Exactly. I've actually heard people say,"Be kind, you sorry bastard!" And, saw a kid hit his sister. Mom knocked him across the head and with each word hit him again,"WE (whack) DON'T (whack) HIT (whack)!!!!"
Thanks Jeff Applebaum, that was hilarious. Humor is the only thing that's gotten me through these last couple of years since the whole COVID thing started and clean comedy like Drybar is my favorite. Thanks Drybar for inviting Jeff and other great comics like him to keep us entertained. It's truly been a lifesaver for me.
Your wedding ceremony must’ve been a blast, Jeff. I’m glad you and your wife were able to defy the superstition about broken glass being a bad omen in Chinese culture. Congrats on the anniversary, you two!
About the bad omen: it actually ain't, some regional traditions do try to avoid broken glass on weeding days/important events, but it's more like just a scare (cuz you dont want your guests get cut on wedding day), but in general there's always a person there to turn it around into "sui sui ping an" which is a pun for "stay safe", and thus all the commotion gets ignored and everybody go back to being cheerful again. However if you have one or two extra grumpy guests that may be a different story where they make a big deal out of it...
@@reidate7274 The glass that gets broken at our weddings is always covered before in aluminium foil, so there are no shards. We don't think it's fun to get cut at a wedding either 😉 Cheers from Israel.
Back in the 90's, some Brooklyn guy opened an exotic game restaurant in the small California mountain community I lived in. I was told I should meet this guy because he seemed "like one of you business guys" (yeah, you can guess what they meant). I stopped by his place, enjoyed dinner, then chatted with the guy grilling him on what part of NYC he was from. He was being rather vague so I asked him "What, are you in the witness protection program?". The guy looked terrified. Two days later, the place was closed and he was gone. It turns out the owner was Henry Hill and he thought he got made. I found that our a few years later when I heard him on a talk show telling his version.
He cracks himself up so much it's hilarious. A crisp Spanish broadcast! No duh, all my local channels blown out by a rainstorm & there is la Espanol channel.
It is such a rare occurrance to see a comedian who's not only funny but actually witty. Great material, great delivery, and nothing beats a comedian constantly trying to not burst laughing at his own jokes. Just brilliant!
I recently went to a birthday party of my friend, who is a Christian priest, and all the other attendees were church goers. I explained to them that my wife is Jewish, but hey, you guys worship one, so she's in good company. Well done, Jeff. Seriously crying of laughter over here

Jeff the bit about the grocery store and the guy texting a photo of the frozen pizza to (presumably) his wife to get conformation... SO TRUE MY FRIEND! Can't tell you how many times when to make thing easier on my wife, I've offered to go to the grocery store for some staple items, I've done that very thing, because HEAVEN FORBID I should get the wrong brand of cheese, yogurt, pasta sauce, or avocados. Amazing show Jeff. I too am Jewish though I wasn't raised in a traditional Jewish home. I was raised in a Christian home but have more recently started looking more at my Torah based heritage. The best part was watching him grin and try not to crack up and his own jokes😁
That’s a total act on his part to try to make the material seem funnier than it is. He’s told these jokes between 50 and 200 times.
