I love the way Ian frames what Speedzone is looking to do. Most RUclips reviewers just don't get it the way you guys do. I wish I was in shorts right now! 😂
Yet again you Guys prove that you are the Gold standard when it comes to equipment testing and making sense of the numbers! One of the irritations with the initial driver testing was that other testers didn't get that this year's drivers were all about stability on off-centre hits. They would spend 10 minutes explaining the technology, hit 10 Balls and say "It isn't any quicker, longer than last years model.
That an impressive start for the Cobra, matching Matty's current driver that the two of you have gone through mutiple shaft fittings on. Be curious to see what happens when you're able to dial in the correct shaft on the Cobra.
Well said guys! Others keep talking about center strike has already reached maximum allowable under rules of golf yet concentrate their reviews on that one perfect strike in the middle. Love how you framed the overall improvement of the driver! Looking forward to SZ Xtreme review.
Great video! This goes a long way to proving that the New Cobra driver is now a mature product that can compete with anything out there! That’s great to see. The more outstanding products we have to choose from the better! From my point of view we know now that we have 3 great drivers on the market. Ping, Cobra, Titleist. Whether or not Callaway, TailorMade, and Mizuno join the party this year is yet to be seen. Though I suspect all 3 will. What a year for drivers!
Love your work guys... exciting couple of months ahead.. I’m trialling the SZ tomorrow.. trialled the Ping 410 over the weekend ... I think I’ll be buying one of those two..
You won't buy 2 better drivers i bought g410 start of this season anf tried the sz last week. Both very close performance for me ended up buying the cobra sz but I'm keeping my g410 as a back up 👍
I haven't hit the Ping G410LST but I previously had the F9. It was a very good driver. Anyways, I hit my diver so much that I cracked it while hitting it in very cold temperatures. Long story short, I sent it to Cobra for replacement. They had to give me a new one. I got the bright idea to sale the F9 and upgrade to the Speedzone. Let me tell you, the Speedzone is a CLEAR upgrade over the F9. The consistency of flight, the forgiveness, the stability. It comes out with a lower flying, lower spinning, tighter dispersed ball pattern. If you can afford it, opt for the Speedzone. If not, the F9 is a great option. My buddy got a steal of a deal on it. And of course there is no going wrong with Ping!
Continue to be impressed with Cobra, also really cool to hear your insight as to the changes in the 2020 model. I may have been premature in judgement after seeing other reviews but starting to understand the tech differences and benefits of the newer products. I'm on waitlist to hopefully get fitted with you in June, looking forward to getting my new driver done right!
When Sergio switched from Callaway he went to Ping and the Ping driver(I'll assume it was the G410), this week in Saudi he's using a TM SIM, we'll see what he's using next week.
Thanks Ian for stating the driver improvement is not about the center strike... all drivers put out relative same numbers from the center... I was going to get the ping but now I am waiting with all these OEM’s seeming to copy ping without the turbolators 😂
Great video guys, looking at the stats, I’d be more interested in a driver that is hit high and on the toe, but says “cool man, I got this” that’s why I love my g400 lst
What shaft is Cobra offering with the new SZ Drivers? The Fujikura Atmos blue tour spec + F9 was/is a wonderful partnership from last season! Hopefully more of the same pairings this season. Price was good too!
I gamed f9 with atmos blue start of this year just compared this with sz last week and it's no longer but sx is way more stable on off centre hits and forgivness is way better. I lose less yards on the sz when not struck from centre so my order has been placed it's a besat of a driver for sure
The G410 is one of the best drivers EVER made. Forgiveness AND performance. There are drivers that are faster (ball speed), but extremely marginal. I'd rather be in the fairway 2-3 yards shorter than a faster ball speed driver.
My dad got the g410+ to replace his m3 I'm hoping it'll give him more consistency over m3 since he doesn't have a high swing speed... But I took his m3 and with my 117mph swing omg it's a BEAST
I love how you talk about performance. That 46" driver that you crushed 305 ONCE at a demo day is NOT going to be your most consistent. I promise. Hit the fairway. You need to take an extra club from the rough anyway.
Since most of these drivers are close in distance now, we need to take into affect the Yards Offline stat for some kinda NET distance equation with maybe a penalty for more than 12 ? yards left or right of center, cause if one is chipping out from the trees, that 300 yrd drive didn't help you much.
Great videos to start off the week! Based on the comments about Stability of SZ over F9... can we expect a video comparing off center hits? I have the F9 and definitely see a drop off on Toe impact... like to see if SZ fixes this. Seems like you mention it here but would be great to see head to head comparisons.
I gamed the f9 great when struck out of centre but heel and toe strikes lost me big distance. Have gamed the sz for 2 weeks and i can tell you off centre strikes loose you less distance. Hands down the sz is way more stable than the f9 looks better but didn't gain me anymore distance. It is now in my bag and is a big upgrade on the f9 due to stability and forgivness for sure
Since game improvement and super game improvement clubs are the biggest selling sector of the market, should you not be testing these irons with a lower swing speed player, or Matt dialing it down? And once again, I will beat the drum for Wilson being added to your matrix
Curious, you didn't test with the same shaft in both clubs. Not apples to apples. So I assume, the Cobra was not built for Matt as far as swt and frequency? Pretty good testament to Cobra to perform as good as Ping without the same gamer shaft and specs.
Matt's worst shot looks better with SZ than the gamer, going to be interesting to see if he switches when you get back in the studio and have a chance to build it up for him.
Ian, when you guys are doing these comparison tests or any driver tests, do you "not" consider "OFFLINE YDS". Unless the quad4 is misreading in this test on the range I'd say Matt is in the rough 70% or more of the time on this test, 29R,26R,32R, 33R,38L,25L,18L,22R,44R,15R, 28L etc etc, average fairway is only 30yds wide. I think you'd better find a straighter driver head, lol.
It’s hard to know exactly where you’re aimed on the quad vs the actual range. We didn’t have the alignment stick the quad needs to calibrate. There’s also wind that can affect how a player changes start line and shape to compensate.
Mikey stop hiding, what the hell I want to see the X-ray of the carry on and luggage you took to Orlando. I wonder if Meghan knows Canada already has a Princess? Luckiest lefty in golf that Matty boy for sure! #txgmobiletoystore 👍 Thanks for video appreciate the midnight oil!
Ian, "Cobra has not tried to increase the benefits of the middle of this driver." Nor has any of the manufacturers. They've reached the limits. Please fellas, I love your content, but acknowledge that he clubs have reached their max on centre hits and that the goals today are to max out the mishits we all endure. That said, those adjustments to off centre hits are so minimally differentiated, we've hit the limits. What are you looking for, a better heel strike on average, toe??? Come on, it's a a mugs game at this time. The heads do what they are allowed to do, the shaft will allow us to maximize.
I game the f9 and found no distance gains over sz but i did find the sz is way more stable and consistent on off centre strikes. My drop offs are less punishing and the sz looks better in my opinion so a no brainer for me. My order has been placed 👍

Great stuff, gents. I’ve just moved over from TM M5 to PING G410 so great to see that the G410’s still the one to beat. 👍🏻
Thanks guys I don’t know how I missed this one but glad to see it late than never. Cheers
Made the change from the M4 to the G410, looks like I made the right choice! Keep the videos coming guys! Great content
I've got the M4 as well. Looking to change.
@@charlesrohl7635 I tell ya, I've hit the range a few times with the G410 and truly couldn't be happier!

Kudos to Cobra again.... incredible numbers and still cheaper than the Big Boy's. Loved the F9 can't wait to test the SZ
Great way to start the week off, indeed. More comparisons from the other guys (not just SIM and MAVRIK), please.
Very interesting analysis - i may be looking at switching out my TS2 and the Cobra intrigues me
I am looking forward to some great videos coming.
Way to go boys ! Enjoyed this video. Let’s see which driver is going to outperform the G410+ (LST in this case) !
And this is why I’m still not replacing my G400 this year. Dollar to yards gained ratio just isn’t there for me.
