Shawn, this is EPIC. The Ronnie fish story... my face hurts from laughing. Bloody EPIC Beautiful Mate! Never saw Gregg Chiming in. A real checkmate move. Well. Done.
Thanks Knighton - yes I had never heard the Ronnie story before either, so that one definitely had me laughing as it was an unexpected entry to the list. I for sure thought he was gonna say Lee Priest 🤣
Some people are just plain funny. Greg is a complete crackup. I don't care what he is talking about. To sit at a table with him a few hours having dinner, I would just sit and listen and laugh a lot.
The full interview was actually so funny because Greg's a whirlwind and so the script just goes out the window. I didn't even have time to introduce him before he's just going at it full tilt - kinda like Jamie in a way with great knowledge of the history and the entertaining delivery style
The rambling freak.. Can't wait to see the full interview. Love Gregg, he's a survivor and way more intelligent than many people give him credit for. A great bodybuilder too before all the excess 💪
Intelligent, charismatic and has a rare tonne of integrity. Not afraid to call out his fellow bozos at RX when it's deserved and not afraid to call it like he sees it. We don't have too many guys like this left. Funny how back in the 00's he was named "the most hated man in Bodybuilding"
He was greed in my original video - much more befitting. In Pumping Iron he looked like a lost little lamb more than the green with envy supervillain he eventually became. That flex in Arnold's face in the follow up Raw Iron doco was THE cringiest $hit I've ever witnessed
You always manage to get the most fascinating people on your channel. I can't shake the image of his arrest and those ridiculous arms. Probably the most iconic and nefarious bodybuilding footage ever. His selection of Shawn Ray as representing Greed rings true, but on the other hand he could be said to be the most enterprising bodybuilder ever. He had his fingers in every pie and created some pies such as training camps with him. His physique was Sandow worthy. I would hazard that in his business ventures he was richer than most Olympians. It may be a category worth exploring. Who are the top 5 most enterprising bodybuilders in different Eras or of all time?
I like it. Your comments are always layered with depth and I love that you're into what I'm doing here Stind. Is there anyone you'd like to see me interview? I've been asking a lot of different guests but been receiving no replies or getting read and ignored.... especially the fkn carnivore guys - they're diabolical, lol
You are a knowledgeable interviewer and always ask interesting and intelligent questions. To the extent that I walk away with food for thought. Richard Baldwin seems like an interesting guy. He had a beautifully proportioned physique in his hey day but spurred that to pursue his interest in Classics to Professor level. He was also involved in that University prank a few years ago (unless I'm mistaken), where some academics produced ridiculous papers for a Gender Studies Journal and they used him as a willing reference to expose their stupidity. I notice that he was working with Doug Brignole as well and his training philosophy. An inspirational blend of brains and brawn. A bookish bodybuilder you could say.
@@carvedouttastone no but I used to read the bonkers stuff he wrote as the rambling freak. This dude has opinions that are often so close to fact, that they blur the line between opinion and fact. Thats why hes so easy to listen to. He truly is smart as hell. Ill check out that book though, pal. No doubt.
I remember Chris Cornier hated Lee priest because Chris lost to lee in the Australian GP . Thing was Lee was in the most ripped insane condition ever and Chris couldn't handle losing to him so he made a huge complaint saying they only gave it to him cos he was Australian and that only Ronnie Coleman could ever have a chance of winning.the show. He even accused one of the judges of racism. The next year Tony Diherty kept saying how the judging was completely non bias and that they have no favourites so Ronnie Rockel won it The following year I snuck in cos i was working near by at the end of the contest at Dallas Brooks Hall and saw Chris on stage not competing but in a suit feeling all guilty about what he had said while Tony Doherty was saying how there's no hard feelings and how they still loved him Hey a few dramas are nessasry to keep things interesting. It would be great to have Gregg on regularly. He knew a lot of the guys and has plenty of stories.
Thats a great story about Chris right there! I never knew that one. I know that Chris, Flex and even Paul Dillet gave Lee a tonne of $hit when Lee first moved to America - Flex was so hostile that Lee left Golds to train at Worlds, even though he had been staying with Ed Connors. It's a bitchy game for sure - fashion models have nothing on bodybuilders from all their cattiness 😂 I wanna try get Tony on because I know he has a lot of inside stories - Gregg said he'd be willing to do it again, so I'd love to have him on.
@@carvedouttastone I didn't think that they would bully him out of the gym like that. I guess they felt threatened by lee so they tried to mess with his head maybe send him back to Australia so he wouldn't take some of that lucrative prize money. A shame these guys just can't all get along.
I'm sure cormier was stoned off his mind and didn't even remember. Guy had amazing genetics for bodybuilding but even better genetics for recreational drug taking
Man I've been trying to get Lee on the channel, but no go. I'd definitely ask him different questions to the usual $hit pitched at him in those cookie cutter interviews 😂
@carvedouttastone haha I hung out with Titus when he competed at the Aus pro shoe in 03 or 04. Nice enough guy but you could tell he had a hair trigger temper. He offered me $20 to go and buy him 7 green apples that he was going to use for his carb up. The grocery store was literally across the road lol. I got him his apples on the arm then he gave me a disposable camera and asked me to take photos for him over the weekend. Pretty good idea at the time as dig cams still mostly used single use batteries at the time, my cam was constantly going flat so I lost a lot of great photo opps!

Heard stories of Cormier pulling the race card a few times, lost a bit of respect for him but a great bodybuilder none the less!
7 deadly sins of bodybuilding?
And you ask Greg Valentino LMAO
Yes kinda ironic when you think about it lol
