OUTSTANDING!!! Your comment "Perseverance and Courage" definitely encouraged my Mom & I as she & I diy makeover our home that my Grandad designed & built over 58 years ago for my Grandmom. Thank you.....Mom knows how to do the work, but Grandad (her diy partner) passed away 8 yrs ago & Mom's confidence in diy (ing) took a hit. Thank you, again....I've shown your video to Mom & she appreciated the renewal of courage to "just do it".
I know I will never do 95% of what you do but it is still so inspiring! What an amazing job!
"Perseverance and courage is all it takes ... " you've got them in spades - well done
I am a DIY myself who has watched thousands of RUclips videos for help and inspiration; this is the most impressive one I have seen. Beautiful in every way.
Great choice in removing the latex rubber paint. Lots of work and kudos to you for doing it right.
What a beautiful job. That house looks like it's straight from the cover of
"Better Homes Garden". You are amazing. I picked up so many tips from watching this video. Ang yes, it's easy to see how much work went into this huge project.
This chick is friggin fearless.
Melissa, you are a superwoman! The jobs you have tackled were scary and complicated for a beginning DIY individual, but your determination, research, and talent got you to the finish line on the exterior. It looks soooo inviting now! Looking forward to other projects!
Yay fellow Minnesota gal! I have been doing similar remodeling (sometimes with my husband ) in Florida. Now after 20+ yrs and 5 houses I am 68 Yrs old and not doing them any longer. I get exhausted watching you, 😆 I can however, handle decorative projects like 3D tiles on walls. Great Job 🎉🎉
That retaining wall is awesome! 👏👏👏
Your husband is lucky to have someone as fearless and Beautiful as you!! I live in a house that has cedar siding and after it was painted not to long ago it started pealing. From what i found, you have to use special cedar primer or latex primer because cedar releases tannins which causes paint to peel off. I never thought of staining, thats brilliant!!
Omg that’s soooooo hard!!!! Your size and strength is AMAZING! Such tanacity, and so much energy!
It looks soooo Beautiful!
You go girl you can do anything you want to ! I'm proud you !
Melissa is Superwoman. She, once again, took on a massive makeover and achieved perfection. In her spare time she managed to take care of her own beautiful home and a house full of kids. I wish I had half as much of her energy and determination.
I love you .. I have 15 years experienced. But u did a good job .. God bless you .
Amazing work Melissa. So happy for you to have come this far in your skills and confidence, keep up the great work 👍🏼
Thanks for taking the time for this compilation vlog -- it is truly AMAZING the progress you have made and AWESOME choices you picked in creating such a cool new/old home. So many people i know would have never even seen the "vision" that you had for this place before you bought it -- you are proving how important "the location" of a new home can be because the structure in the right location can become a wonderful "nest". Plus if you resold it now it would be valued so much higher.
You can be very proud of yourself with the wirk you have done. Great to see women doing this kind of DIY and shows that anyone can make anything if they want to and out their mind to it.
Great job Melissa!
Wow! When you first show the new paintjob on the house. I was like WOOhh that's a lot of grey. However after seeing the decor, and everything you did after the paint. I can honestly say that you're house, OMG! What a difference! It looks amazing!! Well done as usual! Great work is something I tend to expect from this channel!! Thanks for the great content! Take care
I felt the same way after the paint and got nervous, but I love how it turned out in the end
Dang, you get after it lady, very impressive.
God bless you! The World needs more strong and motivated people (women especially) like you.
All I can say is you go girl !!!! Your vision and determination is awesome your end results is above and beyond if you want something done do it yourself you did it I know you can look back and smile
She def meant extreme and she's a keeper!
You are inspirational! Now I am more motivated to tackle some of the bigger projects in my home
Amazing job! I'm working on a renovation right now too and I learn cool stuff and get ideas every time I watch one of your videos! Love it!
Wow. You did all that by yourself and alone too. Its impressive and I do this for a living 🤣
Awesome job. We need to do similar to our house and tackling it extremely slow.
That looks amazing! Really nice job, and the colors look a TON better than the old ones.
Your work is second to none may God continue to bless you .Bottom line
Great transformation~From the front it looks like a very low profile house, but from the back you can see it's quite large with upstairs. Really amazing and interesting home! Great job with it all!

Absolutely stunned by the transformation Melissa, well done!
Impressive! You go girl!
Awesome video as always. I've been doing general Electrical Work for over 30 years though I'm not a Licensed Electrician, I am very skilled. One of the first things I learned is what wire to connect first and that is the Ground Wire or Bare Wire. Followed by the White and of course last but not least the Black Wire. Reason being you want to always connect the ground first to give the Electric a place to go, other than through you, should the circuit be live for whatever reason. I'm sure your circuit was off but it's always better to be safe than sorry. I've been hit from circuits that I knew were off, but because of prior DIYERs simply mixing wires, that they thought they knew what they were doing, apparently didn't know.
When you connected the Black Wire first your body could be used as a ground, if it was hot you could have been hit with 110/120, not deadly but will wake you up and possible cause you to fall from the ladder as you jump for joy from the shock. Glad to see all turned out well. Electric is like the Circle of Life, what comes around goes around, and the last thing anyone wants to do is become part of that Circuit.
I've seen electrical work, again completed by the not so smart, that was simply terrifying; and I mean worse than the original Michael Myers or Texas Chain Saw Massacre movies and I'm here to say that sight gave me nightmares. It was in a Garage and only a single 30 Amp Circuit which combined 10, 12, and 14 gauge wire when it should have only contained 10 gauge wire. There was only the single 30A Breaker in the main house and a single wire ran out to the garage to a Junction Box, then all sorts of nasty connected from there.
A combination of electrical tape, wire nuts and whatever else they used, made me think constantly how has this garage not burned down years ago. In another spot they used a Bare Ground Wire as the White Wire to an outside Light that was not water sealed in any way, shape or form but clearly I digress... Luckily the wire from the house to the garage was 10 gauge wire. I proposed a solution to the home owner and they agreed that a Subpanel was best. I was able to use the original wire from the house to the garage and install a Subpanel in the Garage. This allowed for 2 30A Circuits, or 2 double pole 30A Breakers, one in the House and the other in the Garage, to safely feed the garage with a 220V circuit. I didn't have the means to only connect a single 30A Double Pole but the benefit to be able to turn off the electric from the Basement or Garage was an advantage; and the 30A double pole didn't cost a lot so excessive cost wasn't an issue. Nothing in the garage required 220V but now it was possible should they get something in the future that required 220V. I ran several 15 and 20 Amp Circuits to safely feed the garage and even single runs for the Fridge and Window AC. No more dimming of the lights when the Fridge kicked on and now it's possible to have AC in the garage; something they couldn't do before.
Again great video. Anyone looking to do their own Electric just remember GROUND WIRE FIRST, followed by White, then push all the wires into the box then connect the Black Wire and gently press it on top of the other wires; that's by far the best way to stuff a box with Wire... Kidding of course, never overstuff an electrical box... I look forward to your next video...
Melissa you are an inspiration! You do good work kid! I love the color you picked for the exterior! The house looks welcoming!
Glad you didn't give up...the house looks absolutely amazing..!! 👋👋👋
wow this is actually really good work. nice job
wow! Not only you're beautiful, but you are also hard-working woman. Your DIYs are very good.
A super job done by you ,well done, its beautiful 😍
I need to do some similar siding pulling/replacement myself - this gives me a better idea of what to expect. Thanks.
Hi Melissa,
You are an amazingly hard worker
With a great mindset
A lot of sweat and tears went into this reno...and it was well worth it. Can't wait til the next vid!
So talented!
It looks great! The only thing I saw that should have been done was to put down a landscape fabric, then your drain pipe, rock, and then cover the rock with landscape fabric before the dirt is applied. In time, the dirt will just plug up the rocks. You did cover the pipe, which is good. Protecting the rock in a drainage situation is the best.
But other than that, it was a great renovation, my hats off to you.
You are rockstar! Looks amazing!
So beautiful, great job ❤️

Hi Melissa, great job
Just started watching great work 😊❤keep it up !👏
You have 4 children and a husband to take care of and you can do all this. If I had just half of your Gumption I could of finished my Honey Do List years ago. You are amazing.
Everything looks beautiful! You did such an excellent job!
Wow so amazing!!!💪🏿
You should be proud. You did a great job. 😁
The grey color scheme is nice. Def agree the counter space was more useful than the door. Would like to point out that cedar siding is nice, not bad, and that the old paint was peeling because the previous owners didn't give the siding a few days to dry out after pressure washing like you did (evidenced by the raised grain from pressure washing and peeling paint from painting a damp wood). The retaining wall is nice though I'd put the new finish grade of the gravel a few inches below the siding (for snow and heavy rains when moisture rises). Lastly as a general carpenter it's in my opinion that you do some very impressive work in doors and cabinets, and with trim as well I would assume. And that you do as solid a job as anyone when doing the rough carpentry. You mentioned not caulking the plywood anymore but also you don't want to tape the horizontal seams of your vapor barrier as it's meant to breathe through those seams. But like you said there's no need to contract out the exterior jobs like patching holes where doors once were. You got skills to put a lot of paid personnel to shame but it's important to be mindful of the fact that the dwelling rots and returns to the earth without constant intervention. Meanwhile raising a child right perpetuates itself for an untold number of generations. Suggestion: when the kids get old enough to help, let them, even though it slows progress on the immediate project, humanity needs and you will benefit from, children being raised in a nurturing environment. PS Keep up the good work
You can surely be very proud of your job !!! Can’t wait to what you will do with the inside ! 👍😎🐕🦺🐾
Have you seen my kitchen makeover yet? ruclips.net/video/Cl0v6uM3Mmo/видео.html I'm working on the living room next!
@@WelcometotheWoodsBlog yes of course !!! I am curious to see what you will do with the livingroom. Are you inlaws moving in soon ?
Great job!
Definitely earned my subscription with this one!
Love it . I had to do some work like that around the house . You inspired me to start . Love the colors also
So very proud of you, great Job!
Awesome job, love the colour schemes.
Good Job!
Great work love the colours you chose.
This looks AMAZING!!! Ever find yourself just looking at the before and after photos? I do that a lot with my projects. Lol
Jolie travail ...
Bravo
🤙
Beautiful job....I love the colors !
Great job! My only suggestion woul dbe to replace anything wood, i.e. soffit, with Azek or other composite. So many products are water/rot proof. Woods great but doesn't stand the test of time.
Danke!
Looks amazing....
