’ve always been told to go clockwise so I’m sticking with it 😂🤣 Hopefully I can get my twisting time down like you… Will keep you posted!!! Sending you lots of love as always. 😍🥳

No, you should be able to instant loc if all else fails and not have to cut your hair.
Great question! Our friend here in the community answered it beautifully 💖💖💖
I don’t think it’s necessary to cut, but definitely a nice trim if you need it especially. You’d be starting your locs with healthy ends that will progress into healthy locs. Especially if you are starting with combing/palm roll, it will be smoother as it will jot pull on hair strands. Good luck
Ur hair is beautiful I tryed coloring my locs last week I’m 1 year locd . I used a box semi permanent and guess Wht it didn’t dye Wht did I do wrong?
Awww!!!! Thanks for the love beautiful!!! I wish I could be more helpful but I’m not an expert. I’d definitely recommend going to a loctician 😍😍😍
Nice job, beautiful locs!
Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for consistent great content!
Hey beautiful! Thank you so much for being here 💖💖💖
Looks good sis!
Thanks beautiful!!! 💖
Fascinating enough, we don't have these type clips in South Africa. I had to order these from the US. Which is very strange.
Thanks so much for tuning in!!!! The clips you use don’t have to be identical to the ones in this video 😊💕
Yessss okk I love you and your locs video
You did a super nice job
Nice . how many locs do you have ?
Thanks! I have 81 locs 💖
U did a great job 💪🏿🥰
I would love to see some nail content as well. My nails are really nice but they break easily sometimes I don’t even what breaks them but it happens. How to stop them from breaking?
Hey beautiful! Thanks so much for letting me know you want to see some nail content. I’ll definitely add it to my upcoming videos. I used to have a problem with my nails breaking as well and the trick for me was to file underneath them. When I started to file the edges down, it stopped the edges from snagging on things and breaking. I hope that makes sense but if not I will explain it in one of my first nail videos. Thanks for being here love!!!!
Makes a lot of sense ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for the reply.
Soooo... i have been using shine and jam for my locs, i started them two strand twist, on my own... never had a professional retwist or anything. Is it a good loc gel? This is my first set of locs as well
Great job!!!
Thank you so much beautiful!!!
Yes girl you did that, go ahead and invest in that hooded dryer and save yourself some coins 😂

I love your hold video 📹 okkk thank you
When retwisting your hair and come across one is missing, how do you reattach it
Crochet hook 😁
It may take me two or three weeks to grow my locs back if I didn't have to cut my hair super short
All good! You got this ✊🏾👊🏾💖
I would like to know how to grow my nails

Oil doesn't moisturize your hair 😉💚
dryyyyyy
The hardest part!!!!
too fast...slow it down
I tried that oil because a lot of youtubers recommended it and GIRL! I’m in love lol
And I felt you on the nails, I got the longest set I’ve ever had and it’s so annoying lol
I’ve always retwisted my hair, I only let one person do it because I wanted someone else to dye my hair and style it for once and she did it counter.
Long nails look so good to me but I agree they’re super annoying sometimes 😂 I refuse to cut them too low though
Lol I would’ve been soooo paranoid about that too! The thing is, I don’t even know if it really makes that much of a difference but I’ve always been told to go clockwise so I’m sticking with it 😂🤣
Hopefully I can get my twisting time down like you… Will keep you posted!!! Sending you lots of love as always. 😍🥳
@@AlexisHarris Thank you! hope youre doing well.
You’re using eco styler gel for your retwist ?! 🫣
not the eco styler...
