Around Level 7 I reached a weird point where I couldn't say the words in my head fast enough, but my brain could still process the thought of every sentence.
Ikr XD for me it's because it helps me to say words in like a sorta whisper Lol I suck at enunciation so I wasn't really understanding but I was kinda catching the gist of it Lol
Managed to understand the meaning of level 10, although I might rephrase the sentence incorrectly, or miss some smaller words. The other levels were fun too, only started to struggle at level 8 :D
When you're speed reading at this level, usually the reader isn't looking for the words in particular, rather, they're looking for the gist of the phrase or sentence. Going by that, all the levels could be understood at a basic level to some - if not most - experienced readers.
just write down the sentance i fell comftably reading 600 words a min and beeing able to exeactly tell what happend thought if you ask me to write it word to word i miss about 10% mainly words that arent important in the sentance the pig is eating the carrots the pig is eating carrots
actually, this is an ability the brain naturally has by perceiving the words and remembering the important parts which actually allows it to piece together the full sentence, even the words you “missed” while reading the next line and is one of the most important skills in speedreading
That was a strange feeling haha, I stopped being able to say the words in my head at level 7, but was able to still read and comprehend up to level 9. I don’t think I’ve ever read like that without actually saying the words in my head. 😂
The odd thing about this test is that, yes, I could read nine easily and ten mostly, but usually I don't read one word at a time like that. Most fast readers read phrases, rather than words.
Same, I do that too, most of the time you can skim through a sentence and understand it without needing to really read or pay attention to it very much
the higher levels are actually possible, and quite easy. the trick is to let go: while you might not be able to process the words fully (and will probably miss most connecting words) comprehending the overall meaning is doable. the hard part is doing it with large text walls, but with practice it's actually eaaier: it allows you to see more than one word at once
I can hereby say that the comment is true. But for me, the thing was that it was fairly easy till lvl 5, lvl 6 was a bit of a struggle, but by lvl 7 I missed a word but since I knew the rest of the words, I knew that the word was read. And same thing with lvl 8. At lvl 9 I missed 2-3 words but I knew what they were cuz I had the other words, therefore I knew what the whole sentence was but at lvl 10, I missed 5-6 words lol but I somewhat understood the sentence. I was saying is out loud as I was reading in my head so that the sentences could hopefully make more sense and it actually did help!
I eventually figured that out after like 400 when I was trying to read every word, then on the next level I just looked at it, and it’s waaaaay easier. Like you don’t get every word but you get enough to know what it’s saying. It’s pretty cool.
@@emmytheidiot5802 me too and i think the only reason we were able to read half of the words at level 10 is because the youtuber kept using the same words.
The words in level 10 may be too fast for my eyes to register each word, but seeing snippets of each word allows me to piece together a sentence. Reading fast may be good but I usually have the problem of re-reading because I lose my positioning
@@familyhebrant1393 No, your brain filled in the words to the sentence; that's how it works for 9 and 10. At that point, it's just being able to fill in the blanks, which is basically what your brain does for your environment 24/7.
Well I’m not gonna lie, I couldn’t actually read about half of the words on the last one cause I got tripped up, but I guess my ability to use context clues is good cause I still figured what it said
My friends and I did this thing where we had to read it out loud as we read it or it didn't count. At around lever 6, I reached a point where I couldn't say the words fast enough out loud, but since I have a photographic memory, I could repeat the sentence (almost) word for word.
Surprisingly, even as a legally blind person, I could read up to level 9. One thing people can do to learn faster is to not vocalize the words in their mind, and instead focus on recognizing the character combinations of words, and making small assumptions from there. This saves a lot of time reading, and is a a technique I use to read large documents quickly
Indeed, I use the same technique to speed read many books online, Enabling me to finish books in under an hour(of course bigger books take a bit more time)
I believe the reason why most people, similarly to me, are able to comprehend these is not because they actually read that fast. I'll admit I am fairly good at reading, but I think it's that I (and most others) can just focus on reading/understanding the words rather than trying to zoom over each line back and forth, so they can see faster speeds.
This and what is also very very important is that all the words are on the same place of the screen so we don't have to move our eyes. In speed reading challenges like this where you can just sort of stare at a certain point you are significantly faster than if you had to read a normal text left to right.
its funny because the last level is literally Impossible you dont miss a word, because Its more than 15 words per seconds, thaths half of our vision perception, but at this speed the pictures Go so fast thath you cant remember what you saw, but incredible some ppl can pass thath, theres a Guy whith a rare disease thath can read at 1550, its incredible.
i think the reason it's so easy to pass level 10 is that you can see the most important words so therefore you can understand the overall message rather than reading every individual word. don't take my word for this though.
the whole idea of speed reading is that you don't technically read the whole thing but you are able to extract all of the important information and disregard the unimportant. So even if you dont read every single word its still speed reading
I don't think I'm very good at reading fluently at more than a fairly slow pace. But I was able to catch important and relevant information through most of it, so there's that.
For me, when I read I don't actually READ every word, I read every other word or less and my brain automatically fills in the rest of the sentence and 99% of the time it's what the sentence actually says. I pretty sure that's how most quick readers read, or anyone who reads books quickly and can finish them quickly.
me too, you just need a few keywords and your brain will understand the rest for you. I "trained" this by reading books almost every day when I have the time.
Yeah. Sometimes when I’m reading I’ll skip over a few words to even entire sentences and I’ll still be able to mostly understand it. I do have to reread every now and then, and Im starting to try to reading slower so I can get each word.
At level 7 i started struggling keeping up with all the words, but still got the message through. I was able to “read” and understand everything, even past level 10. I had an amazing time reading, but overall, when you know some of the larger words in the english dictionary you can glance at the word and recognise it easily, therefor it was not really a struggle understanding until the end.
Before level 4: average speeds, I'm comfy Level 5-7: need to focus more Level 8-9: some words fall out but I get the general understanding of what it is trying to say so I'm still capable Level 10: my limit, I cant. I only grasp certain words like "If you can you are lying, you are superhuman" etc. without being able to put together the full text perfectly
I actually got past level 10, though it was around level 8 that I started struggling, basically it said something about if you can read this, you are either lying or are an alien, or superhuman. Your reading speed is about double than the average human’s :/ I will not say how long it took me to comprehend though
Which is the point of reading. You dno't need to raed every word to umderstand the meening of the sentence. Like this, did you see the typos i made in this comment on first read or are you looking back now to see where they are?
thats normal, when you read you dont actually read each word for word, your brain just looks at it briefly, registers its general meaning, and moves to the next word
I hate how I can read and understand level 10 with almost no trouble but I can't seem to read half a page of a book without having to re-read it 5 times...
In case ur wondering why you can’t read at this speed when normally reading a book, you are capable of reading at a much faster pace when you don’t need to move your eyes
because when you move your eyes, your vision blacks out for a small interval of time (unless your eyes are not normal), (the reason you don't see your vision blacking out is that your brain is a very good liar) so scrolling through books and capturing all of the words quickly is hard when your vision blacks out half of the time. to test whether or not what i said is actually true or not: look in a clear mirror closely and move the direction of your eyes around a little. if i was lying, you would be able to see your eyes move around but if i was telling the truth, you would only be able to see the destination of your eyes when they move.
I was not expecting to be able to pass level nine with no trouble at all. Although i couldn't read the extremely long word, at the end when you showed it for longer i could easily read it. I even passed level ten, although a word or two slipped passes me.
10 said: Nobody can read these words! If you say you can read it, you are either lying or you are an alien species that has extreme reading powers. Your reading strength is more than double the strength of a normal human. You are incredible! I made it up to 10
At level 9 and 10 I just didn't "hear" the words anymore in my head but the information still got transmitted into my brain. Very interesting feeling but I'm impressed by how many people here were able to read it. Humans really are great.
To make the test more accurate, common word combinations, like "for example," "such as," and "keep up with" should be displayed on a single screen, since a fluent reader can recognize these patterns as if they were one word.
Also, having all the words displayed at the same time on a page allows for peripheral vision picking up on phrases and sentences, whereas displaying single words limits even faster reading.
Now this is what is interesting, due to the brain's ability to comprehend certain scentences without all of the owrds, or even words I was able to comprehend what was in level 10 without being able to read it, in fact around level 7 is where I stopped reading every single word but was still able to comprehend levels 8 and 9 fairly easily.
Reading on a screen (your computer, phone, etc) and not having to move your eyes around (or example follow a line with your eyes as you read) increases your reading speed! Chances are your reading speed is a little slower than the level you feel most comfortable at here. :)
omg true drag us… I watched this on my phone 🤔 I definitely couldn’t read that king word in the middle bc my eyes had to move around. also my head hurts now 😭
I couldn't believe i could actually read it! The thing is, I read it, but my mind actually processes it a bit slower. But the breaks between levels gave my mind a small chance to rest and process the last few words properly
I did level 10 struggling, although I will say that the later messages kept on saying how surprising it is for you to be able to read the text, so in a way, he was right, but not the earlier texts
At levels 9 and 10, a few words slipped between the cracks, but the message was clear. Since the text was very predictable, it would've been more interesting if each level had a completely different context/subject - something really specific, that you wouldn't really be able to piece together without reading the whole thing. It also feels very different than reading normally, where your eyes just glide over the words and take in everything in your peripheral vision as well. You can absorb what you've already read better, and guess how a sentence is going to finish based on how long the words are, where punctuation is, maybe even recognize words before you get to them. It happens too fast to think about, but it plays a big part in actually reading fast. This just feels more like a short-term memory test, like flashcards. Kinda fun, though. xD
@@permanentlybored195 I can attest to this. some times if im reading a book for school i don’t pronounce anything in my head but still know exactly what the book is saying

I made it to level 8 pretty comfortably. by level 9 it was a little weirder. I could interpret most all of the words, and at 10, I was basically picking up most of the words of the sentences and filling in the rest.
I was actually surprised that i was able to read all the levels. Reaching level 9 it definitely got a bit more difficult but i was still able to make out the words and form a sentence in my head very quickly
Guys we gotta have superhero names? But I thought it was gonna be in smaller print or something- Anyways I shall be named Shebook ( Shee Bok) I dunno I'm a girl and I love books and I'm pretty sure I speak extremely fast but I can't rap💀🤣😅
Level 10 was definitely hard, but I practiced reading 9 a few times first, and let my brain do all of the work, including filling in any words that I only got a few letters of.
I genuinely got all of them. I did struggle and my brain had to fill in a few words but for the most part I got up to level 10! I love reading just for fun so that’s probably a great contributor.
I got all of them too but weirdly I read slower than average with books. I think the reason is because I don’t enjoy reading but I’m very competitive and this was a competition
Key here is to basically look at the words and not read it. As reading it means you have to pronounce it, and if you can't pronounce it, you will try to repronounce and you lose time. Just, rely on your vision, and storage inside your mind to read them.
The words are Nobody can read these words! If you say you can read it, you are either lying or you are an alien species that has an extreme reading power. Your reading strength is more then double the strength of a normal human. You are incredible!
I got the same results as you! I legit showed my parents my results cause they say I don’t read enough but reading fan-fics, mangas and even the subtitles of animes improved my reading speed quite a bit! The fact that I’m a kid who entered 6th grade 3 weeks ago makes me really happy ngl😁
I think there is a fundmental problem with this test. There are people who can read at level 10 speed, but the way they do it is by reading multiple words with a single glance. By showing one word at a time readers such as those won't be able to make full use of their skills.
Also when reading a book or any document, the words are inside the sentence which makes a complete situation that this. We process the next word from the previous word and everything we read before that so we may guess the next words/sentence. So books reading or movie subtitles may be much faster than this. Beside all of that, fit many words in a single frame a second is not fast reading.
I once got to 1200 words a minute but that's when you don't have to move your eyes but when you do you brain is focusing on different things. our brains are just like computers because it takes longer to do 2 things at the same time the 1 because you can read much faster at 100% than 50%. So making it be one paragraph on screen for a certain time is better than 1 word at a time.
I think most people can understand level 10 without necessarily reading it. I caught like 50% of the words, but I still know basically what was said. It was something like "No one can read this fast, if you say you can, you're lying or you must be super human, and have super powers." The brain is really amazing with the way it can process information and make solutions so quickly with no effort.
yeah same for me, not only peoples brain get a general idea of the meaning but it can recognise words from just the beginning or a small part if you have context.
It really depends on what you define as speed reading. Like many people have noticed, it's actually quite easy for even a bad reader such as myself to interpolate at 900 words per minute. In some ways it's actually easier to process. That last bit might just be my ADHD talking lmao
@@Mossy-Kat yeah well I also had another part of the test to determine my level, and I always get really nervous on those and screw up so it was probably part of that. They would ask you questions like what is the story about, what does this word mean, etc-

With level 10, I couldn't mentally "say" each of the words, but I subconsciously processed and interpreted everything I missed and got the meaning.

In case ur wondering why you can’t read at this speed when normally reading a book, you are capable of reading at a much faster pace when you don’t need to move your eyes
I am fan of Charles
Indeed
no wonder i could almost do level 10 lmao
because when you move your eyes, your vision blacks out for a small interval of time (unless your eyes are not normal), (the reason you don't see your vision blacking out is that your brain is a very good liar) so scrolling through books and capturing all of the words quickly is hard when your vision blacks out half of the time.
to test whether or not what i said is actually true or not: look in a clear mirror closely and move the direction of your eyes around a little. if i was lying, you would be able to see your eyes move around but if i was telling the truth, you would only be able to see the destination of your eyes when they move.
@@de_soot I've tried the mirror trick before and I kept trying to catch myself lacking, but my brain is never lacking.

I could read 9 and 10, just the last 3 words slipped through my mind
At level 9 and 10 I just didn't "hear" the words anymore in my head but the information still got transmitted into my brain. Very interesting feeling but I'm impressed by how many people here were able to read it. Humans really are great.
I was the same, although I started not being able to ‘hear’ it at 8.

My brain processed later by kinda remembering it
To make the test more accurate, common word combinations, like "for example," "such as," and "keep up with" should be displayed on a single screen, since a fluent reader can recognize these patterns as if they were one word.
Yep, fast readers pick out sentense patterns more than just reading words fast.
Also, having all the words displayed at the same time on a page allows for peripheral vision picking up on phrases and sentences, whereas displaying single words limits even faster reading.
your can change the speed of the vid
Same bro
Now this is what is interesting, due to the brain's ability to comprehend certain scentences without all of the owrds, or even words I was able to comprehend what was in level 10 without being able to read it, in fact around level 7 is where I stopped reading every single word but was still able to comprehend levels 8 and 9 fairly easily.

Reading on a screen (your computer, phone, etc) and not having to move your eyes around (or example follow a line with your eyes as you read) increases your reading speed! Chances are your reading speed is a little slower than the level you feel most comfortable at here. :)

@Zhanna Bundina yes
I read it easily till 9th
But 10th was a bit difficult
I managed to get to level 8 on 2x speed, I’m very proud of me self
Kinda fun, though. xD
I agree, I was able to reach level 8 easily and understand level 9 and 10. I'm familiar with speedreading techniques so that probably helped too.

Key here is to basically look at the words and not read it. As reading it means you have to pronounce it, and if you can't pronounce it, you will try to repronounce and you lose time. Just, rely on your vision, and storage inside your mind to read them.

As a person who won this challenge easily in 0.25% speed, I see this as an absolute win
