- With a full set of coupling rods fitted, it was possible to move No. 2007 Prince of Wales as an eight-coupled locomotive for the first time, the locomotive being gently rolled to and fro inside Darlington Locomotive Works.
So great to witness the first of millions of revolutions for this set of running gear! High praise and congratulations to the project!
So exciting! Can only dream of seeing it person once completed, and I’ll be bringing my P2 with me!
Fancy seeing you here! P2's really coming along isn't she
Fantastic! Looking forward to seeing 2007 in steam!
Historic moment in railway history!
That is a beautiful piece of engineering. Well done everyone.
Wow, can't wait to see it rushing along the main line!
Awww it’s learning to roll , baby steps , how cute
Moving very slowly there but that means the Prince is definitely making good progress
Beautiful piece of kit. Can't wait to see the finished product!
Yes! Excellent.
And now I can’t wait to see the steam providing that movement
To think that a Locomotive exists in the UK, and I am loving the project
????? DID YOU GO TO HISTORY CLASS OR DID YOU NOT-
She isn't the only one you know. We have a couple hundred.
That is a wonderful sight!
Can’t wait to see this belting around the network.
amazing
It’s alive It’s Alive!
(But Not Just Yet I would love to see prince of wales in full steam)
Excellent well done.
Now that’s some serious BLING!
Looks mainline ready to me
Link of paint and it will be ready haha 😄 😆
Not sure if you’re joking or not..
@@overpoweredsteamproduction513 no no we're deadly serious,
haha no we were joking, its no where near ready yet.
@@CustomiZe_ I guessed so, but I have encountered some pretty stupid people.
Well that was a right teaser ..... 🤣👏
Come on lets be having a proper update please!
Your wish is granted!
@@thep2steamlocomotivecompan19 Ah yes so I see .... That is some piece of engineering right there. Well done.
Takes me back to Swindon Works where I did part of my engineering apprenticeship in the mid '60s.
all it needs now is a boiler that works
This is just going down hill from here probably by the end of the year rhis magnificent beast of steel is coming back from the dead and begin steaming tests
More more more videos please 🙏🏻
YEAH LETS GET DIS ON THE RAILS
Wooooo, yay.....but at what cost....
I think they were "side rods" in LNER-speak, but "coupling rods" in BR-speak.
More!
Oooooo well im thinking your makeing an old steam train and im proud of ya
**New**
Why new
I dident mean new
New are the diesels
@@SAYVARELO New steam train
YEEES
Pleasepleaseplease!!! Don't paint it right away. Because I want to see all that Shiny Polished Steel rolling in unity and harmony. For the first test runs and on the first several excursions. Then paint it. Then change every few years from LNER Green. To B.R. Garter Blue. Also like SILVER LINK!! OK 👍!! THANK YOU!! GOD BLESS THE QUEEN ON HER 70TH ANNIVERSARY!!!!! ALLELUIA!!!!! AMEN 🙏.
Ummm…..interesting of course but, is 16 seconds the limit to what was deemed worth putting on RUclips? How about a walk around showing the progress on everything that’s happening ? Have been considering unsubscribing on account of lack of updates and content, if this is the best you can do… I will check back in another year and see what ? …a couple more very short videos . 😕
I totally agree with this comment. And I’ve also commented myself about the opportunity being literally thrown away to get more interest and thus more. funding. I’d rather give donations to a lesser project where people actually make an effort that these lot can’t be bothered to.
We are addressing the video issue, there will be a fuller update once we can get the locomotive on rollers for a proper chance to turn the wheels. The Works building is very short!!
@@wexfordwaster7423 - if you would like to volunteer for the job I am sure we'd be happy to interview you. Remember that the majority of roles in the Trust a filled by volunteers and we are actively looking for someone in the Darlington area who can fulfil this role. I can assure you that we make plenty of "effort" in other directions.
@@thep2steamlocomotivecompan19 Sometimes things are posted in the internet which in hindsight are not the cleverest or the most helpful. And in hindsight my comment last night could have been phrased (significantly) better - I accept that.
I had thought that the previous upload about the P2 Convention - which was just the job - was going to be the start of something new from P2 Locomotive Co in terms of upload quality and thus felt really frustrated that this really short U-Tube clip was just a step backwards to earlier uploads, one of which I had already commented on. So I’m glad that the issue of improving P2 Loco’s U-Tube channel is being addressed - it’s bound to bring in subscribers and thus cash.
As I’ve said before, this doesn’t need to be brilliant. The Festiniog Railway stuff is now a very high standard (it wasn’t always) and there’s a great series on The Steam Workshop channel on the restoration of 2’ gauge Fowler (which could be a model format of future P2 uploads). But even just an unscripted I-Phone upload works - see Rick at the Youngstown Steel Heritage (probably the ugliest locos in preservation) - sometimes he talks too long, but it is interesting and fine to watch.
So I’m glad that P2 Locomotive Company is looking for someone to help. But why not say so on U-Tube? And I’d love to be that person, but I don’t even live in the UK. And I’ve just come back from spending this morning at a heritage project locally and will be back there Saturday.
Best wishes
