Is it considered "multi point" if only one device is connect via bluetooth at a time? (TV or phone) I'm just wondering because of the drop in audio quality
Hi. wanted to know a little more about how speak to chat works in a audio/video call. does it also unmute the microphone allowing you to speak and then mute it once you are done talking?
Hi! Speak to Chat is a really helpful feature for music listening. Being designed specifically for music listening, it may not work as well for you during video calls since it will pause/mute the audio when you begin speaking. For this application, it would probably work better for you either temporarily disable speak to chat or change it to manual in the Sony app settings. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.

Hey there. Great video. A quick question. How do I switch between 2 devices - say laptop and my phone - manually? Eg, is there a button or gesture that enables me to switch whenever I want to or am I restricted to auto switching when there's an incoming phonecall??
(The OnePlus buds Z have a button wherein I can double tap and switch between devices as per my choice)

Absolutely. This is done manually using a button to toggle it on/off as needed. But you can also set this to be automatic based on Location or even Behavior-based. How do I make it so my headphones don't just focus on the call, and focus on the game volume too?
So if I'm playing a game and I call someone, I can hear the game volume as well as the call.
Hey i bought the headphones and i have two questions:
1. When i am using auxilary cable with my Xbox One, the Microphone isnt working. How can i active it?
2. Also on my Computer (yes i know it has bluetooth connection device) i have the problem with the Microphone and the auxilary.

I dont think so but I think it's a good feature. So you know when to stop adjusting the volume on the headphones.

Hello, I have a question, is it normal that the power button feels more difficult to press than the custom button? I bought it recently and I don't know if that is a factory error or not.
It takes a few seconds of holding for the power button to turn them on/off so you accidently do not do it. Thanks for watching

I got the WF-1000XM4 awhile ago to use with my Android phone/travelling. I decided to get the WH-1000XM4 for hm laptop(pc) few days ago. I couldn't find anywhere to get the features which the Sony Connect App has for for my Android phone. Is there a way which I can use those features(fr Sonny Connect App) for my WH-1000XM4 on my laptop? Thank you!

Greeting Paul! Since the USB-C port is still exclusively for charging, the USB-C port cannot be used for audio. However, you still can plug in with the included headphone cable if you want. Serious question. I just got my Sony xm4
When sitting next to a fan and using noise cancellation and calling i get wind noise which doesn't happen when noise cancellation is disabled and it's like I'm hearing my surroundings through my mic.
When calling i get a lot of noise from outside like if i can hear the wind noise from the mic which doesn't happen when I'm not calling. I can hear my voice like a double voice when i activate inbuilt Alexa.
Is this happening with you too? Should I replace my headphones as i have 6 days left to do it.
Being near a fan will cause a noise in the headphones. We have not tried Alexa on them, but that sounds odd
Hey I found a really cool feature, by using 2 or 3 fingers and doing a tap and hold anywhere on the touch surface, you can turn speak to chat on and off.

I'm just a curious person about ANC in earbuds and headphones.
It amazed me how we as a human can develop such intricate things yet user friendly.
It shows me that if we don't waste a lot of time, we can come out something that can be useful to humanity.
And for that, I thrive to improve myself in my own little bubble world

It's safe to charge the headphones with a iPhone charger and iPhone cable 5v or what charger should be properly to charge it?
I tried to charge it with a fast charger 18v from apple, and the headphones get a little warm, i unplugged right away.
I suggest getting an Anker fast charger 20w. It has “active shield” so your phone or headphones don’t get to hot bc of the higher wattage. I use this for my iPhone 12 and XM4’s. Seems to do the trick👍
Hey, I just bought the XM4 last month. I really like the sound, build and everything. But recently, after 2-3 noise cancelling optimization, i feel like the ANC effect is really low, like i can hear my keyboard while typing, clock ticking and neighbor's dog barking while the ANC is on and no music is playing. Is this how it is? Or, is something wrong with my device? Would appreciate if you could reply.

Does anyone know if you can listen to music with the 3.5 mm cable when they are *off* so that they don’t consume any battery?
Some context: I hate wearing my Sennheiser PXC550 all day at home only to go for a walk at night and find out battery ran out during the day. This happens because they automatically turn on when you flip them open. It is impossible to use them while they are off, and battery drains when they are on, *even* if both Bluetooth and noise canceling are off and I’m using them with the 3.5 cable. I would like to use my headphones at home with the cable while they are off so that at night they are full charge (or whatever charge they had left at the beginning of the day).

If you want to use the audio cable (for say, an old MP3 player that doesn't have bluetooth connectivity, is the audio quality just as good or is it poor?)
Whenever the stereo miniplug is used, it means the digital signal is getting converted to an analog signal and this usually results a less "pure" audio signal since it is being changed. Most people wouldn't notice the difference, but if you want the best audio quality, we recommend keeping the signal chain completely digital whenever you can, so there is no conversion in the signal path. I mean, does it just pass through the analog signal to the speakers? Can I turn the headphones off while listening through the 3.5mm cable (not through Bluetooth)? Great question! The headphones do support Multipoint Connectivity which means you can connect two devices over Bluetooth at once. With this, you can automatically pause the music playing on your laptop and switch to an incoming call on your phone without removing your headphones or fumbling with Bluetooth settings. When you end the call, the music on your laptop will resume. This works with other devices too, so you can Bluetooth with your TV, switch to your phone, and then back to your TV again, automatically. when i am watching youtube and then switch to let´s say SoundCloud, it plays the sound from the phone speakers and not the headphones although i can still control anything else through the right cup, and then i have to disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth on my mobile to get the SoundCloud working again. how can i fix this problem. is it possible to use usb-c to connect to PC for a zoom meeting and as such? or USB-C only allows charging?
The Sony XM4's USB-C port only supports charging. However, the XM4s do have an input that will accept a 3.5mm stereo miniplug cable, and they also come with this headphone cable in the box. So, this will work great for zoom meetings. But, if you are shopping for a noise canceling headphone with a USB-C port capable of both charging the headphones and passing hi-res audio through the wired connection for zoom meetings and music, then the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 and the new Mark Levinson № 5909 are excellent options. It’s important to note, Mark Levinson and B&W are the few who make the USB-C port capable of both charging and passing hi-res audio through their wired USB-C connections. Since many people will be using these on the go with their phone or a laptop that no longer includes a 3.5mm jack, we see the USB-C audio cable as an added convenience for those wanting the best audio quality from their laptops. I have this device and it is paired to my android phone .
While I get the incoming music from the phone and apply noise cancellation on headphone, the cancellation and incoming music turns off after sometime and I have to press power button again on the headphone to get the device operational.
Any ideas how to address this please?
Something is wrong, the Sony's should not do that, they will normally turn on and work for in noise cancelling mode only for about 10 minutes without being paired. But you have to be paired to play music, unless you are using wired. We suggest you contact the dealer you purchased them from.

Why doesn’t fast forward and rewind work on an iPhone? I’m paired to Bluetooth only on this iPhone. I’ve tried with a few music services and it never works. I’ve been trying to find this answer, but haven’t come across it yet.

Hi How to mute - unmute the calls?
If the Xm4 kept wired to my PC, will the audio be high quality same as it is in stereo Bluetooth mode? Sorry if this question seems silly because I'm not very good with techs and I bought this to use on PC.
Typically, wired should sound better than bluetooth.

It depends on the plane. If there is a small display in the seat in front you will need the cable that comes with them. If it is via WiFi and you use a tablet then you can Bluetooth to your tablet. Thanks for watching

I got everything except the “dashboard”, whatever it is. I downloaded “file manager: as suggested in the box and got the offer to purchase the damn thing. I am at a point, the earphones are not yet paired, when I want to check the whole thing in the recycling bin.

Hi! Is there anything I can do to have full noise cancelling on and not have horrible pressure feeling/pain in my ear drums/canal, as well as jaw and sinus!? It’s insane I know. But I am sad. I was soooooo excited to purchase these. The noise relief brought tears of joy. But the I realized I might be one of the few that can’t tolerate the Frequency of the ANC. I wore them for about 4hrs the first day and 8 hours or so the second day. And now I can’t wear them more than 15mins without feeling my ears will bleed. And this is on the lowest setting volume. And sometimes with no news or audio or music at all. Just ANC for relief of external noises. And just can’t do it…. Are there any recommendations??? Or would I have to set it to lower ANC? Which to me defeats the purpose of what I need them for. And if no options is there another product you might recommend to help with NC!? I had older style ear buds before but just like ear plus even they were damaging and making my ears sore too. :( @audio advice

The Personal Noise-canceling Optimization feature takes a series of readings inside and outside your headset for noise-cancellation that’s dynamically tailored for you and your surroundings. This feature helps balance the atmospheric pressure and reduces the “sucking” effect that’s typical in noise canceling headphones and generally can be adjusted in the app. We're sorry to hear you are experiencing with your headset, but we may need more information about your setup to better understand how to troubleshoot further if this information does not resolve your issue. Which AC adaptor do you recommend for this device ?
Hi Garry. The Sony WH-1000XM4 comes with a short USB Type-A to USB-C charging cable that will let you charge the headphone from a laptop's USB port. So, any standard smartphone charger with a USB-A port that connects with the included cable will charge the XM4's sufficiently. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

They must be loosing the Bluetooth connection to your phone somehow.

Just a quick question. My power button is harder to press than the custom button, and also doesn’t do a click sound. Is this an intentional design choice, or is mine faulty?
Just tested a XM3 we had around, it felt the same as the other buttons. Sorry, we don't have a pair of the XM4 at the moment.
