@Keldor Miro I think it was perfect the way it was. The shortness of the fight was not because of the lack of meaning, rather the opposite. Obi Wan won that duel before it even started because he learned from his past mistakes, Maul didn't. It was a swift and decisive victory for Obi Wan, that's why it was so short.
It very much seemed like the wires the other parts were placed on had integrated into his nervous system, making those legs more techno-organic than mechanical
I loved how the characters who did nothing in the movies were brought back and turned into the best characters ever. Boba Fett fell in the Sarlacc Pit and when he got out, he became an ally to Mando and Bo-Katan. Darth Maul was sliced in half, and when Savage found him, he turned into a monster and one of the best characters in the Clone Wars.

This is the symbiotic relationship that used to make Star Wars great. George would draw interesting character concepts but not develop them...leaving them flat. doggo OwO He got his revenge and it was great for 5 minutes.
The OwO Depot he got his revenge when he killed Dutches Satine
Well the clone wars is coming back so we might be able to see what happened
Uhhh no dude
Maul's death was actually quite sad imo.
Only in the end did Kenobi respect him fully
Yeah, as he died, when he said "Tell me, is he the chosen one? He will avenge us." He understood that he was wrong all his life from being a pawn of Sidious and hope Luke would destroy the dark side.
CommanderCodyHD in hope *Anakin* would destroy the Dark Side. Maul is referencing Anakin. Anakin is the chosen one, the balance. He destroys the Jedi and eventually destroys the Sith. Luke is the the catalyst that helped him realize what Palpatine really is before throwing him off the ledge and dying shortly after.
It's really bad when a guy's death is probably the least depressing part of his life.
@@sleepwellmychild Vader knew well what Palpatine was. He was just past the point of caring any more. But Luke's distress gave him the strength to break free from the Dark Side's control.
@@WilfredIvanhoe i agree. Vader knew. But he was so far into his grief, shame, and rage it was almost like he was a battered wife.
Thinking "my life is hell. Will always be hell. I have nobody, i burned bridges, etc"

I love this. Maul’s first clear thought in almost 15 years perfectly sums up his character:
“Revenge. I must have revenge.”
Literally at that moment he finally became sane
Its so wholesome to see Maul's Brother worrying about his Brother
And Maul comes to genuinely love and care for Savage. Of course, this only serves to offer him a weakness Sidious easily exploits.
@@rosesweetcharlotte a shame, Savage could've really been a formidable Sith if he had more time to train and flesh out his abilities
@@STEELGMBL
Even just mindlessly swinging a lightsabre, he still puts up a surprising fight.
weird that she uses magic to give him legs and they end up being robot legs, organic legs would have made more sense. Robot makes more sense if they were built for him by a engineer
It's not like she can regrow them. Talzin doesn't have that kind of power.
I think it looks much more visually appealing to have cybernetic legs. Maybe organic ones made of other people's corpses would have made sense with the Dathomir magic and its resurrective properties - but I think the viewer needs to be reminded every chance they can get that Maul got sliced in the fuck in half.
It would make sense but even magic has rules, and goes by the laws of conservation of matter. She would need a "donor" and there wasn't one on hand.
Magic and technology don't have to be mutually exclusive
They tend to show that Jedi use the force when constructing their lightsaber, despite it not making sense to me of why someone couldn't just use schematics and their own hands. I think it something similar with the legs...
His mind may have broken but keeping himself alive through sheer force of will and hate. Worthy of respect.
I love mauls first appearance on the clone wars. Its so creepy and disturbing and the voice acting is incredible! Sam witwer is such a brilliant voice for maul!
You gotta admit. His return was SO well done. Incredible story telling
I mean, his character is well done. He got cut in half and thrown down a bottomless pit
It is literally the second most ridiculous return, behind of course good old Sheev
@adamlauer1096 I disagree, his hatred and fuel he got from the darkside made it believable, especially since lightsabers automatically cauterize wounds
@carnage3208 okay, but then he still fell for a very long and unknown time, he could've been as angry as he wanted. Still goes splat

Looking at what Mother Talzin accomplished with healing Maul's mind, she could have done so much good. Her magic has the ability to do that, imagine what other great things she could have achieved.
That kind of magic, Sith Alchemy, as far as we know is only achievable with the Dark Side.

There's something simultaneously adorable and sad about Maul chasing after the little ball of green light with a childish smile on his face. Like, "ooh, pretty! I want it!"
Darth maul probably has the best character arcs in all of science fiction and fantasy in general

I'm glad they re-introduced him in Rebels as he was in Clone Wars. Probably one of my favourite character epilogues in Star Wars, ever.
And this is how Ben not only conquered but became a master of the high ground.
