How fast can you read?

- Welcome to this Speed Reading Test! This test will give you a rough idea about how fast you can read, ranging from 100 to 2000 Words Per Minute. How long can you keep up?
Rapid Serial Visual Presentation, or RSVP, is when words are fixed onto one spot of the screen, eliminating your need to move your eyes across a page when reading, thus increasing your reading speed. Most people can read at 250 - 400 WPM without RSVP. Most people can read at around 800 WPM with RSVP. How fast can you read?
In the final level, at 2000 WPM, there is a secret message. The message is a quote from a book. If you can read it, post the quote in the comments. If you know which character from which book said it, post that too! Good luck!

Level 1 - 100 Words Per Minute (WPM)
Level 2 - 200 Words Per Minute (WPM)

I came from the other speed reading video. I passed the max level on that video and this video. The trick is not to read, but to understand what you're seeing in front of you. Your mind adapts each time the text gets faster, so if you keep watching this video or read a text quickly, you might be able to accomplish what I just did.
Quick note: You can unlock this ability by not just your local language, you could do it on other languages too.

I got carried by the fact I read the Harry Potter books so I recognized the quote and was able to read it
at first i couldn't tell what it was from till i re read it slower to actually understand it then automatically knew it was from harry potter

I stayed up until it was level 13, sadly, level 14 and 15 created after images making it seem impossible to read. I could still comprehend the words that aren’t disappearing yet

I could read up to level 8 comfortably but could still get the ideas and concepts through the whole thing.
i was able to complete 15 with a trick called "skimming" where you only take the important words and piece them together. very helpful for reading alotin no time.

i managed to read it till level 15.i have been reading books scince i was 3(small ones)so that really helped a lot.
On level 9 stopped realizing every single word, on level 13 stopped understanding the meaning of the sentence
I got much worse, I stopped getting every single word by level 5 and I stopped understanding the meaning at level 9. I sort of expected it though, I'm generally a slow reader compared to other people.

I genuinely cannot believe that reading the words in this video is easier for me than reading them at the same speed on paper. Idk, something about my brain having an easier time connecting the words when they appear next to each other without disappearing and not just one after the other in a quick flash? im a non-native speaker and i can read both english and my mother language extremely quickly, but this video made my brain crash lol

That's bc you got the basic jist of it from picking out certain words. For example I was able to pick out the quote, but that was only bc I saw the words going, mind, idea and expelled. I wasn't able to read most of it tho

Level 6 is around where I stopped being able to fully read every word but level 12 is where I couldn't even get the gist of the sentence anymore
I got up to the highest level.. I've always been a really good reader, and amazing at writing too. I knew I was a good reader, but I'm pretty sure I was only at a 7th grade reading level. I don't read often, but I will if I get a new book or something. My friends ask how fast I type, too. People ask how I read so well, and what the first book I ever started to read was. I've been reading since I think I was 4. That's around 9 years, and my mom has taught all my siblings and I to read from the book series Dick and Jane. Those books were my favorite, they were the light of my life at the time, I was absolutely obsessed with reading when I was younger. Again, I don't read often, but I assume I'm good at it since I got to level 15.

Level 11 was where I started to not be able to read every word, and had to rely on keywords to understand. Anything past that I just can't comprehend.
That was scarily easy for me- the fact that I do a ton of videos like this is probably why though.

I struggled starting at lvl 11, it seemed like words were merging together so it was pretty hard trying to differentiate them
It’s not how fast I can read, it’s how long I can pay attention. My mind wanders in a split second so it’s really hard to focus.

I stopped being able to read the full sentences at level 8. However I could still infer what the sentences were saying. Though the only word that I got from the quote at normal speed was expelled.

back in 8th grade i was reading ahead in the book because i have adhd and i got bored of "following along" and the teacher kept telling me to go to the current chapter and at the end of the year i still got basically an A.

I think my usual reading level is anywhere between 550-650, maybe even closer to 700, but without the rsvp I was able to read full sentences to level 10, read some of 11, and was only able to pick some words out of 11-12
After level 11 I got stuck. The best way to read and comprehend is to learn to skim but retain all inportany information which is in most of the text

I got everything from level 1 to level 11 correct. At level 12, i could hardly comprehend any words. At level 13, I made a bit of a comeback and was able to comprehend the sentences but it was a nosedive from there onwards.

Level 11 easily max...after that I was not able to read every single word but was still able to infer the meaning of sentence. The last level was truly impossible for me to comprehend
I struggled a bit on 13 and 14, but I absorbed enough meaning that I knew 15 was a book quote - and that it was Hermione - on the first try

I think it’d be more weird if you knew it was a harry potter quote if you weren’t even a harry potter fan. You see when it comes to the things people are interested, generally they have a higher perception of that stuff than ordinary stuff they don’t care about. I have adhd, so I space out often. But when I hear a single key word of something I love, for example One Piece, Technoblade, or Japan, I will immediately snap back to reality. So yeah it’s not weird. Unless this doesn’t apply to everyone and we are actually very weird.
