I have one very similar to that. Just as a suggestion, I keep a cast iron kettle filled with water on top of the stove. When fire is lit, it creates steam and humidity. Steam is awesome inside the sauna! But also keeps wood from drying out. Awesome project man!!
Kind of regretting not having subscribed to your patreon. I could have enjoyed this build sooner. It's friggin rad man! Also your videos are really well produced and the music is so complementary to the imagery. Greetings from Germany, wish I had a backyard to build a sauna in.
@@LucyChapelle-pe3pg thanks! I love the stove but I wouldn’t do it the same way again. I thought using the big rectangle tube would save me some welding and make the whole thing easier but when you start cutting tube apart like that it warps so I fought that quite a bit. Plus there was a fair amount of machining involved which most people probably don’t have access to even if they can handle all the welding and grinder work. So, no plans available, sorry. My description in the video will have to suffice. Thanks for watching though!
@@RussellMakesthat’s fair I thought the same thing, it looked like a good way to avoid a lot of welding. Didn’t consider the warpage.. you may have just saved me some suffering. Thanks!
Bangin build bro! Inspired me to turn a wendyhouse into a Finnish sauna - no kit either. I couldn't help but notice that you didn't put any stones on top of your stove. Are you a dry heat type of guy or do you splash water on the metal surface? Also, did you put any insulation or vapour barrier between your walls?
@MagnusMcMillan thanks! And nice job tackling your own build! I guess I do prefer dry heat, but I occasionally put a pot of water on top of the stove and let it simmer and steam up the place. No insulation or vapor barrier. It’s all cedar which supposedly stands up to moisture pretty well. It’s only been a year, but so far so good 👍
Your work is crazy man

Bro that whole project is next level. Amazing. Outdoes my homemade wood fired sauna by miles

Amazing work! Thanks for sharing this.

How hot does it get up to?
@@jacobbourret4551 dangerously hot 🥵
Did you end up putting any fire protection between the stove and the flooring, particularly in the front?
funny i think i just read that same forum thread where someone talks about tig flame straightening haha. awesome wood stove!!
Thanks!
This is unreal. Do you have plans/design available for the stove?
