Welcome to Chiang mai and Thailand Bro!! 😉 I have been the fan of your channel for 2 years. Hope you enjoy this trip. Waiting to watch next ep in Chiang Mai.👍👍
Incredible!! I'm literally in planning mode for my cycling trip to Chiang Mai in November. I've been researching hotels in Old City. The place you're staying in looks great! I'm going to look into that too. Are you going to do the 55 group ride on Saturday?
there are many accomodation to choose in all Thailand province, in Chiangmai not necessary to stay in the old city because of the busy traffic especially in the evening. You.may try the University area or alittle out of the central city near the chiangmai Central shopping mall. That area has many small clean resort ranging 600~800 baht to choose. The Chiangmai university area has more to offer during day or night especially in the evening more interesting rather than the old city weekendnight market. Also there is a hidden gem thai resturaunt at the hill top outside the university, only the locals know where is it which you not found in mainstream recommendation not even google. You may found in google hill top reservoir garden resturaunt but not the other resturaunt in the hidden mountain road. I had stay in northern Thailand 5~6months every year, most of Singaporean very rarely travel to the most northern town nor even the central part province or north east town. Bangkok is not the center part in Thailand, it just a busy capital city. Try travel Phetchabun province and go to Phu Thap Buek and Khao Kho district many will surprise. For cyclist try cycling in the northern province the road is fantasic for bicycle. I rode my road bike in Thailand for hoilday traveling trips and Chiangrai has the best riding experience and also the central part and the east along the mekong river.
I use strava as well for the routes, but wahoo has the added function of behaving a bit like Google maps when I suddenly decide “ok I want to go to this cafe now”, I just type in the shop name and it routes me there. Whereas for Garmin I’d have to actually create a course
@@thewinstyreason for me asking is im getting this bike here tomorrow(hi mod), so been binging your channel :D but what i want to do is the same as you. im thai but live in denmark, so i need a bike i can take with me around the world, been on the TCR for that until now, and it was a good traveler also. Thank you! let me know if you want to come ride in North Europe for tips and stuff :)
@@thewinsty yeah, I am envious 😁 I need 15-17 hours alltogether. Try Da Nang, Vietnam for cycling as well! Also only 3 hours from Singapore. I was there last month. Great there.
@@thewinsty yep, im google it in imigration they checking if ppl bring bath miney or not. im planing to go chiang mai but then im thinking again abut this checking bring money
Chiang Mai is very high in traffic and pollution, a mask maybe required if you dont feel like breathing gases that will impact your neurons and sleep. I have been here for one month now, the only place to bike is in the mountains, the rest is traffic, lots of lights, waiting time, bad roads when compared to Spain, not ideal

Naise. Prolly the next one you could try the Nan to Bo Kluea Loop - quiet town with minimal if not, no traffic
Can plan for the Mae Hong Son loop ride , it's an epic ride to Northern Thailand and back to ChiangMai
Did it on a motorbike 😂 no way could I peddle in that heat! 😅

Amazing place for cyclists. I was there for Inthanon Kom. You should try next year

I’m afraid the ship has sailed for that; this video was filmed in Feb!

Welcome to Thaialnd ^^
PNS is very popular in Chiang Mai. a very big group there
Ah big PNS group
Looks to be great trip already; what do you use to plan your route for wahoo, Komoot or RidewithGPS?

You guys made doi suthep look like a piece of cake
ya man gotta dump that tuk tuk and get on the grab for sure!
I'm retired. Retired in Chiang Mai because of the cycling.
Love your vids 👍🤝
You never sold your Lab71? Heard the group riding Chiang mai is really good!
Bike market is pretty slow post-covid 😢
But I’m happy to keep riding it anyway! Still my best option for traveling

welcome to CNX
Appreciate it
Did you detach your rear derailleur when using your scicon bag?
Only the first time I ever used it. After that I’ve honestly gotten quite complacent using the bike bag, merely removing the wheels and that’s it.
Nice hard case, may i know what's the price and where to get it?
It is called BikeBoxAlan, can buy online direct from UK
Little bit more cycling would be good.
Chiang Mai is that unique cycling paradise in the world. In January 2025 my 4th time there.
It’s great for us Singaporeans who live 3 hours away!

Really want to go to thailand but as a 33yr old US citizen I cant get any long term visas except the 150k$ elite visa....
150k. I think you might have this wrong
$17000 for 5 year
@@scott1572 it is depending on exchange rate 140-150k usd for the 20yr elite now, it used t one approx 28k usd
Next stop Da Nang, Vietnam?
Maybe after a few more times of CNX 😬
how much airline charge for bike luggage?
Same price as normal baggage, for most airlines
Looks like its hot there
Pro, can I follow you on Strava?
Are you been affected by the pollution ? Was in the news today.
We were there 15-19 Feb 2024
Risking your fortune bike like that in thailand maybe is not worth it
