That's how Wade sees the world normally, he experiences things from his broken head as if they were real, when he looks at other characters he sees them differently, for instance in his mind Rogue is a cactus that wears a cowboy hat, in his eyes the world is a cartoon full of cartoon characters, even colours are brighter like a cartoon. He sees his dirty apartment like a secret lair with high tech equipment, Fury and other heroes calling him on an imaginary computer to praise his last mission or beg him to join their team, he lives in his own universe. Sam in Gen V has the same issues, he sees people as hand puppets but only when he loses control, Wade is never in control of his mind, that's what makes him so unpredictable, Taskmaster has said that his insanity and unpredictability is what makes him the most lethal hand-to-hand fighter in the MCU. Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe Again is a storyline that has Wade manipulated by Dr. Doom and various other bad guys to kill other heroes, a lot of it is seen from Wade's broken-headed perspective, it's like a bad acid trip.
The woman on Wade's shirt is the late Golden Girls star Bea Arthur. In the comics, Wade LOVES Bea Arthur, and was genuinely outraged when she isn't awarded Sexiest Woman Of The Year. In order to get permission to use her image in the movie, Ryan Reynolds personally asked Bea's family, who gave their approval on the condition that Ryan gave money to her estate's charity. He donated $10,000. And yes, those are actual IKEA products. IKEA agreed to have their products mentioned in the movie as long as they weren't portrayed negatively (and I think they also insisted that their products' names were pronounced accurately.) The humor comes from the fact that they're having Al - a blind woman - attempting to assemble it as she and Wade have a trivial discussion about their IKEA preferences. The budget was surprisingly modest because Fox initially had no intention of making a Deadpool movie after the character's appearance in the disapppointing X-Men Origins: Wolverine was lambasted by fans for its poor portrayal of Deadpool. But in 2014, a piece of CGI test footage made by Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds for a proposed Deadpool solo movie was leaked online and went viral. The overwhelmingly positive response from fans to the footage ultimately convinced Fox to greenlight the production, though they remained cautious by keeping the budget so low.
Goes to show how a limited budget can make for a better outcome. Apparently the 12 bullet fight was going to be a more traditional big shootout but they couldn't afford the effects, and the bullet countdown approach makes for a way funnier, original and more memorable scene. The generic and grossly expensive films getting pumped out by Marvel and Disney stand in such stark contrast.
You're not too far off the mark. In one Deadpool comic, Deadpool is described as looking like "Ryan Reynolds mixed with a Shar-pei." This happened to be the first Deadpool comic that Ryan ever read, and so he felt destined for this role.
Somewhere in 2005, I believe, I was talking to a friend of mine about the new Fantastic Four movie that was either out or coming out and we were speculating about other Marvel series coming to the cinema and who would play the characters. We both had several picks for various characters, but when Deadpool came up, we just said "the guy who played Van Wilder".
Disagree for a lot of reasons, and I'll say different from other's and not take away from them but is because Deadpool has only had one person play him in a movie so No Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool eww wtf were they thinking! Out of all the Hollywood A stars they pick a B rated star OMFG Hollywood does Suck! Someone brings back or make a SPAWN 2025 2026 Movie so this shi# can disappear as something special. DP2 was better I'll say only because of Cable and who he was in film compared to Deadpool and if you think different it's because you don't understand DEADPOOL has NO real major Enemies as what Cable does! and who Cable is! ah yeah Deadpool can't Die.....NOT...... 99 WAYS to die Deadpool comic was priceless 😂🤣😂🤣 I had to stop comeback retype GF made me which is a bigger fan of DP and say OMFG understood Shanelle but DP was never a part of X-Men EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! X-Force I'll give you. This is Hollywood small, minded thinkers that don't know or understand Comic Books, if you think different just go watch one of the X-Men film and tell me what time period there in besides what the movie saying the time period 😂🤣😂🤣going by the characters in said movie!?! that's 😉for the Fan Boys
43:32 --- YES.. The studio didn't think people were going to go for an R rated superhero movie. And yet, this was one of the ones we'd been waiting most of our lives for.
23:23 the best part of his search for Francis is he's asking if anyone knows where Francis is, but these other dudes only know him as Ajax so Deadpool is so messed up in the head he spent all this time asking them if they know Francis when they don't....
43:30 Yes they didn't think it was going to work. The bridge scene was drawn up and animated as a sales pitch and they didn't like it, but it somehow got leaked. Ryan says it might have been his with the comment "Mother doesn't know alot about computer's", as he can't admit he was the one leaking it. The clip got so much hype and so many people wanted to see it, and that changed the mind of the studios to give it a shot. If that leak hadn't happend this movie would not have been made, problibly. Ty for another great reaction and I hope you enjoyed the food.
What's funny is that in the comics, it's the other way around. Deadpool *DESPERATELY WANTS* to be an X-Man, he pesters their leaders, he wears X-Men hoodies and tells people he's an X-Man. While the X-Men don't want to have anything to do with the crazy murderous maniac, and they keep correcting him every time he says he's one of them. Once Wade called Cyclops on his cellphone... Deadpool: "Hey, Cyke, we have a situation, here..." Cyclops: "How did you get this number?" Deadpool: "HA! Funny. You always crack me up. But listen... there's something going on with one of the students..." Cyclops: "No, seriously. *How did you get this number?* " 😂
This movie will forever be in my heart for giving me the "LOOK! I'm a teenage girl, I'd rather be anywhere than here! I'm all about long sullen silences, followed by mean comments, followed by more silence! So what's it gonna be: long sullen silence or mean comment?" line to use on my daughters.
"How come Deadpool saw cartoons on Vanessa?" He had intense brain damage that his mutation was keeping him alive through but unable to heal due to the foreign object lodged in his brain 🤕 As for his strength - Deadpool is pretty strong, but 'maximum effort' involves using 100% muscle capability, which breaks his bones and tears his tendons 😅 to grant him temporary extra strength.
yeah, DP can basically bypass the brain's limitation on strength since he can always regenerate. any normal people punching Colossus would probably be in pain, but still be whole, because DP have no more limiter, he shattered his wrists and ankle. Since, compared to less angry Rosie O'Donnell who has super strength and a body able to withstand that strength, DP only has super regeneration
Delightful! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and I love that you have experience in filmmaking because it helps me appreciate it even more by seeing what you see. Now, you REALLY have to watch the sequel ASAP, not only because it's just as good (if not better), but because there are some callbacks. And also, if you thought the cable work in this movie was good, you're going to LOVE what they do with it in the sequel. I'm not joshing.
I worked at 20th Century Fox when this came out and saw a preview on the lot with the writers. They cheered ridiculously loudly when "the real heroes" showed up in the opening credits, it was pretty funny.
The Photo on Wade's shirt was Bea Arthur of the Golden Girls... Ryan paid good money for that placement. In the Comics, there IS a "Lady Deadpool"! DP2 is on par with this one!
No he was born with his healing ability that's why he was part of the mutant x program. The adamantium was added to his skeleton and claws@@SoCalMeerkat
technically speaking, Deadpool is a mutate rather than a mutant. Mutants typically express their powers around puberty, whereas Deadpool had his abilities done to him
You know, it always really bothered me that in the comics mutants gets so much more hate than other powered individuals. It actually doesn’t make a lot of sense that the public makes that kind of nuanced definition.
Fun Fact: Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld got the name from a Clint Eastwood movie called The Deadpool about an assassin killing celebrities in order to win a deadpool. A deadpool is a betting game where people try to guess which celebrities are going to die in a given year. Extra Fun Fact: The Deadpool features Guns & Roses as a famous rock band that Clint is assigned to protect from the deadpool killer, they used the money they made from the movie to produce their first album Appetite For Destruction which turned them into a famous rock band.
Are you sure? From what I understand, Liefeld "borrowed" the character's basic look from DC's anti-hero & assassin, Deathstroke. aka *_'Slade Wilson'_*
@@nicholashylton6857 The name "Deadpool" came from the movie, Rob was never known for having original thoughts, virtually every character he's ever created was "borrowed" then given shoulder pads, lots of pockets and guns the size of vehicles, and he still can't draw feet.
@@ll7868 What? Deadpool first appeared in comics back in 1990. His big screen debut was in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" in 2009. It's the movie where Tom Rothman ordered a complete redesign of the character - removing DP's costume & mouth, giving him swords in his arms, laser eyes, and teleportation powers. Ryan told the studio that fans would hate the changes, but they said he should quit if he wasn't going along with the new look. It's one of the most notorious examples of studio interference.
@ashylton6857 The Deadpool movie came out in 1988. When Rob was ripping off DC's Deathstroke to create Deadpool for his 1990 debut he needed a name, he got the name Deadpool from watching the movie. Rob Liefeld is a big Dirty Harry fan, big gun, and The Deadpool is the 5th and final movie in the series, he watched the movie and thought "The Deadpool...no, just Deadpool, that's the perfect name for an assassin character, much better than Stroker Ace!". Stroker Ace is a sports term for deliberately hitting someone in the crotch and not getting penalized for it, it's also the name of a Burt Reynolds NASCAR movie. When Deadpool hits a dude in the car crash scene he yells "NUTSHOT!", that's a Stroker Ace, he broke a cardinal rule of gentlemanly conduct and got away with it.
I saw that movie a long time ago as a kid, so I'm gonna have to google this, but wasn't Jim Carrey in it, in a small role as a member or lead singer of the rock band? (Edit) Google confirmed, he played rock star Johnny Squares, his first dramatic role.
The woman on his shirt in the beginning was Bea Arthur, one of Deadpool's canonical crushes. His other love interest was Death (actual, personified Death).
Funny thing about the opening fight scene was that it was the catalyst for the movie to be made. Because that scene was “leaked” onto RUclips and the audience made a big enough uproar that fox made the movie. And it’s the first R rated marvel movie
Nah, not the first R-rated marvel movie. That would be the Blade franchise which Ryan Reynolds also played a sword wielding hero in (Blade 3 I believe)
Valentine's Day date with the lady, late showing . One of the funniest parts of the movie was watching the families start to filter out after the intro and the mass exodus that ensued once the Calendar Girl scene started.
They worked the low budget in the plot in other ways. Wade "forgot" his duffle bag of guns for the final battle because they didn't have the FX budget for a huge gun battle. IIRC, TJ Miller ad-libbed most of he "Deadpool looks like" lines. They just picked out the ones they liked the most and put them in the movie. I think the cut lines scene is on RUclips. Angel Dust was played by Gina Carano, who later starred in The Mandalorian. I take it you didn't catch the reference to Green Lantern? "Don't make the uniform CGI, or green." Other works have broken the fourth wall. Blazing Saddles, for one. Also John Byrne's run on She-Hulk, which was repeated on the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series. In fact Byrne had Jennifer literally walking through comic book panel lines into the next panel, which the series later emulated. Deadpool 2 is just as good. Some of the meta jokes are arguably better. You should watch it ASAP!
30:46 Love how the final battle takes place alongside and on top of a decommissioned Helicarrier from the comics. For legal reasons they never reveal who owns it but it's fun world building for people who notice. For comic fans the aircraft carriers made their first appearance in Strange Tales #135 (1965) used by S.H.I.E.L.D. The director of Deadpool even brought this up when asked about it saying: "No, it's clearly not the Helicarrier. I just want to say for the record, there's a lot of groups in the Marvel universe who use flying combat platforms. It's not just the Helicarrier. A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) has some. It could have been anything but a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Because that would be outside of the purview of the Fox/Marvel arrangement." - Tim Miller (Grin on his face) Maybe the Helicarrier we see in this film is used by a policing group like the Mutant Response Division or who knows maybe S.H.I.E.L.D. do exist here but for legal reasons can't be mentioned. Who knows lol
@@getinnerds I wouldn't mention anything to do with the MCU movies as Shanelle has only seen Iron Man, and Deadpool if you want to count that as an MCU film.
It's pretty obviously meant to be the remains of one of the downed Insight helicarriers, since that move came out 2 years before this, while this movie was being made.
About to start watching this reaction but I can already imagine how hard it was for you to edit this one because I’m sure you loved every second of it!! Can’t wait to watch.
Technically there are 2 cameos,Stan Lee is the obvious one, but Rob Liefeld (the creator of Deadpool) is in the scene as he enters Sister Margaret's for the first time, you actually hear him referred to as Rob
I was amazed that I was the only person in the theater who recognized the post credit scene as a Ferris Bueller reference. I'm guessing most people don't realize that Matthew Broderick did a post credit scene in that movie.
In regards to the writing...the most important thing they did was hired people that UNDERSTOOD AND RESPECTED THE SOURCE MATERIAL and didn't try to modify it "for modern audiences".
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Deadpool and Deadpool 2... I watch them all the time and LOL every time. I still occasionally catch something I missed on one of my previous viewings... I am so excited for Deadpool & Wolverine...
Never really thought about it, but, when he says the guy falling from the sign was already there when he got there is technically true. I mean, he was flung up there before DP was standing in that area. LOL.
Usually a mutant's powers activate automatically when they hit puberty. The idea in this story is that everyone has a LATENT mutant gene, and by exposing someone to extreme circumstances (in this case torture), it can be activated at a later point in life.
When you watch deadpool 2 (which you absolutely should) you need to look up the story of how the first one was greenlit by the studio. You would love that story, and it answers your budget question! Great reaction!
The "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret." reference still makes me laugh, and I've watched this more times than is probably healthy. It's in my top 3 favorite lines in the movie. I grew up reading Judy Blume, so it's got a very special place in my heart.
Some Deadpool fun facts: Ryan Reynolds first became interested in the character when someone handed him a comic because in it someone said Deadpool looked like a mix between Ryan Reynolds and a sharpei (leading to the line in this movie "looks like I was bitten by a radioactive sharpei") Ryan Reynolds portrayed Deadpool in X-men Origins: Wolverine, but almost backed out of the film because he hated the script, particularly the portrayal of Deadpool, but was told this was the only way he'd get another chance to make a movie portraying him the right way. Ryan Reynolds then spent 10 years trying to get this movie made. They got as far as shooting some test footage that got rejected. Then during Comic-Con someone (one of Reynolds, Miller, or the writers) leaked the test footage and the response was so overwhelming that Fox was essentially forced to make the movie. During the final fight, he was originally supposed to use all the guns he gathered in an all out brawl, but at the last minute the studio massively cut the budget, so they came up with him forgetting the guns in the cab. For the ikea jokes, they originally came up with fake names for the furniture, but then they called ikea to give them a heads up they were making these jokes and ikea loved it and told them to use the real names. You should chec out some of the marketing for the movie as it's almost like a movie itself. They kinda just let Ryan Reynolds go nuts with it (which actually led to Ryan Reynolds starting a marketing business)
On top of all the other things they did right in this movie, it was great seeing them depict Colossus so well. He is known as everyone's big brother in the comics. Despite his size, strength and fighting ability, he always tries to support and uplift his comrades.
1:38 Yeah without giving any spoilers away. Days of Future Past (2014) kind of rebooted the X-Men Universe giving birth to a new continuity with changes but also shared elements across the two continuities. It's not a good movie but X-Men Origins: Wolverine had a version of "Deadpool" but fans hated it as it simply wasn't the Deadpool we know and love from the comics. So this reboot allowed them to re-introduce the character with a new origin and overall make him closer to his rendition from the comics. Most of the X-Men films released pre MCU so continuity wasn't a big thing back in the 2000s when it came to these films. So with the birth of the MCU in 2008 with Iron Man everyone else started to take note on how amazingly well the MCU maintained a solid continuity across films so Fox wanted to try to do this with X-Men. Deadpool is actually the first film set within this new continuity as well so that's pretty funny, allowing people unaware of the X-Men series to jump right into Deadpool and be pretty fine with everything that's going on.
For me this is a perfect film, because it hits every mark and does not waste a second of film without a laugh or something to really keep the audiences attention.
18:45 Well it depends. Deadpool originally was a mutate, gaining his powers from a experimental test (Apart of the Weapon X Program) rather than him having the X Gene. Spider-Man for example is regarded as a mutate as well, anyone who gains powers that mutates their DNA from an external source is often classed as a mutate. A Mutant on the other hand is someone born with the Mutant X Gene with the mutation itself occurring mostly during puberty or in high levels of stress. It was later revealed that Deadpool, was actually a latent mutant, whose X-gene was artificially activated. So close to what you see in this film. But for most Mutants they'll gain there powers during puberty so not a good time for the parents or child. This is why the school was set up to help these young Mutants understand and control their powers while also giving them a safe place to study, live and learn. Speaking of Spider-Man. In the comics alot of the public actually believe that Spider-Man is a mutant often causing him to get hate from people and groups with Anti Mutant views. Maybe it's because he's friend with a bunch of the X-Men or that he's helped them out a good amount of times so the public just assume he's one as well. But like I imagined he's a mutate but no doubt still welcomed into the X-Men family, would imagine they'd be okay with Mutates attending the school, would love an alternate reality story of "What If... Peter Parker attended Xavier's School after gaining his powers".
Except back in the day it was all exposure to radioactive something, not genetic mutation (except the X-Men themselves). For example, Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, not a genetically altered one.
Francis was played by Ed Skrein, who also played Daario Naharis for a season on Game of Thrones. Dario was recast after Ed left, though the reason for his leaving remains something of a mystery.
Shanelle, to answer your question as to where this movie was filmed: Filming. Principal photography began on March 23, 2015, in Vancouver, British Columbia, under the working title Wham!. Filming took place at North Shore Studios and on location around the city. From the Wikipedia page...
If you like Vanessa, you should watch the Firefly series. Unfortunately, there are only 14 episodes + a brilliant movie, but totaly bingable and time well spent
The movie has a lot of scenes shot in BC. The opening battle was on the Georgia Viaduct in Vancouver. Vanessa's neighborhood is in Chinatown in Vancouver. The X-Men mansion was Hatley Castle near Victoria.
The thing that's always annoyed me about this movie: Not being able to feel pain isn't a superpower, it's a severe disability. He can't feel pain but he can still bleed to death and he doesn't have super healing.
right??? and having your nerve endings damaged like that would make it hard to hold cutlery, let alone dual-wield axes. but i guess we just have to figure we're operating on comic book/movie logic, here, and that "i don't feel pain" also means "i can take way more damage than a normal human with no long-term ill effects."
@@ravenofroses lol, yeah in the real world we would have those problems, but in fiction they get super strength and plot always have them make it out ok
Deadpool knows he's a comic book character. He's completely insane to the point we don't know if anything he has ever said is true or not, he may be the most insane comic book character like up there with the Joker. His healing power is way stronger than Wolverines. Wade is one of very very few truly immortal Marvel characters due to Thanos making him immortal as they are both in love with Death but she has banned Thanos from entering her realm making Thanos immortal so Thanos made Deadpool immortal to keep him away from her.
The bar scene was all adlib between Reynolds and Miller. They had 20 mins of them going back and forth. The crew couldn't stop laughing and they had to stop filming after 20 mins.
This movie is awesome. Its definitely bloody, but so hilarious, heartbreaking and even heartwarming at times. I also find it fun that I recognize a couple filming locations in Vancouver BC 🇨🇦.
The director of the Xmen Origins Wolverine completely rewrote the character of Deadpool from the comics, and did such a hatchet job that when Ryan went to the studio to make the movie he was denied. However the test footage he had shot was "leaked" online and went viral, so the studio caved in and gave them a super small budget to work with.
This is my favorite “comic book” movie and character. I love how it essentially makes fun of itself and other movies like it. Your reaction and feedback provided a more “in the biz” point of few which was great. Now it’s time to watch Deadpool 2, and there’s a trailer for Deadpool 3! Deadpool 3 is half sarcastically said to “save the MCU”, now that Disney owns Marvel instead of Fox. There’s rumors to SO MANY X Men and Marvel characters being in DP3, it is going to be insane!
I saw this movie in theaters on a first date. We went for sushi and hit it off so we decided to keep the night rolling and catch this film. I fell in love that night ❤ with Deadpool, things didn’t actually end up working out with the date 😂
Go watch a TV show he did in the in the late 90s called “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place” after the 1st season they dropped the and a pizza place. Ryan literally plays himself which is basically Deadpool in training. The Halloween episodes are amazingly hilarious every year. Nathan Fillion joined the show in the second season and made it even more awesome.
Two things about the movie. The woman on Wades shirt is Golden Girls star Bea Arthur. In the comics Wade/Deadpool is a HUGE Bea Arthur fan and Ryan wanted it in the movie as a homage. Beas estate agreed it could be done if a 10k dollar donation was given to a charity of their choice. Just like the writer situation the studio didnt think it was a good use of funds so Ryan paid the 10k out of his own pocket. Second is how the movie got Greenlit. Originally Miller and Reynolds made a short proof of concept trailer, a proto version of the Highway scene. They showed it to Fox and they werent interested. Well the teaser "accidentally" got leaked to RUclips and the trailer EXPLODED in popularity. So because of the response to the teaser Fox then greenlit the full production.
My favorite trivia bit is that she actually punched Ryan after he said the "less angry Rosie O'Donnell " line. If you watch the outtakes from the DVD he immediately apologized to the actress by name.
This wasn't a reboot. Its the first time there was a Deadpool movie. Any other showing of the character was inaccurate and not received well at all. She was not with the pizza kid. He was stalking her. Deadpool and all X-Men characters were under ownership of Fox for making any movies/tv/products. Since it came out along with some of the MCU movies, that is why he teased the SLJ appearance in the post credit scene. But now that Disney owns Fox and Marvel, all X-Men and related characters can be in the MCU, which brings us Deadpool & Wolverine (Deadpool 3) later this year.
It's such a fun and funny movie! I love it! Great reaction Shan, as usual. Fun fact: the Francis (the antagonist) is "Zapan" from "Alita: Battle Angel.
Was never a Deadpool person... but for me, its the fact we got a perfect Colossus finally, given hes always been my favorite of the X-men, and in the occasions hes been in a movie, he's never been right until this one.
The woman on Wade's shirt is Bea Arthur, Deadpool has a crush on her, it's been a running joke in the comics for 30 years. So is Bob, the security guard, he's Deadpool's biggest fan but doesn't have any powers so Deadpool turned him down as a sidekick, now Bob takes jobs with bad guys because the health benefits are top notch and they get paid double for overtime.
That song during that montage came out before the move. Also, an old friend tells me that the guy who wrote it was in our little Laser Tag squad when I lived in San Diego
Ironically, I'm drinking water and was just swallowing a mouthfull when Deadpool said "I've never said this before, but don't swallow." Which of course made me suddenly laugh. Much choking and coughing and spluttering, and laughing, ensued. 🤣😂
Shanelle Gratuitous Cameo was late great comic book writer and icon, Stan Lee two years before death in 2018. His last cameo was 2018's Ant Man and the Wasp.
Since you seem to like Vanessa, played by Morena Baccarin, may I suggest watching Firefly (2002)? It also stars one of Ryan's old cast mates from Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place, Nathan Fillion. Also Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres, Adam Baldwin, Summer Glau, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher and Ron Glass. There's only 14 episodes from it's sole season, plus the 2005 feature film, Serenity.
"I want to talk like this in everyday life." Isn't that what online creators tend to be? Twitch streamers, React RUclipsrs, etc. you're just putting your inner monologue out there for others to enjoy.
Deadpool's "superhuman strength" is basically because he can stress his muscles to the point that they would tear on a normal human, and then basically be instantly healed. More of a "Superhuman resilience". Deadpool is also immune to mind control. His cancer also got super healing, so his body is constantly being changed from super cancer to healthy cells, so his brain is constantly in flux. This is also why he is perfectly aware that he is in a comic book/movie/TV show.
Heck yeah!! Deadpool is brilliant. Loved that laugh at the start when you said about not speaking for everyone. I feel the same way as you, as I do similar 😅 I hope you're doing well Shan! Thanks for the great video
43:35 yes btw, the studio never thought this movie would be a hit and they shelved it, stopped the project (Thats why it took 6 years to make it), but then an anonim crew member leaked a scene from the movie (the start basically whne deadpool drops from the bridge in to the car) and it was a HUGE viral hit. then the studio let them finish the movie
So in the comics, Deadpool did have cancer, but the serum was a mix of Wolverine's blood and the catalyst, which is what gave Wade the accelerated regeneration. Problem is, his cancer cells got the power too, so they promptly spread throughout his body, including his brain, which made him absolutely insane. Which made him super sane, letting him realize he's a comic character. It also gave him 2 voices in his head, which are represented in the comics by 2 different colored dialogue boxes. So Wade talks to them and the reader, and will reference previous comics directly, rather than the artist including an asterisk and a footnote for it. He'll also look ahead at upcoming panels.
Also, there is, indeed, a Lady Deadpool. There's also a Dogpool, a Hulkpool, and, from the far, FAR future.... Headpool. Literally Deadpool's head with a little helicopter hat to move around.
Love it when you do the movies I wait for. The Francis montage would have been shorter had he just been asking for Ajax. Another good reaction. You are top tier along with about 3 others in this sector of YT. Keep on keepin' on. :)
He saw the cartoon animals because he had a knife through his brain and was losing cognitive function.
As one does.
@@ll7868 not in this movie, sorry bro
I love how the song warps just before he pulls the knife out. It's such a nice touch and sells what's happening.
Came here to say this. He always had unicorns on his brain, as well.
And Ryan Reynolds has no idea HOW that footage was leaked... *wink wink*
Dorothy was the best Golden Girl. Fight me
Being Norwegian, I can say with reasonable certainty that Hurdal has the stress on the first syllable, not the last. 😊
@@Narapoia1That is also why he forgot his gun bag in the taxi. It was cheaper for him to not have all of the guns during the climax of the movie.

Ryan Reynolds may as well have been born with a Deadpool comic in his hands. He brought this character to life!
You're not too far off the mark. In one Deadpool comic, Deadpool is described as looking like "Ryan Reynolds mixed with a Shar-pei." This happened to be the first Deadpool comic that Ryan ever read, and so he felt destined for this role.
@@peterseaboldt1250That's pretty cool.
The funny thing about the "Where's Francis" Scene is that no one knows Francis. They only know Ajax.
i never realized that but it made me laugh when i read this
Guy doesn’t even remotely resemble anyone named Francis 😂

I remember watching that leaked scene over and over thinking "This would be a great movie but no studio will make it." I'm so glad I was wrong!!
Deadpool: "Hey, Cyke, we have a situation, here..."
Cyclops: "How did you get this number?"
Deadpool: "HA! Funny. You always crack me up. But listen... there's something going on with one of the students..."
Cyclops: "No, seriously. *How did you get this number?* "

Deadpool probably wrote this script. In his video games, he's always ranting about the writing. But not here. Because he wrote it.

As for his strength - Deadpool is pretty strong, but 'maximum effort' involves using 100% muscle capability, which breaks his bones and tears his tendons 😅 to grant him temporary extra strength.
Exactly. The man had a knife through his head hahaha😂
yeah, DP can basically bypass the brain's limitation on strength since he can always regenerate.
any normal people punching Colossus would probably be in pain, but still be whole, because DP have no more limiter, he shattered his wrists and ankle.

You are in for a treat in Deadpool 2
plz for god not let her watch deadpool 2 before logan
Have you seen Hot Fuzz? That film is the object masterclass in call backs and foreshadowing! It's impossible to spot all of it without rewatches.
Great suggestion. Hot fuzz has the tightest script I have ever seen.
"Don't make the uniform CGI, or green."
Other works have broken the fourth wall.
The director of Deadpool even brought this up when asked about it saying:
"No, it's clearly not the Helicarrier. I just want to say for the record, there's a lot of groups in the Marvel universe who use flying combat platforms. It's not just the Helicarrier. A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) has some. It could have been anything but a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Because that would be outside of the purview of the Fox/Marvel arrangement." - Tim Miller (Grin on his face)
Maybe the Helicarrier we see in this film is used by a policing group like the Mutant Response Division or who knows maybe S.H.I.E.L.D. do exist here but for legal reasons can't be mentioned. Who knows lol
I thought it was one of the destroyed ones from Civil War. Looked similar.
Not just the comics, it was used in the last MCU movie right before this one. They couldn't officially say it because Deadpool isn't MCU.
Not just that, but they brought HYDRA Bob over from the books too, but couldn't refer to him as "HYDRA" Bob because reasons.

Either that or they die...
Yes there is a Lady Deadpool. She appears in the Deadpool Corps comics and is also suppose to appear in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Some Deadpool fun facts:
Ryan Reynolds first became interested in the character when someone handed him a comic because in it someone said Deadpool looked like a mix between Ryan Reynolds and a sharpei (leading to the line in this movie "looks like I was bitten by a radioactive sharpei")
Ryan Reynolds portrayed Deadpool in X-men Origins: Wolverine, but almost backed out of the film because he hated the script, particularly the portrayal of Deadpool, but was told this was the only way he'd get another chance to make a movie portraying him the right way.
And throw wolverine at people....
Fastball special FTW!
"love is blind Wade"
"No... You're blind"
12:14 - Oh, you hopeless romantic! 😂
making this comment during the intro i am so excited for you to see this :) gotta be one of the best films in the last few decades....
And a Mute-Ant is a rather companionable Ant that doesn't interrupt your narrative but might just steal all your sugar cubes.
Except back in the day it was all exposure to radioactive something, not genetic mutation (except the X-Men themselves). For example, Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, not a genetically altered one.
Spidey does get really annoyed when Sentinels target him, as they really shouldn't be able to lol

Shanelle, to answer your question as to where this movie was filmed:
Filming.
I guess the enhanced reflexes is the real power but his strength is slightly enhanced with his pain receptors off.
right??? and having your nerve endings damaged like that would make it hard to hold cutlery, let alone dual-wield axes. but i guess we just have to figure we're operating on comic book/movie logic, here, and that "i don't feel pain" also means "i can take way more damage than a normal human with no long-term ill effects."
@@ravenofroses lol, yeah in the real world we would have those problems, but in fiction they get super strength and plot always have them make it out ok
DP3 in July, woo! I love the Deadpool movies, they're so epic.
Primarily (if not all) shot in Vancouver (Ryan's hometown). The bridge scenes were shot on the Georgia Viaduct. Vanessa's apartment is in Chinatown.
I've watched so many of your reactions, and so many reactions to Deadpool, I'm shocked to realize those two circles haven't intersected until now.
You're gonna love part 2. Waiting for 3
This is my favorite “comic book” movie and character.
Awesome reaction, love your sense of humour and your thoughts about cheesy lines etc.
30:27 "forgetting" the duffle bag full of weapons for the final battle was how they made the budget work for the final battle.
38:39 - Deadpool saw cartoon characters around Vanessa because he had a knife jammed into his brain
Thanks, Shanelle! 😆 I thoroughly enjoyed this one and its sequel. The next one looks pretty good, too.

@27:12..."She has a great...nose." Totally not how I thought that sentence was gonna end given where it cut as you said it.
I feel the same way as you, as I do similar 😅
I hope you're doing well Shan!
Both Deadpool movies are probably some of the funniest films I've ever seen. Stoked for part 3.
Deadpool- the only movie that could possibly use the line "...a face I'd be happy to sit on" and make the line amazingly romantic.
I love how he always asks where's Francis, but they only know the guy as Ajax. Lol😂
