awesome sharpening video Jared!!! i have a misdemeanor and lowered the edge angle to 17 degrees on atoma diamond plates with freehand techniques i learned from your channel and its a screamer!! thankyou for the knowledge and the amazing knife! cant wait to get one of these next!!
Interesting and new product is Great, but Jared's explanation itself is Amazing. That's why I subscribed to his channel. That's why I always watch it...Thank you very much, Sir. 👍
Jared does indeed have a talent for explaining in a way that is understandable adn helps both newbies and old hands gain and or improve their skills! Knife
I'm not sure if anyone else does this but I put a mirror on the table below the blade so that I can see exactly what's happening and I never roll over the blade. It's been a game-changer for me
@Muhsaft86 no, but if the blade is like mine and it's dual ground then the tip portion is much thicker which typically leads to a thicker edges even at same angle
Dang , banger alert . That looks like a sweet sweet edc piece right there 👍. Good explanation about the tip . Never go over half or give a little quick up and down . That’s where pressure on the handle matters I noticed to make sure , for the heels especially , depending on the side but especially if the tip is pointing left ..so I noticed I had more pressure with my thumb keeping form getting the heel flat . Just a thing I noticed . Pointing right was turning out so good on both heel and tip and then I seen the error in my ways of not applying even pressure . Things you already know amd in depth discussion is required so imma stop here 😂.
Well sir, I just went to the site provided but they didn’t have the stones listed. Could you please put the parts number in the comments. Love the content of your videos and have learned a little along the way. Thanks
Jared, I found a couple budget friendly tools to sharpen my hawkbill blades. I was curious if you've ever seen them. From Amazon I ordered the Antidious farrier sharpening tool (dome shaped diamond rod) and then from Flexcut carving tools I got a hook strop (completely round strop rod). I have a lansky ceramic rod and the combination of these three really helped me get a pretty good edge on there. Probably won't pass the neeves paper towel test, but good on a budget. Thanks!
@christophershear409 yes but you have to go to my hapstone link and get the aftermarket stone holder for it, however Work sharp did take my advice and made their own coming Feb 3rd
Neeves watched you and Ben on the Knafs channel. I can somewhat relate. I was addicted to pain medication for several years. It got really bad. I don’t know how I’m alive or how I survived or have a job. I spent all my money chasing those damn pills. I’ve now been 5 clean for 5 yrs. The withdrawls man was horrible. I remember my first thought after I decided to clean up was shit I can now buy some premium knives I’ve been wanting lol. I guess that was a stupid goal I don’t know. Thanks for sharing your story!
I have the skinny stoned in CBNf rom them and really enjoy them. I have the new composite, (Hybrid), and Vitrified stones coming for testng. I understand you I do as well. Have you rec'd them yet? I sent you my p# a few days ago. I am the one who ask Poltava to get in touch with you and sent you info about them. I am available only at night. Yeah message me on Instagram I think i got your message but no p# yes I got some of the vitrified and silver bonds but only a couple of each i do really like them

what's the point of switching edges every few passes? isn't the tip staying married if you're just doing the same amount of total material removal on both edges?

@@michaell397 For sure
What knife is this you're sharpening? A Reate? I recognize it as one you've shown before, but I don't remember what it is.
Learning each episode ... THANKS

Great idea
I do the same thing 👍🏼 A lot easier to do bumps too😂
Yep, great idea !
I do that as well. I like that I can see exactly what's going on. Especially around the tip.
Well I’m going to stop and buy a mirror to put under my sharpener. Thank you for the idea
So freaking sharp ..! ^^
Nice looking forward to the release on the offender
I wonder, do you get much of an angle change when you sharpen a tanto tip in a fixed pivot point sharpener?
@Muhsaft86 no, but if the blade is like mine and it's dual ground then the tip portion is much thicker which typically leads to a thicker edges even at same angle

I use a Smith diamond pocket rod it helps with all my recurves
Wish I would have watched this yesterday lol.
What do you use to condition your stones?
That new German made Boker TDK is a sick looking tanto. Wish it wasn’t FRN handles for the price but I still want to pick one up!
What microscope do you use?

I need a Spyderco Slym to go with skinny sharpening stones.
I have a question what is the best 1×6 stone for all steel i have a business and want to get the best edges
I want these 1/2" stones but cant find them in the links below. Alli could find is the 1×6
Same took a bit but I found them eventually, kinda pricy though, and mostly on backorder
Is there a way to use the skinny stones with the worksharp precision adjust?
@christophershear409 yes but you have to go to my hapstone link and get the aftermarket stone holder for it, however Work sharp did take my advice and made their own coming Feb 3rd
I use the edge of my strop for recurves I just notice you have to clean and reaply more

USA Market needs to make an 800 ish grit for their resin diamond stones. that 650 to 1100 jump is kind of a bummer

They need to make a fast release single clamp like they did with the double clamps. Push them Jared. They listen to you.
Sexy knife Jerad. I love it.
If you Knife channel crash. That is shurly not possible. You always could become an Pro Sharpener ..! ^^

note to self dont get recurves
