    Very helpful, I was trying to record off my Commodores CRT in my last video, didn't go well... and I already have an Elgato HD60S so I'll try one of these adapters!

      I hope this works well for your situation. It was definitely the best of the options I tried.

    I have the same set up. Breaking it down and setting it back up is such a pain.
    I almost always forget how I set it up.
    Man. There has to be a better way for us

      I have a composite to USB capture device but this has much better quality. I agree it is a lot of cobbling together wires.

    Hi RickMakes is there any way to make an HD capture using the composite video in of the elgato game capture HD? I mean without using an external av to cdmi scaler? Thanks!

    • @Rickmakes

      My model of game capture doesn't have composite input. I think some of the older models do.

    Is it me or on the av to hdmi converter the colors look a little darker ?

    I have a question.
    I have the same set up as you, but everytime I set allow 60fps it makes my recordings off sync. The sound effects always seem off to the visual effects as well as some lag.
    If I uncheck allow 60fps I get perfect flawless recordings. But at 30fps. With improved quality due to the rca to hdmi.
    I'm not sure if this is something wrong with the rca to hdmi box or if somethings wrong with my settings. I have the same as you other than 720p, although I have tried it with 1020p and it's the same.
    Laptop meets the required specs and was working perfectly fine previously with just the composite from the box but obviously I wanted a upscale in quality, so got the rca to hdmi. But now I cannot have the allow 60fps box checked without seriously messing with the syncing. And I'm pretty sure I'm losing clarity because of this. (Washed out colours)

      I'm no expert but all these games were designed to run at 30 hz. Forcing a capture at 60 I could see where this could cause sync issues with audio but I'm no expert. Good luck with your capturing.

    Very informative! Any chance of showing this method off with a super nintendo?

      Unfortunately I don't have a Super Nintendo. I don't think I have ever played the original one. :( I do have the Super Nintendo Classic but that already has HDMI out.

      If you have HDMI Capture, you can record the NES with this: Musoc Composite to HDMI Adapter: @t (Amazon affiliate)

    Any input lag with one of these? I can't find the video cable for the OG HD might have to get one of these instead for composite.

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  Год назад

      There is latency. I have tested a number of adapters and I haven't found one with zero latency. I think most discerning people would notice the lag.

    After you play a game using elgato HD, are you able to save it as a file on your computer? Or how else do you upload it?

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  Год назад

      Yes. When you record with the Elgato, it saves the file to your hard drive. You can then edit and/or upload it.

      Are you using the Musoc Composite to HDMI Adapter with an Elgato Game Capture? I would try a different HDMI device to make sure your Game Capture is working. Then I would try a different composite output device to make sure the adapter is working. An old VCR, Nintendo Wii, etc... would work for this. You could also try swapping the audio and video cables on both ends to rule out the cable.

    I have Elgato hd game capture but my nes sounds only on one ear (mono). Do you know how to solve this?

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  3 года назад +1

      The NES only outputs mono. You need to get a cable to connect the mono output of the audio to the stereo input of the composite adapter. Something like this: amzn.to/3bexoP6
