As a follow up, I received mine and got the opportunity to try them out a couple hours while mowing. I absolutely love these headphones. Prior to these I used my AirPod pro foe mowing. The AirPod pros needed turned up just about to max , especially mowing close to buildings. Even at the highest level I often had to back up the podcast to hear missed portions. The X4’ didn’t need turned up half way. I thought the music sounded great too.
I'm so happy you love the headphones. The noise cancellation is wonderful. Also, You can activate it and then turn on the podcasts and hear it perfectly next to builds and noisy environment. The music experience is amazing. You can also activate 360 reality audio which is an experience beyond what we know. In the box, you should have a ticket that provides 90 days of free access to great music providers with a nice collection of dedicated music to 360 reality audio.
@@Wacharis I think a lot of it boils down to the earpiece fit. I have the latest addition of AirPod pros and they’re very compatible. Both brands are top notch in their category.

I had the previous model. Imagine my surprise when trying to connect the XM4 headphones to my computer, it doesn't work just by turning the headphones on (like in XM3). This tutorial is very helpful, straight to the point and precise! Thank you! I also liked to learn about the app, and now I think things will be a little easier because I can have the headphones connected to two devices at the same time. That's something I never had thought could work or even be possible.

On the top of each ear cup is a slot, do you know what those are for? Also, when I use the app to manage my settings, the ones for the equalizer don't stay when I set them. For example. These are great questions! These headphones are amazing, and they so many features you should know about to make the most out of the headphones. 1. When you say slots on top of each cup, I believe you mean to the microphone with a rounded shape located on top of each cup (beneath SONY'S logo). These Noise canceling function microphones , they pick up the sound of the noise surrounding you and electronically reduce the background noise. This works when you activate the noise-canceling function. 2. the equalizer inside the SONY app has built profiles like boost, speech, etc. If you they adjust these profiles, they would reset to their default settings just like you experienced. If you want to adjust your own settings, apply them to profiles: custom 1 and custom 2. Even if you close the app or turn on or off your headphones, your setup will be saved.

Thank you for sharing with us your issue. To optimize the noise cancellation to achieve the best results I recommend you the following steps: 1. On the left side of headphones press the custom button to start the noise-canceling optimization process, it analyzes your ear shape how the headphones are laid on your ears. Also every time you change your haircut or wear any accessory on your head and as a result, it changes the way headphones are set on your ears. I recommend repeating the process for the best result. 2. Install SONY App, and connect it to your headphones. Then from the sound tab, you will find ambient control, there you can customize the level of the noise-canceling compare the background noises. 3. From the system tab make sure the Voice detection is disabled. When it is activated it stops the noise canceling. Please let me know if it works or if you still experience any issue

When I listen to voice-over and video recording, they sounded almost similar, but since I started using SONNY XM4, the sound became very clear and easy to recognize the difference. So by far, XM4 headphones made my editing process much easier. *Is there any input lag?* I'm using Bluetooth connection all the time, and so far, I have never experienced any input lagging. From the big research I made about these headphones, the main reasons you are not going to experience input lagging. Just bought mine and I feel like the ANC is very very weak and idk if this is just how they are or if they are broken, for some context I have air pods pro and their ANC is way better so I'd like to know what kind of noises is it supposed to cancel and if they don't cancel what u said, please also say what can I do.

Compare to headphones Air pads and even on budget eraphones are inserted much dipper inside our ears, they lowering down the noise very well and even muting some noises. XM4 muting very well low to mid ranges noise. But it doesn't mute all the Higher mid range to high noises. Xm4 lowering down the level of the noise so well that our brain can filter this out and ignore it. This is what helped me to survive all the renovations my neighbors were doing during the COVID.. My advice to is to active the noise canceling customization the make sure its adjusted the best for your ears. And try to play with level of the ambience, see what work the best for you. And if its doesn't meet your needs maybe you should consider returning them back. I hope it will help you , I wish you the best of all 🌟

Luckily the ear cups are covering the ears so well they already isolate some noise very well. But if you are surrounded by very noise that is not going to be enough. I just bought these for nearly £300. It says connected to Bluetooth but I can hear the music outside the headphone when I have them off I played music and you can hear the music????

Hi, can you please check and share that the 4-band aux cable works with Sony 1000XM4 microphone. Aux with the headphones is a 3-band aux and doesn't work. @LevinsGraphics
I'm not sure the 4 band aux, but i have 4 band aux that splits into to connectors, one for the headphone and second for microphone. And it works perfectly fine.

I just got the xm4 and for me it's the opposite. with the AirPods pros, at 75% it's louder than the xm4's at full volume
