2:20 I believe his name, is where we get the word "nacissism." (wikipedia) In Greek mythology Narcissus was a hunter from Thespiae in Boeotia who was known for his beauty. According to Tzetzes, he rejected all romantic advances, eventually falling in love with his own reflection in a pool of water, staring at it for the remainder of his life.
I have some fun facts for you : 1. In greek mythology, Hadès is Zeus' brother what makes him Hercules' uncle in the movie. Plus, Héra, Zeus' wife is also his sister. 2. Scar skin is a reference of something Zazu says to Mufasa at the begining of " The Lion King " (he says he sees Scar as a carpet). 3. One of the statues visible during Meg's song, the one of an angel kissing a woman, is a real one called " Psyché revived by Love's kiss " and is exposed at the Louvre museum (except they don’t kiss each other on the real one)
@@RukiyaReacts 1. Yes, Héra is his sister and she's not Hercules' mother in the mythology. She even try to kill him when he's a baby with snakes in his cradle but he kills them thanks to his strenght. You should know that Zeus is the father of the majority of the Gods. They're all the results of his infidelities. Oh, and in antic Egypt, the pharaoh and his wife were also brother and sister (and often father and daughter) because it was the same thing with their Gods 2. It's after the moment where Mufasa and Scar are talking after Simba's ceremony. 3. 24:46 Honestly, Phil should have known that Herc wouldn't believe him. First, Phil doesn't have any real evidence to support his claim. And second, Phil has been antagonistic towards Meg almost since the very start anyway. So from Herc's perspective, Phil is just being a dick about Meg as usual, and baselessly accusing Meg for no other reason than to spite her. Let's not forget that the whole reason Phil doesn't like Meg is because she rejected his creepy-ass advances.
Hades is actually really chill compared to Zeus it's kinda weird that he's the villain here. Like, was Eris not available? Nyx? Moros? Phobos and Deimos? I know Phobos and Deimos are in this movie but they're watered down to little gremlin henchmen. Hell even Zeus would've mad more sense as a villain
Either Eris or Oizys could've been cool villains if they weren't adapting the 12 labors myth [they could've had Zeus marry Hera after having Heracles to keep it toned down and they could've adapted the gigantomachy at the end instead creating nonexistent titans and having Hades lead them
12:00 Lol, Disney loves a good hoarder character. Funnily enough, as far as the ancient Greek pantheon of gods goes, Hercules and Ariel are actually cousins-once-removed. Hades and Zeus' third brother is Poseidon; God of the seas, storms, and earthquakes. One of Poseidon's kids was Triton; who was designated as god of the deep-sea. So yeah, Hercules' dad and Ariel's grandfather are brothers. Revisiting this with you, was fun! thanks!
Cerberus, in Greek mythology, the monstrous watchdog of the underworld. He was usually said to have three heads, though the poet Hesiod (flourished 7th century BCE) said he had 50. Heads of snakes grew from his back, and he had a serpent’s tail. He devoured anyone who tried to escape the kingdom of Hades, the lord of the underworld, and he refused entrance to living humans, though the mythic hero Orpheus gained passage by charming him with music. One of the labours of the warrior Heracles was to bring Cerberus up to the land of the living; after succeeding, he returned the creature to Hades.

You know, your singing voice isn't actually as bad as you think it is. It sounds raw just because it's untrained. With the timbre in your voice and your sense of musicality, I would actually encourage you to try out singing lessons! Even just for the fun of it. It's of those skills that show noticeable improvement VERY quickly with lessons (which is nice and motivating), and once you learn the technique it doesn't really go away from your skill set (like learning to ride a bicycle). With how much joy you show in singing along, I think you'd really enjoy it. :)

This is one of my FAVORITE Disney movies. I watched it a couple days ago with my nephew. And it's funny how you mention this movie has the same vibes as the Lion King bc they are practically the same lol a male heir is plotted against by his uncle who sends his minions to kill him. The minions fail to do so and are like "we'll tell boss man his nephew is dead. He'll never know." There is a montage sequence of him growing up. He returns. Then minions freak out and the uncle has to try to kill him himself.
Oh my Disney villains apparently always have their minions that are sometimes more well um useful/helpful/reliable/dependable than some of the others minions and maybe usually aren’t liked much except for Disney’s 1989 the little mermaid Ursula’s minions

Hercules is a very sharp contrast to Disney’s previous film The Hunchback of Notre Dame. We go from a story that’s very dark and mature for a Disney film to a story that looks and feels like you’re watching a Saturday morning cartoon like Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry and I love it
Hercules is definitely tone inconsistent, just like Hunchback of Notre Dame. Both of these movies are hilarious, in Hercules especially Meg and Hades are amazing. But the tone inconsistency kinda irks me, it's a super hero, Rocky, sports athlete's of the 90s taking advertisments movie about finding your place where you belong and trying to teach the humble guy to be humble and sacrifice himself. And the movie is kinda goofy and extremely serious at the same time. Same with hunchback of Notre Dame, sometimes it gets extremely dark and frightening, and then they have the stupid gargoyles just saying silly stuff or having the goofy scream sound effect in the most intense scene in the movie, where the gargoyles fight the soldiers at the burning Notre Dame.

Looking lovely as always, Rukiya! NOT THE PEBBLES!!! Ma'am.....place yourself in time-out, please. 🤣😭🙃
Ironically, in actual Greek mythology, Zeus was laying it low and spreading it wide, and having a bunch of "pebbles" all over Greece. Hera stayed trying to kill his mistresses and/or his children with them.
The Muses are quite literally the G.O.A.T. when it comes to Disney!!! Those songs are legendary, and no one can tell me any different! 👏👏👏
Hey DMan!! Yeah, I was out of pocket with that comment.💀 I’m honestly not surprised that Zeus is for the streets lol.
The Muses are so iconic! I would love to see a movie based just on them. With a long soundtrack too, cause their voices are ✨perfection✨
Meg is literally one the best of few Non-Princess characters.. I also love Jane from Tarzan
"Oedipus....I mean I thought I had problems!"
Problems in regards to Oedipus is a bit of an understatement - though I still feel the urge to say 'that was an accident!'
8:27 well, in the myth. Heracles was praised in his town, he used to fight off predators from attacking the town, and overall be very useful.
I love how the last song she didnt know the lyrics so she just "eh can pass this one" and doenst even puts in the video
And im tottally here for it, bless us with your voice girl
2:20 I believe his name, is where we get the word "nacissism." (wikipedia) In Greek mythology Narcissus was a hunter from Thespiae in Boeotia who was known for his beauty. According to Tzetzes, he rejected all romantic advances, eventually falling in love with his own reflection in a pool of water, staring at it for the remainder of his life.
I just wanted you to know that whenever you sung, my 2 month old’s face lit up with smiles 😂 He loves your singing voice ❤️
Awwe!! That’s so adorable!!!🥹🥰❤️ I’m honoured that he enjoys my terrible singing voice haha
19:32 I'm glad somebody finally made this joke lol
It fits that scene so perfectly 😂
I have some fun facts for you :
1. Héra is his SISTER😱😱🤢
2. Now I need to watch the lion king again to catch line😆
3. Ouu that’s cool!
Oh, and in antic Egypt, the pharaoh and his wife were also brother and sister (and often father and daughter) because it was the same thing with their Gods
2. It's after the moment where Mufasa and Scar are talking after Simba's ceremony.
3. As a french girl who has family next to Paris, I saw this statue withy own eyes.

@@RukiyaReacts Yeah Greek mythology is loaded with far worse incest than GoT lol.
As someone who has studied Greek and Roman mythology, I can confirm this is true.
@@strawberrycow5608 yes, Greek mythology was one of my specific interests when I was a teen (I have ASD) and I found it in a book about Greek mythology in the attic in my parents'house
Ya know Hercules's story in this was sorta similar to Superman's in a way. Also Megara was like another Lois Lane with her strong sassy & fearless personality😏😂
Dude this movie is DEFINITELY in my top 3, behind the Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Nightmare Before Christmas! The music in this movie is top tier and Hades?! Iconic. Meg? ICON. THE MOMENT!!
This is exactly why this is my favourite disney movie ever and nothing can top it
fun fact: when hades said it's only halftime 17:40, if you were to pause it, it be half way to the end of the movie, telling you the movie is almost over :D
I remember the Disney t.v. show of Hercules. This and Aladdin were great shows on top of movies.
11:50
"Two words:✌ I.. am.. retired!" LOL
What a fun watch and great reaction! I used to practice Meg's song all the time as a kid. 😂
Megara is the best thing about this movie oop besides Himbo Herc
Oop🫢 you said nothing but facts
Why is Herc a himbo? LOL
@@RedRoseSeptember22 google the term? have you seen him sis haha
Actually Deimos and Phobos are in the show
Either Eris or Oizys could've been cool villains if they weren't adapting the 12 labors myth [they could've had Zeus marry Hera after having Heracles to keep it toned down and they could've adapted the gigantomachy at the end instead creating nonexistent titans and having Hades lead them
One of my all time favorite Disney movies! I was 8 when it came out and the theater had a whole event out front where they were painting us kids
22:59 definitely this song!!!!!!🥰😍 The moment I heard this song for the first time I fell in love ♥️💖💞💘
Revisiting this with you, was fun! thanks!
It’s just a theory a Film theory :)
Hades is actually pretty helpful in the myth and Hera is the villain of the myth
Ok but like this movie is SO ICONIC I LOVE THIS!!
My favorite Disney movie!!! HONEY YOU MEAN HUNKULES!!! Lmfao ♥

I still love this movie. Meg is awesome, Hades is one of my favorite Disney villains, and I still love Hercules.
1:09 I love this begginings with a old man telling as a story
The villagers hate Hercules because he can't control his strength and keeps destroying stuff.
I know that, but it would have been smarter for them to use his strength to their advantage. Even if he's a bit destructive lol
Don't have to be jerk's about it
Cerberus, in Greek mythology, the monstrous watchdog of the underworld.
Hermes is SO girly pop in this movie I love it XDD
I swear I didn't realize that the staff was on point till today ⚕️😂👌
Herc and Meg's relationship was heavily inspired by Superman and Lois Lane.
I'm a Batman fan don't hate me pwease.🥺😅😅😅
Fun fact, when hades says “it’s only half time” it’s the actual half way mark of the movie!
0:06 for real 😂😂😂

Who else thinks Meg is sassy and iconic?
Meg is like the queen she slays so much for her bossiness like that girl is so cute and slays a lot!❤❤❤❤❤

@@RukiyaReacts I genuinely mean it. I've seen a million of these, and this is the best.
Awe, thank you!❤️ I was in choir growing up but I haven't done proper singing in almost a decade.😅 But I agree, if I took singing lessons I could whip my voice back into shape🥰
@@RukiyaReacts - There are programs that can help train your voice. You should do it; your voice is really lovely.
Oh my Disney villains apparently always have
their minions that are sometimes more well um
useful/helpful/reliable/dependable than some
of the others minions and maybe usually aren’t liked
much except for Disney’s
1989 the little mermaid
Ursula’s minions
Heracles wears the scar skin for his entire story in his myth
Supposedly "I am retired" in ancient Greek IS two words
Honestly in a live action version Lizzo would slay the short and iconic muse

Hercules is a very sharp contrast to Disney’s previous film The Hunchback of Notre Dame. We go from a story that’s very dark and mature for a Disney film to a story that looks and feels like you’re watching a Saturday morning cartoon like Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry and I love it
Ironic that you said that because Hercules would later get a animated series set during his teen years.
@@anni1348”trying to teach the humble guy to be humble” sure makes a lot of sense I guess
