Yeah that’s an awesome idea! I just decided to bite the bullet and get some moxi beach bunnies! I got mine from Derby warehouse and they have a awesome price for beach bunnies, GREAT customer service and fast shipping! It’s not far from your budget of $150! I was really skeptical for spending $170 for skates but it’s totally worth it! I really would have loved a fixer upper pair of skates!! Cuz let’s face it it’s an investment! But once you get rolling you won’t wanna stop! Hopefully you can find some lightly used or save up and get some skates soon and get ROLLING!!! 💜
I love that you talk about doing this as a "life extension" that's a huge reason I skate. I am gonna be that 90-year-old dancing on wheels in the sun!! #lifegoals
Same. I had back issues and walking is too SLOW of an exercise for me, so I consider skating low impact more so than running for my back. It actually helped my back . Keep movin and groovin'!

I LOVE that you are a storyteller - it's my fav part of your videos how passionate and emotional and tangential you are in providing info. You're easy to follow, so interesting and very articulate. I'm super impressed and find it so comforting and fun to watch these - like you're providing this safe space for me to hang out in and learn.
Your skates have changed my life! I used to skate as a kid and I remember how much fun it was...then the rink closed in my hood and it was something I got to do rarely unless I went to the ice rink...covid19 happened just as I was contemplating buying a pair of skates (after a video of you skating randomly showed up in my recommendations) and I’m so glad I was able to get a pair before the shortage. I skate almost everyday and have gotten my daughter into it and now we have a blast together. Thank you!
Waiting for my first roller skate while watching this. 💛 That's why I choose Moxi. Are you kidding me? I am almost two hours here and I love it. Quality, education, free classes for beginners.. Explanation of how she came with what it is now. I love your excitement while talking and interacting, your patience and giving take to make sure you cover all. Thank you for the videos, Estro. I learned a lot. Keep it up, please! 🥰
I really appreciate that you’ve made such a beautifully crafted, and stylish brand of skates but also that you’ve taken the time to explain EVERYTHING in videos for us who are new here and doing research on what we want/need. I’ve done hours of research now and I just placed an order for your Moxi Lolly skates and I’m soooo excited. Thank you so much for your amazing brand!!!💜
I wish Moxi would come out with a skate subscription box with different tiers! Like some offer exclusive access to early releases or restock updates, cute accessories, challenges, scavenger hunts, wheels on your birthday!
Estro-Jen is very thorough in her explanation and in her description of the what, the how and the why’s. She is quite specific and i admire the fact that she is so authentic in even her fumbling of words and or ideas ( not meant as a disrespect @ all- actually a compliment ). Thanks Jen. Keep up the good work sis!
I first watched this video in October, 2020 when I got my Lolly's. I love learning about roller skates and skating from you. I love how you are uncomfortable at first but you get into the nitty gritty details and help us learn and decide what is best for each of us based on what we want. I bought the fundaes after watching this. Quite different from the outdoor wheels, so much better for agility. I tried to go back to the outdoor wheels for the softness but I didn't have as much control because it was very clunky. Big wide wheels. Thank you 😊
I love your energy, honesty and passion for roller skating. I am 42 and just started roller skating ... I love it, I am so addicted ... in a good way lol ... It has helped make me a more confident person overall. Thank you for all your videos!
I love watching these videos even though I don’t even have roller skates this channels has helped me do research for when I get them. I’ve literally been saving since this January and I’m so excited im so close to my goal and I can’t wait to join the roller skating community officially😊😊😊
What a masterclass! this is amazing for beginners who are starting to get into roller skating and are overwhelmed by all the options (such as myself). I was really impressed by the accurate knowledge about Argentine sidewalks :O I just started roller skating last weekend and I can't even imagine trying to skate on sidewalks here in Buenos Aires. They're irregular and full of surpises such as loose tiles, rocks, holes, and dog poo :P seems too dangerous for me at the moment
don't apologize for getting slipped up. You have amazing communication skills. You're running without a script and killing it. I watched you talk about wheels for two hours.
This was so helpful for me when I first got my skates for Halloween, 2020. I started on the stock Lilly wheel, of course. But after watching this video I got a set of fundaes which are great. I love them. Then I went back to the outdoor wheels for a few days and I could not even turn anymore. I had no agility, even though they’re smooth. Then I got a pair of luminous wheels because I mostly skate at night. My preference are the Fundaes but they don’t glow in the dark or light up. Right now I’m rocking the luminous which are harder than the Outdoor wheels but softer than the Fundaes. I am having fun lighting up the night but my favorite in terms of performance are the Fundaes. I have yet to try the trick wheels. I’m a pro now at changing my wheels and I have a set of bearings in each and every set of wheels. Thank you for teaching me so many things I need to know for beginning my skate journey. Love 💕😊
I skate outside almost daily if the weather allows and I rotate my wheels twice a month. You wouldn't believe how worn the inside wheels can get! I just ordered my 2nd set of wheels...the first only lasted 4 months!
When we used to skate when we were in grade school (outside) we had the skates that we strapped onto our shoes with a skate key and a strap around our ankle with metal wheels. We never went to a rink. I still have my skate key from when i was young.
A year late but I live in PA too and I haven't found any clubs or rinks that aren't over an hour away. However, I did buy my first Moxi Beach Bunnies to see if still remember how to skate. It's been a long while but I'm excited! Thank you for all of your highly motivating videos. I wish we had more out here on the east coast.
As a former truck driver, I found it interesting about the differences in wheel contact patch. Traction or ground contact is everything. That's pretty amazing to feel the core of the wheel.
25:40 97A wheel not to hard for outside not to soft to go around the rink. 55mm more grounded and 59 mm is taller. They are both 31 mm wide. Narrow wheel more agile. You use these for dance
Hi, thanks for making this awesome video. I am a beginner and I have just bought new Moxi wheels for some vintage skates, probably from the 80’s. I intend to learn better and better and someday buy some amazing Moxi skates. There is not an indoor rink here in Berlin, Germany and I am forced to skate outdoors. Please make more videos about outdoor skating and also apparel and technical matters.Thank you and love from Berlin!
Estro ! Thank you for being so awesome. I love the time you take to explain everything in your videos. You're truly a joy to watch. I pray that God continues to bless you and your business!
I LOVE the passion, intention and love that you put into each design! I love watching you nerd out on the products! I know that when I buy Moxi I buy quality!
Coming back to skating after many many years away and this video was excellent, rambling and all. Changed my wheels for the first time while watching and this was the perfect accompaniement.
Thank you for explaining the difference between all of the different wheels. I was completely clueless. Lol. Can you make a video on how to take care of your skates? Skates are going to get dirty and it would be great to know how to properly care for them. Thanks. 😀
Wished I had seen this sooner! Completely agree with the analogy of ice to roller skating! I went from roller skating when I was 2 years old, to ice skating when I was 7 years old. Just coming back to roller skating at 45 years old, because I've moved away from nearby ice rinks... it's definitely trying my patience, because I don't remember the way wheels grab. A major frustration, when I forget my skate won't slide to the right or left on command.
Jen, you are awesome! I show your videos to my daughters all the time. Thanks for being and inspiration! One of the faces that should show up in defining "strong like a girl!" They aspire to have moxie skates! Not just because they are sick skates, because of you!
Estro has totally inspired me to learn more about roller skating. I only have the basic skill level, but my sister just bought me a new pair of skates and I am super excited to turn this into a whole hobby already!! Estro is teaching me SO many things I didn't even know before. Thank you!!
I would love a jack boot with the ivy jungle pattern 😍😍😍 I just got black jacks. Love them so much. Used to have ivy jungle. Loved them. Had to upgrade tho.
I have old Fan jets I bought back in 80's . Went back to the rink about 2 years ago with them and everyone loved them. They have only been used on a concrete rink. ( like mag wheels on cars ). That was the nite I broke my wrist. Wife doesn't want me going back. Skating is the most enjoyable and relaxing sport's apart from surfing. I just got over confident that nite. All the best wishes from Western Australia.
I suffer from anxiety and MDD and I started practicing and going more to the rink and it’s been helping me deal with my mental health I got the moxi beach bunny in yellow and it’s so cute I love it
Thankyou I’ve learnt so much ! I’m a virgin to roller skate world as an adult I did it a lot as a teenager I want that feeling back lol ..I’m in a COVID lockdown in Victoria Australia second round I decided to research roller skate companies and I have found your channel I’m totally addicted I want to buy my first pair all out of stock here till October and I can’t wait to purchase me beach bunny moxi when available. Can’t wait for ur nxt talk.. come on October!!!!!
All of the info is awesome and all of those skates hanging behind you are gorgeous. I’ve been away from skating for so long but went to a rink this past Thursday, those rentals were horrid. I’m looking for first skates and the wheels I don’t comprehend, so thank you.
Thank you EstroJen. I want to grow old with skating! For sure. I'm gonna have to try out those kushy outdoor wheels. I learned a lot! Love to see you do your thing.
QUESTIONS Estro Jen. i just got a crazy idea to skate again. its been since 1979. I have my well preserved Dominion Bright Blue suede with bright yellow stripes that were pricey in the day.( aluminum plated and heavy.) They seem to be fine but before I put them on I wonder if the wheels change hardness from age. does polyurethane get harder as rubber does get harder and brittle with age. This model is Dominion Marathon. where can I buy yellow stoppers that will work with this model. i plan to start skating indoors before I move outdoors.... what advice do you have for me about the wheels? thanks!
So thrilled to own some Fundaes! I can skate out my front door to one park that has a skate park or to another park that has a an out door smooth rink. They've made bowl skating so much easier than it was on my previous clunker wheels and are lots of fun at the rink!
Firstly: Wish you had your wheels in stock! The Gummy ones. Secondly: Wish you shipped to Australia! Thirdly: I love your vibe Estro!!!!! I really enjoy your videos!
i think a video on the different types of plates offered on customized moxi boots (lolly/jack) would be really helpful. i don't know anything about specific plate brands or types
The way to demonstrate running surface difference would be to bring the two surfaces into direct contact (or a straightedge). This would also show relative flatness/straightness between them , i.e. concave or convex. But fascinating stuff! Thanks for your great teaching!
It's also important to keep in mind that the stock wheels on the beach bunny and panther skates don't have a hub. This means that if you are a heavier skater the wheel could compress slightly, or the wheels could start to squeak slightly over time due to the wheels squishing against the bearing ever so slightly.
@@zanerobbins7604 oh shit could you elab a bit for me? I've had my Panthers about a month am a super heavy skater and had a squeaky wheel at the end of the first week. If I get new bearings will they come with a hub? Help pls lol
@@darkwebgirl the bearing doesnt have the hub, the wheel does. If you get new wheels the squeaking problem should be resolved. The hub is the hard plastic part of the wheel that the bearing sits in and if the wheel is clear you can see it inside of the wheel. On derby wheels the hub is almost totally exposed and looks like spokes. It basically gives the wheel structure so it doesnt totally compress when weight is put on it, making it perform better. Examples of wheels with hubs would be the Moxi "Classic" wheels (also known as the "juicy" and "gummy" wheels, these wheels come on the stock lolly) and the Radar Energy wheels. An example of a wheel without a hub would be the Sonar Zen Wheels. Unfortunately outdoor wheels are in incredibly high demand right now and are basically out of stock everywhere, but if you keep your eyes peeled (and i mean, like, watch the wheel listing online like a hawk) you might be able to snag some.
Love your passion!! Thank you for sharing the knowledge. I have skated on and off my whole life. Played derby etc.. it's nice to learn the " why" I like things.
Hi Estrogen!!! I am new to dropping in. Everytime i try, my skate wheels get stuck on coping. I wear size 6 in womens 37. Do you have any suggestions. Thank you. I love you and your whole team.🙏💪❤️
Ive 9ften wondered what durometer old orange rink rentals are? I had vanathane back n the day for the rink I just found out its 99a on white lightinins
I have used skate board wheels since the real rinks closed in the 90s because the only place left was skate parks and the street so bigger meatier more rugged wheels were required, which is why I would steal them from skateboards for my boot skates. Where can I get those 44mm wide wheels and is there something that is medium hardness that can absorb rough concrete ?! The thinner ones are what we guys used for speed skating back in the day b4 inlines...swapping them in an X to reduce uneven wear, brilliant tip, thanks...
interesting + incredible detail!!! you covered everything! your breakdown of wheel cores explains why after buying roll-line wheels 78A(trying to find the lightest outdoor wheels) with hugh plastic cores, I put them on ebay after 15 minutes of use, way too much rattle for concrete.
So if I'm primarily interested in rink and dance skating, but will be outside to practice sometimes, would you still do the fundae so you do dont have to change wheels all the time or do the trick wheel/a harder, more narrow wheel.
can a good outdoor wheel (78a) like the moxi gummy wheels go over the kind of sidewalk that’s paved with shell fragments without tearing? some of the bits are somewhat sharp and i don't want to mess up my outdoor wheels
This has been amazingly helpful! I'm just starting my skating addiction and trying to figure out a lot of this stuff. Thank you!! Also, I ordered my Lolly's and I cannnnnt wait to get them!!!
wheels are so interesting. i remember when I started playing derby in 2011 you couldnt get wheels harder than 100a, and then in the following years wheels at 101a, even 103a became available. very cool that this technology is developing as i type this
radar crush came out way after this video was uploaded but i just have to say how amazing they are for outdoor roller dance. 47mm 84A and 88A, i have the 84's and its transformed my skating. they almost dont feel as soft as they say they are because they are high quality and super tiny, i think thats why i love them. and that they're very square, it allows for tight spins and in place dance
ive thought about this before just keeping in mind the height of the bottom of the skate so the wheel doesn't rub against the plate. im not sure about the stability of inline wheels since the profile is way more narrow & im not sure how they would fit on the trucks since the quads core have more width?
I'm beginner and absolute new to roller skates and got my Beach Bunnies recently. Loosened up wheels and bearings, but when I got outside it was hard to even stand on sidewalk (was feeling like wheels slipping under me, although I didn't loosen them up that much, just enough to roll around. Wheels felt like inside on this flat slippery floor when I tried on skates inside, even fell backwards good thing there was armchair to safe my butt (and that was before loosening wheels). When I got back back home I tighten wheels, but I still wonder if Beach Bunny wheels gonna be good for bricked sidewalks, we barely have any sidewalks with asphalt or cemented surface, all the sidewalks and most streets are bricked (and different type bricks). My plan is to cruise around and outdoor dancing, whenever I'll learn basics. Should I change the wheels? Like to gummy ones or Fundae...
I'm deciding between park wheels and rink wheels and a lot of them are the same hardness and diameter so I'm wondering is the difference mainly the shape? the material? the width? something else? Can park skates be used in the rink? Can rink skates be used in the park? Thank you.
I hope i can find those chonky cruiser wheels here in the Philippines. Are they perfect for beginners? I'm so glad i found your channel. It's helping me so much to prepare once I get my skates. Thank you for the passion!
I’m newer to indoor rink skating . I’ll primarily be indoors for 4 months due to weather. What brand of skate and wheel hardness to you recommend ? I’ve only had rentals thus far
@36:30 must need a special plate to put phenolics on moxi boots only. Because my stock Moonlight Roller takes 38mm phenolic wheels smaller than the ones you had without any modifications.
I appreciate this video. I’m gathering research because I want to start skating. I don’t know what to purchase yet, I am a beginner. Can you or anyone tell me the best skate for beginners, skating outdoors on my street in the neighborhood. I love the shirt. Thanks.
i dont know what wheel to get, i love skating outside but i also love skating at the skatepark, im stuck between the moxi fundae and radar energy wheel. im have been skating for around 1 1/2 years, so what wheel do you think i should get? u probably wont see this though since im 2 years late-
Hey, just a friendly suggestion - the frequent recurring ads are really distracting. I'd prefer the ads to be more spread out even if they have to be a bit longer. Thanks!
I watched this whole stream and it was extremely helpful. Thank you. But one question, in regards to the trick wheels, which do you recommend for the skate park? So confusing.
For the skate park we recommend Estro’s Roller Bones Bowl Bombers, Moxi Fundaes and Moxi Trick Wheels. We have both Moxi Trick Wheels and Estro Bowl Bombers in stock at the moment but they are going fast!
@@moxiskates oh also I can’t decide on the line it brown trick wheels... i think the lime lol. A few millimeters obviously makes a fair amount of difference.. which is what’s confusing :)
Been trying to get my hands on some Fundae wheels, but they're sold out everywhere! I did find some trick wheels, so I'm excited to try those out at the skate park.
I feel bad for asking, but can we get a full post about shipping? Instagram says something else from the website and we dont know if it is that shipping time if you ordered then, or 2 weeks ago... thank you if you answer!
i feel the Chaya Karma Quads wheel has the most similar feel to the skateboard park type wheels imo. jen stated above that rollerskate wheels can be used on skateboards but doesnt recommend the vice versa that b/c the skateboard trucks & rollerskate trucks are designed differently to be used in different way though they behave similarly. even skateboard wheels vary though so its a project to be experimented with. who is to say you cant break the rules every now & then.
Roller skating lifted my depression
It always does to me, too. Its a very healthy thing to be in our bodies.
Awesome! I'm so happy you found an outlet to help you. It did the same for me
Me too!!
It's definetely lifted my happiness, but my toe stops wore down and I'm waiting for new ones so I'm feeling a little down
Sameee I literally would never get out of bed and then I bought skates :)

I love that you don’t limit yourself on time, or info! I have learned SO MUCH, thank you.🙏🏻
I have just the utmost respect for you. So much knowledge and you're so happy to teach. I take my hat off.
I love that sweater! I want buy it! Thank you for the lesson on wheels!🥰
Coming back to skating after many many years away and this video was excellent, rambling and all. Changed my wheels for the first time while watching and this was the perfect accompaniement.
Heck yeah! Happy to hear it :)
Thank you for explaining the difference between all of the different wheels. I was completely clueless. Lol.
Can you make a video on how to take care of your skates? Skates are going to get dirty and it would be great to know how to properly care for them. Thanks. 😀
Can we talk about how cool Estro is and how cool her hoodie is!
I would buy that hoodie right now if I can get it online.
Thank you, Estro! This video is SOOO helpful. The wheel nerd in me is screaming!
Hey what would you recommend for outdoor/indoor dancing and light skate park wheels?
Jen, you are awesome! I show your videos to my daughters all the time. Thanks for being and inspiration!
One of the faces that should show up in defining "strong like a girl!"
They aspire to have moxie skates!
Not just because they are sick skates, because of you!
Michelle is awesome! Thank you for the love
Thank you!! I never knew there was so much info to learn about this. I’ve experienced a slow scare indoors. You know your stuff.
You're such a great storyteller! You've made me understand wheels so much better :)
Great and useful information! Thank you so much for your expertise and your knowledge you have shared with us.
You gotta live, tell wife you’ll wear wrist guards. 🌺🦋🌲
Thanks for this great explanation on wheels! Love the Brake petals too!
The background is everything!
55:00 Public Questions what is the most gummy wheel, rough surface, 79A wheel
What is the difference between the stock wheel on the Lolly vs Beach Bunny?
Have ye any experience using bearing spacers with quads ? If so any idea if I need them with moxi gummy wheels ?
U answered a lot of my questions for this topic. Good info. Thanks ✨🌈🤙🛼✨🛼🤙🌈✨
27:53 hybrid wheel is a middle of the road softness. 9A perform faster
I like a trick wheel in the rink better than the Fundae but I wear the Fundae most all times.
I love you so much. This is really well explained. Thank you!!
can a good outdoor wheel (78a) like the moxi gummy wheels go over the kind of sidewalk that’s paved with shell fragments without tearing? some of the bits are somewhat sharp and i don't want to mess up my outdoor wheels
This has been amazingly helpful! I'm just starting my skating addiction and trying to figure out a lot of this stuff. Thank you!! Also, I ordered my Lolly's and I cannnnnt wait to get them!!!
wheels are so interesting. i remember when I started playing derby in 2011 you couldnt get wheels harder than 100a, and then in the following years wheels at 101a, even 103a became available. very cool that this technology is developing as i type this
No such thing as harder than 100A. It's marketing bullshit.
@@colincoakes3131 just because you are accurate does not mean you are interesting
radar crush came out way after this video was uploaded but i just have to say how amazing they are for outdoor roller dance. 47mm 84A and 88A, i have the 84's and its transformed my skating. they almost dont feel as soft as they say they are because they are high quality and super tiny, i think thats why i love them. and that they're very square, it allows for tight spins and in place dance
Thank you so much for providing this really useful feedback on your experience with the crush wheels! :) That is so awesome to hear!
Question: has anyone tried narrow inline type wheels on quads? Would that make outdoor skating easier (rock avoidance)?
ive thought about this before just keeping in mind the height of the bottom of the skate so the wheel doesn't rub against the plate. im not sure about the stability of inline wheels since the profile is way more narrow & im not sure how they would fit on the trucks since the quads core have more width?
Whats not to love about Michelle?she is everything
Your explanations always make perfect sense to me. Love your stories; please keep telling them. Love love love your hoodie too
I'm beginner and absolute new to roller skates and got my Beach Bunnies recently.
Send us an email to CS@moxirollerskates.com and we can give you some tips! :)
How muchbdo the bearings come into olay?? Also, How can you tell the hardness of wheels that came on the skates when I bought them??
this is everything, once again
YOUR SHIRT AND YOUR SMARTS IN SKATING MADE ME SUBB
LOVE YOUR SHIRT!
This is all great. Always wanted to understand wheels more. Thanks Estro.
Can you please tell me what are the wheels in beige/khaki colors?? Thanks
I'm deciding between park wheels and rink wheels and a lot of them are the same hardness and diameter so I'm wondering is the difference mainly the shape? the material? the width? something else? Can park skates be used in the rink? Can rink skates be used in the park? Thank you.
Same! I bought fundae and trick wheels. I’ll have to test out myself if both work fine on rink. She never said if trick wheels work well for rink 😬
Great video, I don’t roller skate (rollerblader)but I loved it,very educational.
love your vibe .. great! enthusiasm and knowledge ... thanks :)
Which moxie wheels would you use for roller skating at a rink?
I hope i can find those chonky cruiser wheels here in the Philippines. Are they perfect for beginners? I'm so glad i found your channel. It's helping me so much to prepare once I get my skates. Thank you for the passion!
Watching this from the East coast where the roads suck! lol :-)
I’m newer to indoor rink skating . I’ll primarily be indoors for 4 months due to weather. What brand of skate and wheel hardness to you recommend ? I’ve only had rentals thus far
What are the blue wheels on your skates here? And the pink one?
What are the orange wheels that roller rinks use?
@36:30 must need a special plate to put phenolics on moxi boots only. Because my stock Moonlight Roller takes 38mm phenolic wheels smaller than the ones you had without any modifications.
Hi Michelle, I love your passion. And i love your skates. But also live your hoody, where did you buy it?
Thanks!
RUclips pushes creators to let them place ads so they make the most they can. So most do that.
Nice info,, good attitude..
@@moxiskates oh wow thanks for replying I wasn’t expecting one so fast as this was streamed a year or so ago.. thanks so much!
Plantie, have you received your communication from CS? We were a couple days behind a big rush. They seem to be all caught up now.
Would you recommend using skateboard wheels on rollerskates?
i feel the Chaya Karma Quads wheel has the most similar feel to the skateboard park type wheels imo. jen stated above that rollerskate wheels can be used on skateboards but doesnt recommend the vice versa that b/c the skateboard trucks & rollerskate trucks are designed differently to be used in different way though they behave similarly. even skateboard wheels vary though so its a project to be experimented with. who is to say you cant break the rules every now & then.
