i was at this talent show, and know them personally. They practiced this for HOURS and hours, and honestly they got a few bruises out of it... but it was a great show, they put a lot of hard work in, and they won. They did a great job.
You have to remember that many of the kids at that school probably didn't even see the original, probably had their minds blown by these guys, not to say they didn't do an amazing job at it.
Something I just noticed is that not just that they did the work & dress the same, but they mouthed the words, every hand movement that was in the original they did. These high schoolers really did something great & they need to be recognized of it more than just this. I'm glad someone filmed it so we could all see this greatness. I'm also thankfully for the comparsion, though we can tell just by watching the high schoolers how hard they worked on this. To those guys, I say kudos.
Great performance by OK go! But wow, what a super great performance by these kids. Hats off to them for the time and effort they put into this performance .
Many other high schools in the U.S. have attempted to use this particular song and treadmill dance, but they can't seem to top the Granbury High group! Of course, the original is still the best, but the Granbury High group (in my opinion) should be considered the TRUE protege's to OK Go!
His blue shirt is what distracted me.. They nailed it and would have had to practice more as it is live. Good effort by the boys, must have worked so hard to get it that close.
It just occurred to me how lucky we are that someone at Granbury High had the presence of mind to get their performance on video. To whomever did that, we thank you.
I saw that too, but it is still one of the best performances.. I've seen other videos trying to remake the music video and none of them top Granbury's performance.. They practiced hard and were the only ones that came close to looking like the band and, in my opinion, did the exact moves from the music video unlike other remakes that either omitted or changed some of the moves.
When both groups do the head thing starting @ about 2:00, I get the impression they (OK Go and Granbury High) all worked this routine out together since day 1.
Those kids did just as well as the original, if not better, considering they would have had the distraction of a live audience! Really something - by far the best knock-off of the original OK GO version I've seen so far. What must have been weeks and weeks of hard work has obviously paid off, so good on them! And the attention to detail with the costumes - truly fantastic :o)
Obviously, the kids were a little off-time occasionally, but for a high school production that's about as well as anyone could do it! I mean, DAMN! That's absolutely impressive!
I like how the guy in the pink shirt did all those little things in the real video. They must have really studied the whole dance, even the simple little things
i have to say thats probably one of the best covers of the dance that is on youtube! and its pretty amazing how they we're performing it live and they didnt mangage to screw it up!
@xdevildoc69 I agree but I think the reason is that "Ok go" only had to practice till it was good enough to show. The students had to do it well one particular run through so they probably practiced more.
@254kenneth no, the other one has 6 too, its just that the angle of the cameria doesn't show the last two but if you count the number of front things (idk what theyre called) theres 6
@Blankkor thats what i thought also but theres actually 8. granbury's is taken from a slightly different angle. if you watched close enough you wouldve noticed that it would be impossible to do a couple of the moves with only 4 treadmills
I'm really impressed with the wardrobe! Ok Go wears such strange clothes in their videos it's amazing enough to find look-alikes. Of course the dancing is amazing as well.
My best idea for finding that out is to go to a gym or find a treadmill, and get something to play the music. Since a lot of it is stepping in time to the beat, see how fast it can go without speeding off if you step in time to the music. That's what I'd do, anyway.
this is awesome, i love how those kids gave there time to watch this video time and time over time time to get it close to perfect. amazing job, lil hard to get it perfect
Wow... they did a great job. They are pretty in sync with the original (except a few point where they sped up, but then they caught up). I'm impressed!
yeah i just noticed near the end when they're kicking their legs up, they got up too quickly, but i think its because they didn't want to get stepped on to, so perfection is yours!
They did really good, But the mid parts were off. I noticed that The guys in OKGO were actually going to the guitar . Like at around 1:20 it's noticeable
WOW!!! Im surpised how close they were. I knew they were close but not that close. Timing was almost perfect and the dance moves were almost the same. Great job guys.
@Bel1s my school would never have allowed this too. But in Germany (that's where I'm living) there are no talenmt contest or something like that. We only have boring lessons x__x
I really hoped they'd worked that in, everyone loves that little trip. It's like a beauty mark, a fascinating spot on a canvass of perfection. ... Um, yeah.
The high school students were a bit faster. And I never realized before but the band member in red pants trips a bit when turning at about 1:01. Great job to the students! Gotta love Ok Go.
Gransbury High School rocks! They are so in sync with the original music video! However, there's just a fast pace when the jumping sequences start but other than that, awesome remake! These guys will always be at the top! I wonder what happened to them..
It is a stunningly good copy, it goes slightly out of sync at the jumping bit but apart from that it's almost a perfect rendition. Very well done to those involved.
Wow, very nice, perfectly timed allthough some parts were just a few seconds off, but other then that you guys worked hard and deserve lots of credit. ^.^
It's kinda funny...at 1:02, if you notice the guy with the red(hot pink?) pant in the original video loses his balance but the kid in the "remake" has no problem...lol. This is awesome!
that was pretty amazing. everything was at perfect timing! and all the details were awesome! like the shirt fixing at 2:02 with the head movements. and then when the kid did the head thing at 2:50. the only part off was the part when the two guys jumped up on the handle things and saluted, they did it a little too soon. but the rest of their performance definatly made up for it.
I'd say the live performance would be harder. If you mess up then theres no CUT and TAKE 2. I say they did a really awesome job! Congratulations Granbury High!!!
OMG its nearly the same they must of practiced really hard! Apart from that one small part were they went a little faster for half a minute, it was perfect. i couldnt have done it, well done!
ok... OMFG. this is amazing. i mean i'm still so speachless and my mouth is wide open. ;o omg omg omg. now i'm jelous of those ppl who saw you live. PERFECT re-make!!!
That was so brilliant! That must've worked really hard to do it that well! They were just SLIGHTLY off from the original but I can't blame them. Good job!
That. Is. AMAZING! American high schools must be so much fun. My school would NEVER have allowed that. I especially love how they even tried to match the outfits!!! Was it a talent contest or something? I hope they won with that!
Wow. That was like almost exactly the same. They were a little off at times but basically the same. Really good. I would offer y'all a spot in the big times if y'all can sing and play the instruments too. Haha
On a technical note, excellent. But it just can't match the energy which OK Go put into it ... they make it look easy, while you can tell that GHS are focusing on getting it right more than making it look good. Not bad for a high school though.
lol, that kid in the pink shirt with the vest did everything exactly like the guy in the original vid in the pink shirt with the vest! Loved it! I hope they won!
The important thing to remember is that OK Go had as many tries as they want; the high school kids performed live and nailed it. THAT is impressive.
I think the band nailed it on the first take
@@louisegough8644 no OK Go had seventeen tries, while GBS had only one take
Supposedly the band took 17 takes
the band also did it live in front of audience later
i was at this talent show, and know them personally. They practiced this for HOURS and hours, and honestly they got a few bruises out of it... but it was a great show, they put a lot of hard work in, and they won. They did a great job.
They won? *AMAZING!*
Great for them!
You have to remember that many of the kids at that school probably didn't even see the original, probably had their minds blown by these guys, not to say they didn't do an amazing job at it.
These kids'll be at their 10 year reunion next year.
5 years ago now
@@LuaNub A billion years from now, they'll have been at their ten-year reunion a billion and five years ago.
17 year reunion now.
Nearly 20 now!
@Black_Caucus Unbelievable
The only difference is that the audience in Granbury are screaming
And also in GHS the kid doing Dan’s parts had a blue shirt instead of rather than a gray shirt
That was so awesome. Wonder if the band knows about this video
Great performance by OK go! But wow, what a super great performance by these kids. Hats off to them for the time and effort they put into this performance .
Many other high schools in the U.S. have attempted to use this particular song and treadmill dance, but they can't seem to top the Granbury High group!

His blue shirt is what distracted me.. They nailed it and would have had to practice more as it is live. Good effort by the boys, must have worked so hard to get it that close.
Actually at about a min. there is a well known error one of the band mates makes that Granbury nails :p
I didn't realize until this video the clothes were similar.
I remember that lol and after I left I heard something caught on fire . They were the best in our talent show that year
It just occurred to me how lucky we are that someone at Granbury High had the presence of mind to get their performance on video. To whomever did that, we thank you.
+1 to Granbury, at 1:00 Damian trips and the HS kid doesn't.
*OK Go versus Granbury High*
Found this again after not seeing it for a couple of years. Just fantastic!
Omg.. can't believe this song was 13 yrs ago.. Let's see.. The Myspace days. Good times..good times.
Not a single detail was spared, even the readjusting of the jacket was included.
When both groups do the head thing starting @ about 2:00, I get the impression they (OK Go and Granbury High) all worked this routine out together since day 1.
Congrats on a Great performance, gentlemen. You guys rocked!!! Something you can share with your kids.
Wouldn't it be funny if the guys from the imitation jumped on the band's treadmills and vice versa?
Amazing in terms of accuracy. I bet the original band is proud :p
I love both and it is great to have them side by side. I would have been screaming with the kids!
If only I could convince the managers at my gym to put 8 treadmills together. . .
I love how they dress just like them lol- they didn't almost trip either! lol this is so good i cant even believe it lol
oh my goodness...i thought they were good before ,but this takes it to another level...those guys totally deserved a standing ovation (long version)!
Bloody hell, those guys were absolutely wonderful. Big hand! Superb! I knew these chaps were great but how wonderful! WOW!
Damn, I hope they were the last act, imagine going on after these guys' performance.
the thing about the high school performance was it was live. they did a hell of a job.
VERY IMPRESSIVE!! They achieved perfection in one live "take."
NAILED IT.
Obviously, the kids were a little off-time occasionally, but for a high school production that's about as well as anyone could do it!
I mean, DAMN! That's absolutely impressive!
It's the best one I have seen on RUclips. From the moves to the costumes. These kids deserve that comparison.
Wow! The high schoolers were a little fast, but I think that was the most amazing talent show act I've ever seen. Hope they got 1st place.
I like how the guy in the pink shirt did all those little things in the real video.
They must have really studied the whole dance, even the simple little things
For two years, i've always wonder how long did to take for the high school to learn and remember this. But love this!
In addition to everything else, I'm really impressed they were able to do it perfectly with 4 treadmills instead of 8
i have to say thats probably one of the best covers of the dance that is on youtube! and its pretty amazing how they we're performing it live and they didnt mangage to screw it up!
awesome video! i found the granbury vid a while back and its so cool to watch them side by side. THanks for uploading this! :)
@xdevildoc69
I agree but I think the reason is that "Ok go" only had to practice till it was good enough to show. The students had to do it well one particular run through so they probably practiced more.
That was friggin awesome guys. Great job. Original video brought me here
Legit! Love it! I wonder if the guys from ok go will contact them or anything. They should because that was commitment and true to the band :D
Vid on left shows fy in red and white trip at around 1:00. Then vid at right shows guy in black coat trip at 2:40. Both, have similar flaws
SoleAngelus -- thank you SO MUCH for putting this together!!! I was so sure granbury was spot on, but how to prove it?
You DID! You're awesome.
@254kenneth no, the other one has 6 too, its just that the angle of the cameria doesn't show the last two but if you count the number of front things (idk what theyre called) theres 6
OMG, those kids were so awesome!! XD I hope they know it
@Blankkor thats what i thought also but theres actually 8. granbury's is taken from a slightly different angle. if you watched close enough you wouldve noticed that it would be impossible to do a couple of the moves with only 4 treadmills
I just hope I get to ever have that kind of fun. Looks like it was a total blast.
Thanks for doing this you did a great job putting this video together Those kids deserve the fame. Awesome!
If you haven't heard of the treadmill thing or seen the treadmill dance, you wouldn't which one would be the original since they're both soo good
i saw this last year... great performance! never imagined to see it on youtube!
@InvaderPsych1
They actually get back in time when they do the jazz hands thing behind eachother
I'm really impressed with the wardrobe! Ok Go wears such strange clothes in their videos it's amazing enough to find look-alikes. Of course the dancing is amazing as well.

this is awesome, i love how those kids gave there time to watch this video time and time over time time to get it close to perfect. amazing job, lil hard to get it perfect
Watching both of them. I liked the Granbury High School guys better.
Also, at about 2:34, in the original video the one wearing pink and a vest almost loses his balance, while the other one doesn't.
Daaaaaaaang. I had no idea it was executed so perfectly!
I get the feeling that while it must've taken a while to perfect, this must have been really fun.
Wow... they did a great job. They are pretty in sync with the original (except a few point where they sped up, but then they caught up). I'm impressed!
I cannot even imagine what legends this must have made them in their school.

I still find this completely entertaining to watch! Those kids dd a great job!!!
Great job guys. A couple of parts where the Granbury boys were a bit fast, but overall a fantastic performance...
THIS WAS SO GOOD!!! i can't even believe how talented you guys are! (both ok go and the high school dudes) amazing!!
@sparxx829
dude, the timing is practically perfect. This video here doesn't have the two separate videos in synch with each other, that's all.
Omg they were phenomenal! The little guy with the black hair and pink shirt dd his part amazingly. Ahhh so amazing!
Incredible! Just freaking amazing. Most exact replica of that video I've ever seen. Instant Favorite! Instant Classic! Kudos, and Bravo!
These kids probably have their own kids in school, but this is something they can always be proud of!
@Bel1s my school would never have allowed this too. But in Germany (that's where I'm living) there are no talenmt contest or something like that. We only have boring lessons x__x
Great work guys. you got out of sinc but you got back on track and it was great. GOOD WORK!!

1:00 on the right he almost falls! on the left he does :)!
Wow they were pretty much exactly the same except for a few minor time differences in places! That's amazing!
Gotta love Ok Go.

that was pretty amazing. everything was at perfect timing!
and all the details were awesome! like the shirt fixing at 2:02 with the head movements. and then when the kid did the head thing at 2:50.
the only part off was the part when the two guys jumped up on the handle things and saluted, they did it a little too soon. but the rest of their performance definatly made up for it.
I love how at 1:45 it's NOT perfect, because it makes it seem like they're doing it together and purposefully taking turns jumping up and down =D
I'd say the live performance would be harder. If you mess up then theres no CUT and TAKE 2. I say they did a really awesome job!
Congratulations Granbury High!!!
it looked exactly perfect except for the part where they went a little faster for about ten seconds. that looked AWESOME! good job!!:)
Ok Go should invite these guys to perform at one of their shows or something, they're like in perfect sync lol u can really tell these kids practiced
I want to learn !!! You are great guys!!!
Greeting from Costa Rica!!
Thank you! I was just gonna do that with my computer, but you did it for me.
Wow, theyre amazingggg!
it was great...they were so close
but the highschool guys sped up after a while
but still amazing job i couldve never done it
OMG its nearly the same they must of practiced really hard! Apart from that one small part were they went a little faster for half a minute, it was perfect. i couldnt have done it, well done!

The Granby kids are too adoreable. I joked with a friend, "That would be my kid, flunking math to learn this dance for Talent day."
Wow~~ you guys did an amazing job! I love the original video, and this version is fabulous too!!
On a technical note, excellent. But it just can't match the energy which OK Go put into it ... they make it look easy, while you can tell that GHS are focusing on getting it right more than making it look good. Not bad for a high school though.
