Another excellent video!! Lee is definitely an icon in Bodybuilding, from several standpoints. The moniker, Blond Myth, certainly suited his incredible physique. His cutting, crude and sarcastic sense of humour is next level. Thankfully, he gets to showcase this via several RUclips podcasts. I look forward to your next vid! Keep ‘em coming!! 👍👌💪👊🤩
Hey CW thanks for the comment! I think Lee missed his calling with either the comedian role or acting gig. His charismatic X Factor goes hand in hand with his timeless X-Frame physique.
Oh wow that's very nice of you to say. I hope I'm improving as I aim to get better with every vid I do. Still very much in the learning stages but love the kind words of support.
Great video. I've certainly developed a newfound appreciation for Lee Priest and had no idea he'd gone through such hardship in his bodybuilding career. I also feel sorry for any competitor like Lee who clearly have a talent and gift for an endeavour that doesn't generate any real money. It's a crime how majority of these bodybuilders were treated and it seems to me that the Weider brothers were nothing but highly exploitative.
Great points made there and. thanks for the support ❤️ Your comment reminded me of a famous Napoleon quote which paraphrased said that it's amazing that man can be led and will fight and die for coloured ribbons and baubles. Bodybuilders often have/had that same mindset - they'd sacrifice everything for a worthless plastic trophy or a shitty contract just to be validated for their muscle. Sad that many bodybuilders of old did just that and died penniless for other men's profit.
Lee stood up to that very same system to his deteriment but to the betterment of his contemporaries. Someone who comes in 15th in competition has worked just has hard and are just as dedicated as those in the top 3 but end up losing money as a result of competing against sponsored athletes those sponsors are paying for the show. They at least should recoup the money for competing and then prize money on top is a bonus.
Lee did make big money when he was in the states from sponsors. Well not big compared to pro athletes in other sports, but he was rocking multiple cool cars in his blonde myth and BFTO videos. But once he got banned it dried up and I think that's why he came back to Oz. It's interesting about Lee because he's one of those rare kids that started REALLY young when most people of the day warned kids away from weight training (especially in Australia). I have this theory that whatever you do when you're younger, gets enhanced and magnified, epigenitically as you said. Young swimmers develop great shoulders and peace - rowers get the big backs.
