Hi, Lou! For a dumb idea, John did an amazing job with this new old machine! When Wayne lets his grandkids take their first drive in it, I wonder what they'll think of the elaborate procedure they'll have to follow just to get it started! LOL! Thanks for sharing. guys, and go ahead, Wayne, drive the hell out of it!
GREETINGS. From Venezuela, WOO! WOO! STUNNING BUGATTI SKY OPEN. Mr. Lou, Super Thank you for keeping us in touch with this STUPENDOUS SPORTS AUTOMOBILE. ..................................Like Always an EXCELLENT VIDEO.

As we used to say back on the farm.. Wow. That must've cost a pretty penny. Hey, Lou- what's the purpose of all the wiring on the body of the car? Was it just for looks, or did it serve a purpose? Thanks.
Hey J Liberty, "what's the purpose of all the wiring on the body of the car?" Hmmm, I'm not sure and that is a good question. Since it's 1931, I'd guess it's not for look, and more for purpose, however I could be wrong. Hoping a Viewer with knowledge can share. Lou
These are "safety wires", so that the nuts and bolts holding the body parts don't unscrew and fall off to the road in the middle of a race. Engine vibration and road bumps will do that to plain nuts and bolts. They were threaded through a hole in the bolt and cleverly connected to the other bolts so that they actually tighten each other even more when subject to vibrations. That was a labor intensive process before there were "locknut" type fasteners. I think Bugatti persisted with this old fashioned method even when there were better alternatives. It's part of the charm and craftsmanship of his cars :)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that Bugatti Pur Sang is not road legal in Europe as it doesn't have safety belt and no amber light indicators. Other than that, that car is a piece of mechanic art like a Blancpain Tourbillion watch.
Hi 80, el Ají, I'm not sure of the European road laws, so hoping a Viewer can share knowledge. Regarding "that car is a piece of mechanic art like a Blancpain Tourbillion watch." I agree. Nice car that you can't register to use on the road..................
.....and yet who's going to give you a ticket in this?
@@loucostabile In the UK and I believe many European countries, it can't be registered to use on the road...
