- This is Uncle Ben's voice mail to Peter from the Amazing Spider-Man, giving him yet another lecture about life and stuff. Wish they gave me a monologue like this.

Three years ago I lost my grandfather, he was the most important male figure in my life and I really looked up to him. He and my grandmother helped raise me similar to how Peter was raised by Uncle Ben and Aunt May. After his death I was left heartbroken even though he had been in and out of the hospital for years up until then. I decided to escape for a few hours and popped this movie into my DVD player. When it got to this scene, I broke down crying. Say what you will about the Andrew Garfield movies, they had their moments and this was one of those that made the movie.
I just lost mine this year. So i know how you feel. He was also my last grandparent.
He would be proud. Keep on living. He would want that. Nothing can stop you. He will never truly leave you ever.
I’m so sorry for your loss I lost my grandfather too he raised me like a son and I understand what you’re going through and I’m sorry 😞

I lost my grandma and became bitter but my friends and family helped me and when i could get over it. this felt like she was telling me its okay you can move on
No lie, whenever im feeling down I listen to this speech, its so good.
Anybody else keep coming back to hear this and pretend it’s for them because your own parental figures don’t give you words of affirmation like this? Been doing it for years now

What Uncle Ben said in that movie made me think the same thing for me.......... but the one thing I do, is to never give up your life, keep going, and trust yourself that you can do it.

I come back here a lot because I relate to peter Parker more than anyone I can imagine. And I come back because I’ve been put through a ringer. I was in the army hoping to use that money to build a life with the woman I love. I came back home to find she cheated on me and we were finished. I had nothing. And sometimes I still feel like I have nothing. This was only a couple months ago but to anyone going through this pain and heart break and whatever else ails you, it gets better. You have that strength in you to push through these bad things and get back on that horse and ride again. You’re strong and I know it. I may be some random guy on the internet but just know I hope you get through this, so put on that spider suit and keep swinging because we’re all Spider-Man and we all have a responsibility to ourselves to keep moving forward. Be strong and stay strong. Keep swinging. 🕷

Uncle Ben was truly like a father to Peter and loved him like a father.
This voicemail makes me cry. I still listen to my grandmom’s voicemail, whenever I want to hear her voice.
My parents were fighting at 4am and I just started crying and just put my earphones and listened to this and the grandpas words helped me ❤️

To me this is a really dark Spider-Man

Screw The people who called this Garbage I grew up little with Toby Spider-Man, and my teen years with Andrew Spider-Man and now almost 20 and living with Tom Spider-Man. I love all Spider-Man but Andrew had something that made me love this Spider-Man, maybe in the future if they do a spider verse crossover in live action maybe they could finish The amazing Spider-Man with the third film 🎞.

There’s just something special about this movie especially the voicemail. Every time I hear it, it makes me cry and I think it’s just something we all need to hear from time to time.

My sister was arrested because she was accused of killing her bf but apparently it was a suicide but the whole time I was trying to comfort everyone but some how they all turned this into me so my dad got physical with me granted I’m 19 so he came up behind me and I was quick to put my arms around his neck, but what sad is how I’m not perfect but I try my best but no matter what I’m a pos to them and they all come at me but it’s cool because this scene is so amazing I can’t help but cry and wish my dad was like uncle Ben. But sadly he isn’t. I came here for answers, I was questioning if I should let the hate take over or fight through and smile until the darkness fades and it’s so hard after doing it for my whole life now that I just want to give up and leave everyone behind and start a new life or possibly the other way out but the message in this scene is really strong that I feel I have to keep going for uncle ben

Honestly, tasm 2 was pretty bad. But tasm 1 was actually pretty good
I want to like this, but the fucking skateboard scene takes me out of it. I kinda liked the first movie, but I really dislike how Peter in this is some weird amalgamation of all things a teenager should be and like. It feels so focus-group-tested and less Peter Parker.
If you think about it this is super stupid. Who says this when trying to get their child to come home?
If you look at their last conversation before Peter left, it makes sense yk. And well Ben knew deep down, Peter needed a sense of closure. He lost both of his parents and that creates a void.
