how do you do if I have installed windows 10 first?
Between 1:38 and 2:27, we didn't have to do what you did because we used the Windows 10 virtual machine. Instead of us creating a new iso file, the teacher had an iso file for us to use in a folder in the real world so we just copied that iso file and pasted it in our external hard drive (although for me it was my documents folder because I don't have an external hard drive) and then we just got the iso file from wherever we saved it to we didn't have to mount it because the teacher didn't want us to.
Well done! But it does not cover the option of using two separate drives.
Great job ! I didn't know about that select domain trick. Question: If I create a video file in W7 can I access that same video file in W10 ? Does W7 & W10 see same RAID I created in W10 ?

Thank you! Is there a similar way to partition Win 10 to create a Win 7 partition on it? Then, is there a way to install a Win 7 program from a DVD on to that Win 7 partition? Then, boot from win 10 or win 7?

Thank you for mentioning that the computer restarts multiple times before completing the installation. I would have otherwise removed the Win10 installation CD prematurely. I do have a question though. I successfully started the computer in Win7 as well as Win10. But today I get to the Win7 / Win10 menu, choose, then nothing. The computer has the power icon lit but the screen remains black. I couldn't get it to respond so did a hard power off and tried again with the same results - nothing. Do you know what may be going on? What to check?

yes the process is the same make sure within Windows 10 you are booting into advanced settings.

in my case while it restarts to complete the installation it doesn't shows option to choose between the both OS and boots from windows 7 ...so the installation can't be completed..any solution

This is not very secure.
In a dual boot set up, OS can easily affect the whole system if something goes wrong. This is especially true if you dual boot same type of OS as they can access each other's data, such as Windows 7 and Windows 10. ... So don't dual boot just to try out a new OS.

I think it's false
I know this methode, but I have two 256GB SSD in PC, one with win7 and the second with Wind10. Win7 was the originally on PC the win10 is the new. Unfortunetly the Wn7 always destroy somehow the win10. Win10 is not destoyed instantly but olso after a little use. (after a few starts). I always will use bios bootmenu for SSD select.
What's the purpose of dual booting win 10 and 7 ? What advantages and disadvantages are there ? Why not linux + win 10 ?

Doesn't work. When I install Win7 on a separate drive, it overwrites Win10's loader and then I can't boot into Win10, nor can I repair it with the install media. I have to reinstall Win10, which in turn makes Win7 unbootable. Is that just the way UEFI boards are? They store the boot info on in the BIOS itself and not the SSDs anymore?
@Odolwa try this:
1. only plug in ONE SSD/HDD to install win7
2. after you are done with installing/setting up win 7, switch off, unplug that ssd/hdd
3. plug only one ssd/hdd to install win10
4. after finishing install/set up, switch off
(so now all their respective boot records are storage in their own drive, wont overwrite the record in C:)
5. plug in BOTH drives, go into BIOS and set which ever u want to be the primary boot drive
6. should work when hitting F8 during POST to let u select one of the windows to start
I installed a new hard drive, but I never got the option to dual boot. It never gives me the screen to select the windows 7 OS. Also, the "system reserved" drive from that original install shows up as a D drive!
How do I set this up using multiple physical drives?

this method won't work, i've tried this several times but it won't work, you need to go MBR legacy mode, to able to install both windows.
@@mitchicaraineramos6677 official windows 7 doesn't support UEFI, as that was launched along side Windows 8.
But there's a modified Windows 7, which has added support for UEFI and GPT partitioning.

@@Tgtg14486 don't install Windows 7. It's too outdated. Just stick with Windows 10 as it's way more optimised.

No I tried this but then the setup deleted win 10 but dont worry save your files in local disk C it will save your files in this drive

Setting up windows 7 as default os in system configuration app, is much faster for switching between different operating systems. if we set windows 10 as default, then on choosing win 7 at startup menu requires a system restart.
I had problems with windows activation by installing them on GPT partation with UEFI, but worked fine with MBR style partation on Legacy BIOS mode.

My original and activated W7 has been deactivated after installation of w10 in other partition. Now Microsoft reject a re-activation of W7 with the original licence.The dual boot works, but...
Thanks for the video. I installed windows 10 with windows 7 on dual boot drive. I lost internet connection on the windows 10 side, but it works on windows 7 side. The only option it gives me after running diagnostics is to turn on wifi button on computer, which is already on. Any suggestions?
Weirdly enough, same here. I get internet on Windows 10 as opposed to 7 and the only way I fixed it was to connect Ethernet to my other computer and you can also use your router.

I did not install the 2 OS into dual boot mode, but installed them separately in 2 HDD and SSD, but no way I could boot up the Win7 even if I chose to boot up the OS in the selected HDD, I set it up in the BIOS CMOS to boot up the Win7, so I assumed the new hardware system always choose to boot up Windows 10 in the SSD for no matters which HDD I had chose to boot up the OS with !

I have 2 hd and 2 system win 7 and win 10. But after booting with W10, restart, and entering win 7, Hundreds of files from the Win7 hard disk were said to be damaged and needed to be fixed, which took up to 2 hours more due to the large number of files. I guess the file system of win10 with win 7 is totally incompatible...Now i only use win 7 and removing m.2 drive win10. (ASROCK Z170, I3 skylake)
If I do this, will all my files on my windows 7 go away ??

Hi I can't buy trought online but I have downloaded aN ISO File of Windows 7 didn't know what to do with it I extracted it and run a app formate then a Square appeared with Windows 7 Logo and 2 options one called check compatibility other is Install now the process of installing goes okay until it says it will need to reboot to probably complete that option and when it does a black screen with 2 options I guess its Boot windows 10 and other idk it checks for if theres any oter bootable setups

I wonder why no one does a video tutorial on Dual Boot with separate hard drives, instead of partitioned. I know it can be done, I had two Hard drives last year but then I hit my head too many times and forgot what I did to make it work, tried BOOTice program but no work, or maybe I missed a step, if anyone knows let me know. (Windows 10 on one hard drive & Windows 7 on another hard drive) When it's setup to work it is the best, let me bang my head again see if I remember :(
if you wanna boot from disks then you need to change boot sequence in the bios because theyre a seperate storage device unlike partitons so yeah

Don’t do that. Use the second hard drive for your files and clear out enough space on your C: drive to install Windows 10 like this video. I already tried. It will allow you to boot into 10 but will crash every time when you try to boot i to 7. Just a heads up!
